In this video I outline how to use Rosado on Maddening in terms of classes, upgrades, passives, etc.
This guide is aimed at the early/midgame. I will be making an advanced guide that covers emblem rings and endgame unit builds.

Rosado is such a trip to use the entire game, his HP reaches so high he can start just bait and pull enemies and still sit at 30+ and his speed is in a position where he won’t double mostly but he won’t be getting doubled.

Over all a decent unit that's an excellent replacement unit. I think one thing that's over looked about Rosado is his HP. He's your best dragon slayer starting the map you get him (Thanks Eirika) because he can actually tank a dang hit from the true damage they deal.
With some damage reduction skill like gentility or resolve he makes for an excellent enemy phase killer.
Considered reclassing him when I got him, because it seemed his damage output wasn't quite there. But I didn't because I thought his wyvern and base class outfit looked too good. Luckily his stats got very good very quickly
Biggest issue is opportunity cost. By this chapter, you pretty much have as much as the premium cast members as you could want, especially with well
You forgot the most important Rosado tech.
You give him your engagement ring and S support him.

Rosado is a really good unit... once he gets going. Unfortunetly; he's an Est who comes in the midgame [it's realistically midgame when you count paralouges]
Like; his growths are legitimately kinda crazy. Just for some reason, unlike most other pre-promotes he comes apparently having gotten statscrewed on all his levelups.
Yeah you get a ton of paralogues around when you get him so he can level up, catch up, and surpass other damage units pretty fast
Add on DLC content and there should be plenty of time for Rosado to grow. I haven't gotten there yet but he's the unit I'm most excited to test in my current playthrough.
I actually kept him on Wyvern and made him into a dodge tank using an engraved javelin and lance agility. He became almost as good as Chloe in being a dodge tank and he might have been better if I made him into a griffin knight. Still, Chloe is probably better at doing this since you get her way earlier but I prefer to use Rosado because bisexual brain go brrr.
He does scale fairly well despite low starting stats. On join, Wyvern Alear should be slightly better but at Internal Level 40 WK Rosado is really close to IL 40 WK Alear on fixed growth. So he does need to be carried a little bit at first but he will catch up.
I think changing to sword/Lance wyvern might be a good option to offset the build issue. You lose Brave Axe but it’s so heavy I don’t know how much that matters if you aren’t pumping build and/or speed with an emblem.
I gave him lief to fix his build, gave him lunar brace+ and break defences, and reclassed him into WK sword/axe, so he can break axe users(lief's sword is magical) with that he can quad with the brave axe AND master lance
The problem with super faster slightly weaker units I compared to slower slightly stronger units like rosado is that it is so much easier and takes way less SP to fix speed than it does for fixing damage which feels like such an oversight
Yeah he fixes his own strength and speed when he levels up, but even more speed is always helpful
I think it's less an oversight and more about how doubling works in the franchise in general: the benchmark to double most enemies/not get doubled is consistently easier to hit than the one needed to one round (only need 5 AS more than target for double, while the later has the target's entire def of choice deduct from your damage). It's always been "easier" to fix a speed issue that isn't ridiculously massive than a str one.
@@BDH38 I was talking more about speedtaker and speed +5 being 2,000 SP each and strength or magic +5 being 5,000 and even like axe damage +4 being 2,000 with an avoid drawback, lunar brace is 3,000sp. Using that to fix damage is just not as possible due to high SP cost. Speed +3 is only 500 which is nothing
Growth unit 100%. He was ass until he got a few level ups. Then after several level ups he is one the God units
Lunar Brace + Build +4 is disgusting.
Interesting enough, Rosado has 45 str and 25 mag. Probably the only character that can take advantage of both arts and tomes in the high priest class as it has 25 mag and 0 str growth but since Rosado base str is so high it can still work
As a recommendation, I would say that instead of reading the stats/growth rates, it would be more efficient and dynamic to have them on screen as of right now and then you pointing out something specific either good or bad based on the stats. I just say it cuz most people dont care about that and the ones that care already know that and to have someone read something that you're reading already its kind of redundant.

