In this video I outline how to use Saphir on Maddening in terms of classes, upgrades, passives, etc.
This guide is aimed at the early/midgame. I will be making an advanced guide that covers emblem rings and endgame unit builds.

This is what a 30 year old looks like according to japan.
I’m pretty sure they added the ages in the English localization. Original Japanese version doesn’t show the characters’ ages in their bios. Just their birthdays. So it’s actually North America’s image of a 30 year old LOL

Best reason to use her as a Brave Axe bot over Panette is that she actually looks good in Warrior
I wish they would raise the dex and speed cap of Berserker :\ Its basically unusable becaue of it.

Divine Pulse is the value listed +1% for each point of Luck (it’s what makes it a decent option for a staff user like Hortensia, since she ends with 30+ Luck. With Micaiah she’d have ~90% Divine Pulse trigger rate)
Saphir was really fun to use in my first playthrough. Just a massive tank in her base class and some massive crit from her synergy with Ike and ridiculous hp. She had 100 crit against the final boss
Griffin Knight with Ike, speed taker, and the FEH Axe turned out to be a very strong and easy to obtain build for me. She becomes a surprisingly dodgy and very tankie flier that can double and Ike’s strength buff helps fix her damage.
If you want to make use of her as a tank Resolve and Gentility works well
I kinda enjoy running her as a Halberdier with Roy. It kinda fits her nicely since you get a brave spear at her recruitment chapter. She have decent enough hit with a brave lance as it is and her strength is decent enough to one round casters even without pincer as well as anything else with pincer. Most characters especially generic ones start to fall off post game. I just gave her Lunar brace which makes her do more then enough damage. I like Saphir unfortunately she never really became anything special for me, she did serve as a nice filler character as hero, she ended up better as a Halberdier thou. Will to live is a decent passive... It's just a shame her internal level is to high to reliably re-class her into a more avoidance oriented character.
With DLC being a thing she can probably do fairly well as something with higher avoidance and reprisal, her base hp is her strongest feature. Perhaps wolf knight + reprisal might work, sure wolf knights have low Hp growths, but with her base hp she could probably pull it off and she might even reach enough speed to double with daggers/spears.

There's a build where she stacks avoid with Marth for break defense and Hit from Sigurd. Thought it was interesting.
Chrom has an ability that turns crits to x4 damage
Might be interesting to try with a crit build
I onboarded her late after a death and made her a swordmaster. The s rank swords make up for her lack of strength and she has high enough build to wield them. I spec'd her for avoid with erika/marth and she was p good.
Thief Safir with Corrin + Wrath, Hold Out or Vanatage and crit engraved Carnwenhan or Cinquedea = an actually scary unit. Currently the only great use I found for those weapons so far.
Her growth matters a bit less, if she's even invested in at this point she's only getting maybe 10 levels.
I find it interesting that resolve isn't mentioned. Gentility is first for sure, because when your Eirika user engages it changes to blue skies for less damage + true damage. But resolve is pretty cheap for 10 - 14 stat points
Edit: Panette can run vantage/wrath/hold out but so can two other units. It's okay for her to be the next best or third best vantage/wrath/hold out user
Crit oriented abillities are very rare in the playable cast imo. Its just Panette and Saphir right?
Love this crit-playstyle with Vantage.. I have yet to try her and so am I looking forward watching this video
Lindon has the best one as far as player phase goes since it procs of weapon ranks, it's quite easy to get to 100 crit as Sniper or 50+ crit with diré thunder with minimal effort
Lindon who goes nuts with a forged levin sword, radiant bow, or dire thunder for a constant +20 crit
Don't forget about Yunaka! +15 crit if on an avoid tile.
With the 105% HP growth will she ever get ±2? I guess it would be a long time for Saphir to get 20 levels 😂 I was curious about this with a couple other units.
Yes, she eventually would get +2 on a level up
She can definitely pull off the Vantage/Wrath combo but Panette does it better like you said.

Endgame is 14 units though, so she made it into my final team. Also some units are likely to fall off around the time you get her
free brave axe
on my maddening run the first time she immediately died on like the second enemy phase and i just said, welp oh well
I don’t really think I can speak on Saphir without embellishing her strengths but a high build unit with decent offense and incredible defenses all on top of good starting sp? Not something you should just bench if you need a spot filled imo

Interesting coming from Three Houses to return to a true endgame filler unit. Perfectly average. Exists to make the game winnable on classic mode. Three houses had such a massive emphasis on growth units in comparison.
