As you will notice, Ike and Micaiah don't do their Engage attack.
It's funny, I thought I would've had to wait a few more months for the next DLC to drop but they are in a hurry for some reason to release them all. Perhaps the FE4 remake is true...

Huh, makes sense that Micaiah wouldn’t do Great Sacrifice. I wouldn’t let the boss drop themselves to 1 hp if I was designing that chapter either.
Yeah almost wish her mission was a rout the enemy mission so it would make more sense for her to do it, I also thought they could have have multiple staff users by her and she could use it at the beginning of the enemy phase and they could heal her after with recover staffs. She also had the revival stones. Wish enemies would have used it when the stole her ring as well
Micaiah not utilizing Great Sacrifice isn't the problem, the idiot who designed the chapter is. There are many ways for Micaiah to utilize Great Sacrifice that would literally make the player rip their hairs bald. And one of those ways is to have her be surrounded by a bunch of scepter users that can heal her every time she uses Great Sacrifice. It's no wonder when I did her paralogue chapter she was in such a rush to get the battle over with, despite how much of an advantage she could've had at the start. With waves of enemies that keep on coming, and her not moving from her spot while she spam her ability from afar, the chapter would've never been done as you get swamped by enemies that won't die.
P.S.
Looking back on it now, I'm actually glad she decided not to use her ability. I was already struggling trying to kill every enemy for exp/sp gains.
Just give her an extra recovery stone.
Byleth and Alear are the only emblems capable of brawling so i kind of wished one of their engage attacks could have had them throw hands

Emblem Ike is smart enough to understand greater aether only works against Ai enemies
here's hoping that mods will let us see Ike and Micaiah do their Engage attacks.
there's probably few that do that already, now that I think about it...
basically when ike uses Great Aether, he says along the lines: "You have no chance of winning this fight!" then he slams the ground.
Micaiah says: "I will not hold back." then uses Great Sacrifice

It’s funny because that bow has stats and it’s completely terrible. It’s 6 MT and 14 WT, (not that the weight matters for the engage attack)

But Azura will probably be DLC; she technically wasn't the main lord in her game, and doesn't even survive in like, 2 of the 3 routes in Fates. Since the whole theme in Fates is supposed to be "choices" and whatnot, and considering that Azura kind of just goes along for the ride until she meets Corrin, it would kind of undermine the messaging there if she made it in over Corrin, yeah?

Agreed...all them should have appeared and azura should have been in camilla's place not Camilla.
Azura is essentially one of the main heroes in Fates since story focuses mostly around her and Corrin.
I can excuse male Byleth, just to me should have been more emblems...like Caeda! You cannot have Marth and tiki without Martha's wife Caeda!

Ike doesn’t use great aether because the player would just not attack him for that turn, and Micaiah can’t use great sacrifice because she’d be easy to kill, and the AI doesn’t know how to stay out of enemy ranges
Instead, he just runs around hitting people with his hammer