He was one of my best units on my first maddening run. I gave him Build+4/Speedtaker with +3 Brave Axe and the Erika ring, This patched up his low starting strength and helped him scale up his damage. I think Rosado is both a trap aesthetically and mechanically (I'm a comedian) People give up on him early because of his lower str, but if you feed him levels he will become one of your strongest units. Also Erika Ring is perfect for him since it gives him some drain tanking to make up for his lower defense. This mixed with his dodge tanking abilities make him surprisingly durable. I've used him twice, and he out-scaled Chloe both times, this was without giving him ANY stat boosts.

Since he was the only growth unit I had (didn’t bother babying jean or anna) i was able to invest in him pretty easy, which for me was just feed him some kills in his chapter and some early emblem paralogue kills
That Heros Axe is insane on my Wylear and the Spear is a godsend on Chloe
Before I watched this video I kept Rosado on Wyvern Knight and gave him Corrin so he could spam Dragon Vein in the background. He was practically my healer because of that.
Mage knight is the best for him purely for aesthetics. Looks so good. Used as mage knight with axes, and used micaiah for exp.
Favorite unit to run, I usually end up doing paralogues like Lyn's only after unlocking him and Goldmary for extra SP immediately.
Second seal to a sword/lance wyvern works for fixing his accuracy too if you dont plan on heavily investing on him
Bro has such cracked growths that if you keep leveling him he can be really good
I’m enjoying using him as a Hero with forged silver sword and a javelin, so he’s very fast and hits hard.
Martial Master Rosado is the hidden top tier, I'm telling you. He even has decent defenses so the penalty from flashing fist art (cheap forging cost!) is not too problematic (unlike framme). The issue is that you have to wait until chapter 19 when you get micaiah back for the staff proficiency.

you also get staff proficiency from Leif so you can actually reclass him at the beginning of ch18 instead of ch20

The FEH axe, Naotun, is my one hope for making Rosado good. His bases aside, his low build on an axe unit hurts. Planning to use him as an axe griffin knight w/ speedtaker on my next maddening run to fix his doubling issues.
Leif helps tremendously with the build. I also gave him build+3 which made it so he wouldn’t even be weighed down by a brave axe and he would quadruple with it consistently. If you give him momentum he can also delete pretty much anyone with Leif’s quadruple hit
Another idea, once he gets a few levels or an energy drop, reclass him into a Sword Wyvern, probably Lance/Sword foe the Spear, but either is fine.
Once his strength growth kicks in he does absolutely fine damage with swords, which can preserve his speed.
i left him on wyvern, gave him lief's ring, inherited brake defences from marth + lunar brace, the idea was quading a lance user with a light brave axe, fill the engage meter in one round because you broke him and break defences lets you hit again, and spend the rest of the time safely quadding people with the master lance. worked better than i expected(im still trying to find good uses for lief, and a 2 range quadding option for fliers is cool). Edit: i just changed the wyvern to axe/sword, lief's sword is magic, so i just gave him a killing edge.
DLC Build:
I'm gonna try him on Mage Knight with Camila, Axe Power and Weapon Sinc with Brave Axe and Tomes
Haven't tried this yet, but on paper it seems fun and good.
I went Warrior Rosado. It patches his str and bld. S Tier Cuteness. "Cuteness combined"

Me who made Rosado into a absolute unit with Ike, reclassed to General and I just let him go to town with Great aether, it’s a great time
I played with him as wyvern on maddening no DLC fixed and even gave him 2x energy drops to compensate for the low starting stats. I'd say in that setting he is better as a Wyvern than some early (questionable) Wyverns like Chloe/ Lapis by endgame with his better str/spd scaling but definately not as good as Wyvern Kagetsu, Merrin or Zelkov, probably also not as good as wyvern Panette either though the later one I never ran as Wyvern.
Wyvern Panette is somehow even better than you'd think she should be. She's just comically good on physical classes.

I think Revanche (Crit axe from the well) is another really good option for Rosado. Lyn's crit engraving will bring the weight down to 10, right around where Rosado's Build is. Slap on Axe Power to fix his damage and Wrath (or Ike ring) and you should be good to go. Rosado is the only good unit that has Innate Axe Proficiency, which means he is the only Wyvern Rider that can use A tier axes. You could do something similar with Panette obviously, but she would have to be on Warrior or Paladin.
I haven't unlocked all the DLC content yet, but Tiki obviously makes all growth units way better, since it gives you more incentive to funnel resources into a single unit. Other than Jean, I think Rosado could be an interesting option to power level. Edelgard's emblem also seems good on Rosado, as he would be able to Weapon Sync 2/3 of the time, the engage weapons are all around 10 Wt, and the ring itself provides some needed Str. If running Edelgard's ring, rather than Axe Power, Str/Def+3 or +4 from Hector will make more sense, although it's extremely expensive.
Something I really enjoy about your videos is those moments where you say something like "Sus" and then laugh about it, but you don't edit that stuff out. It's fun.
Also, glad to see you took a look at the FEH weapons! They're disgusting!
I am running him on lances, Killer Lance+3 with Eirika and he is one of my HARD carries. Spd+5 and Canto let him hit and leave room for other melee attackers
Tbf any physical units with a Killer Lance + speed boost + canter becomes really good
I've found it hard to use him over other members due to his bases. He feels so slow momentum wise compared to other units at that point in the game
He does come a little late, but since you get so many paralogues at that time, he can catch up super fast since his growths are so good

Hear me out Rosado as a Sage im cooking the tankiest mage with capped HP and decent DEF and RES and enough speed and build to use bolganone and dodge like a god

He should be a better Wolf Knight than Merrin with his higher str. Almost identical to her but higher hp and str.
Honestly, I know you dont recommend magic classes on him, but a base 25% Magic growth is nothing to scoff at. Sage would bring him up to 55%, and Mage Knight would still let him use physical weapons to make use of his str growth. hes a great all round unit who can work in any role you need him to, and hes probably my most valuable on my team right now
Mage knight would be an ok option for him, not optimal compared to other magic units but reasonably good :)

Using Rosado in maddening is the equivalent of throwing the game Roki Sasaki style
One thing that I don't think was mentioned is his atrocious luck. On higher difficulties its very common to see low percent crits against him. This isn't a deal breaker, but players using him should try to patch it up with either an engraved forge/skill/ring.

The way to make Rosado good, unfortunately, really seems to be just saving a bunch of your stat boosters to fix his low bases.
@@priestessii His strength base is trash though. 16 at that point in the game is not good strength. And he's a Wyvern, one of the higher strength classes. Kagetsu has more strength base as a Swordmaster on recruit I'm pretty sure, and that's several chapters earlier.
@@priestessii I really need you to tell me where you're getting your numbers from because on my current run I instantly promoted Lapis into a Wyvern as soon as I got her and only a few levels and one chapter (and one paralogue) later she has 16 strength. That is the same as Rosado and she joins 9 chapters earlier.
I like Rosado, but you have to admit that makes him look pretty bad by comparison.

I really just feel like speed isn't ever much of an issue for Lapis for the whole game though, so even if hers isn't quite as good as Rosado she still frequently doubles most enemies until the end anyways.I like her AND Rosado anyways, so I'm going to end up using them both anyways. Just comparing their strength to each other by the time I get around to recruiting Rosado he's clearly much weaker.
I'm glad his speed is good though. That means he shouldn't require any speed fixing, so I'll just need to pick the right skills to bring his damage up to a respectable level.
Fire Emblem games are some of the least blind runnable games I've ever played.
How to use Rosado- use a different unit to deal some damage to the wyvern on his join chapter- use engage Rosado use Eirika engage skill on the wyvern to ko it- finish ch and bench him