Haha, I made Panette knock Chrom out of the protection tile, Chrom then did his engage attack.
Ngl 0:41 when Roy attacks to Lyn shooting her arrows goes kinda hard ngl.
The best Engage animation goes to Soren.
Possible reference sources:
Marth - Dancing Blade from Smash Bros, which that game pretty much just made up
Celica - Warp skipping strategies in Echoes, maybe. Sniper spam always worked better for me but, you do you
Sigurd - Probably nothing specific, but it does cross enemies in a pattern, and FE4 is known for its enemy formation spam
Leif - Couldn't tell ya, I haven't played Thracia. Maybe Leif just couldn't pick which weapon he liked better (This move is almost as bad as he is 1/2 of the time)
Roy - His critical hit move from FE6 and final smash in Smash Bros
Lyn - I think they just made this one up, I haven't beaten FE7 but Lyn was always a swordie, not a bow user (maybe she gets promoted into one later or something, IDK)
Eirika - This one with Ephraim kinda just makes sense to use, given her and him are twins
Ike - Great Aether from smash bros, but Ike is also just built different and tanks everything- the animation comes from Radiant Dawn
Micaiah - Haven't played Radiant Dawn, but I figure Micaiah is just a very self sacrificing person
Lucina - Ally assists and pairups from Awakening, also thematically relevant with Awakening's themes of bonds
Corrin - This is her weird dragon hand thing from Smash bros, but it shoots lasers this time- this specific move originates from her "Dragon Fang" skill animation
Byleth - White Heron Cup/ball reference, plus the fact that Byleth can be a dancer and is actually not a bad one
Edelgard/Dimitri/Claude - Uses the relic weapons of the respective lords, Aredbhar, Amyr and Failnaught
Tiki - Reference to the gems from the Emblem Shield in the original games, maybe?
Hector - Honestly doesn't make sense considering Hector ends up being faster than Eliwood, but Hector's all about brute force and is great on enemy phases
Veronica - FEH orb spending
Soren - Probably just representive of Soren's magical aptitude
Chrom/Robin - Seeing Chrom use a levin sword is wierd, but the two are thematically two lords of one game, and "fight as one" like the pairings mentioned in Lucina's. Also Aether again
Camilla - This move is just wacky and never hits anything, kinda like Camilla on Conquest Lunatic (Real talk, they just made this one up)
Micaiah's sacrifice ability in Radiant Dawn normally heals 1 unit by sacrificing her own but they made it heal everyone
Soren's is just a bigger version of his Flare animation from Radiant Dawn, which was the proc skill of Arch Sages

It's possible the animation for Camilla's is inspired by Warriors

Erica and Ephraim aside, if they were gonna pack so many characters in bracelets like they did with academy's students and the two "halves" of the shepherds, they should have did the entire Nohr family with Camilla, or least just Hinoka.
yeah, she feels pretty lonely in there considering shes def part of a bigger unit in her own game. Like nohr family, just one other member like xander, her retainers, hinoka, etc. Lots of options. Im a big fan of the nohrian royal family so I'd prefer that, but I think hinoka is a smart idea considering its heavily implied this is revelations camilla.

Did anyone else rewind several turns in Eirika’s paralogue trying to get Ephraim to do his single trademark grunt noise when Eirika uses her Engage attack? I swear I must’ve used like 6 charges, recording several different versions of Eirika’s grunts along the way, but nothing different from Ephraim, he’d always be silent. Feels like this gotta be a bug or an oversight, bc if it was intentional DAMN Ephraim can’t catch a single break 💀
So does Summoned Tiki's divine blessing allow a second character to have the effect? I'd guess no.
I'm assuming you're referring to Veronica's summoning ability? Emblems summoned by Veronica don't get their super attack.

This in my opinion should have been how emblem gameplay should have been done, it is just weird that characters perform signature moves of the emblems and not the emblems themselves

That one is actually when you use the 3H engage attack next to whoever has byleth, it's the only attack in this video that is not made by an enemy

1. I don't understand why Ike doesn't use his "Great Aether" to create a shockwave to kill the enemies, probably that could be cheating.
2. If Micaiah use her "Great Sacrifice" her HP will fall down to 1 making it harder for her to win.

they REALLY should have had Azura in the game instead of corrin, she would fit the role perfectly, and Byleth could have had his engage attack being something relating to Ruptured Heaven or sumthin like that

Lyn Emblem skill is busted but not because of damage. But it can break map AI and let you fish a boss from far away using Covert units.

Am I the only person who's not a fan of the "Engage" (not to be confused with sync-pairing Emblem rings) mechanic in this game? They all just look so... silly... as in they're too flashy, over-the-top, and aesthetically ridiculous looking... It's like watching something straight out of an anime...
I love that I can turn a unit of my choice in to a Dragon by letting them engage with Tiki.
So I am a big fan of the mechanic fore that alone.
@@sofaris576 Meh, I prefer to ride dragons, rather than become them. Otherwise, it'd make having dragon mounts obsolete. Not to mention, the aesthic design when turning into a dragon in this game isn't all that appealing.

@@fyra_cat2119 as if throwing a gigantic fireball at your enemy's face, or smiting them with thunder wasn't devastating enough. Using Engage attacks is just overkill. But I guess we've moved past the traditional way of killing enemies medieval style to this animu crap.
