    I really liked Mage Knight Lindon on my last run, he gets enough speed to double some foes on Maddening with Chaos Style and the Levin Sword has pretty high might for C rank.
    So if you engrave the Levin Sword and inherit Wrath he gets pretty consistent. It’s not that hard for him to take a single hit from most Maddeningly enemies.
    Also of note, Engage Weapons are considered D rank and so always get the +20 crit. It’s harder to stack crit on them without Engravings but if you’re doubling the odds are still fairly good for you. It could be relevant on some niche builds like crit stacking with Leif as backups get +10 crit while Engaged and he has two innate crit weapons in Killer Axe and Light Brand. Both could theoretically be relevant on Halberdier?

    If you have DLC, Chrom Emblem can be very good on Sniper Lindon! It gives STR/DEX/SPD base, Surprise Attack lets you trigger Sniper's passive +10 Crit against enemy ranged units, Other Half gives you +1 Mov while engaged since you're Covert and +10 Mag for your Radiant Bow (as well as the free Chain Attack, both of which help with confirming kills against high DEF/RES enemies), and finally Brute Force is perfect for a high crit, not-so-high damage build. It's actually pretty darn synergystic.
    And if you have Chrom then you also have the Camilla engrave as an option, which is better than Erika's for Crit if you don't need the +40 Hit (and high Dex Snipers probably don't!) and can stomach the +1 Wt.

      I'm running him as royal knight because I want to try different classes, B staves, and I think the image of wise experience royal knight suits him well. He definitely needs strength fixing cause without it he can only deals like single digit damage and with crits can't kill most enemies still.
      Royal knight can also use flame lance (besides the obvious killer lance) which uses his rather high base magic. Right now I'm giving him speedtaker and torn between wrath or lance power. I guess I tend to go with lance power because the base damage without it will be too low. And yes chrom synergizes well with him

    Lindon on high priest is actually pretty good. Since it raises his hp cap so if you are running wrath it could make that work better with thunder tome dire thunder. You also become tankier to mages so you could tank a mage hit to increase your wrath crit easier.

    I never thought about making him a sniper… running him with Roy for the +6 Str and giving him Wrath (since Roy will give him the highest tier of Hold Out) seems like it’d actually be a strong build. Idk if you’d want to use Well SP to give him enough to also get Lunar Brace (3k more SP seems like quite a lot) but that bump to his damage might be necessary

The guys he came with slowly pushed through the fire to board the ship giving me time to take out the enemy wyverns and griffins while killing them before recruiting him with Alear. Also, speaking of Radiant Bow, Mauvier is the best Radiant Bow user.

  • @rattyxoxo7397

    One thing Lindon does really well is just being a Corrin Fire Wall/Staff bot that you don’t have to train to recruitment like Céline or Second Seal (though tbf when you get him Second Seals aren’t scarce it’s still saving some money). His only real competitor in this is Pandreo, but the 2000 SP means you can give him some stuff like Canter/Staff Proficiency/Divine Pulse which Pandreo cannot afford as easily, or he can just inherit Draconic Hex and use Thoron to debuff stuff if somebody else wants Corrin) maybe with Celica for Echo?). Late game I think Veyle just replaces him in this capacity for the Dragon Vein choices with Corrin but he still has a 5 chapter run where having a Flame Wall bot is very helpful, especially in Ch19, then if you don’t inherit anything before you can second seal him to Hero for Brave Dual Assist+ which is just nice to exist (though anybody can do this). He’s also just very goofy and I like his supports with Mauvier lmao

  • @magnuscarlsson9969

    Lindons best build in my opinion is Griffin Knight, running a +Magic stat Emblem alt Mage Knight(the passive don't work with Levin Sword). With DLC you just hand him Chrom tbh. it makes his lower base dmg crit higher and other crit builds don't need that anyways.
    He don't have massive growths in Strenght or Magic, however he can run 70-80% crit wielding a Killer Edge and Levin Sword(With a crit engraving). Being rank C swords means he will have his passive aviable against most enemies past his chapter and upgrading them for pure Mt will be cheap at this point. He have enought Bld to wield these weapons without any drawbacks. Because of his lower base stats you want to give him +Sword dmg once you get Roy back. A pure Endgame DLC build you probably want to run Sword Power +5 and Alacrity/Cantor(Brute Force if you give him Lyn, but that's a waste) other options for DLC is to gove him Weapon sync, since many emblems have a Sword, this would give him 5/7 damage without the negative evasion. Lindon will always be bad on enemy phase due to his squishyness, unless you make him a evasion tank.
    He don't need any +Spd at all as a Gryphon, he will be consistently doubling most enemies anyways and the enemies he can't double he's not great against in the first place pretty much only Sword masters and Griffin knights.. He carried my third Maddening run tbh. at first i was a bit dissapointed, but that all changed once he got a few more levels and caught up to the rest of the team.

    then I put him on radiant bow +4 with corrin engraving. he immediately works.
    put him with byleth. so he can dance if he does not have anything to do. plus byleth give magic.
    give him draconic hex with longbow. to debuff the enemies.
    overall, he is solid. not gamebreaking but a good support unit. he can crit with radiant bow, he can debuff with longbow, he can dance when there's nothing to do.

  • @InternetMonster1

    Lindon's supports are kind of funky, he has a Jean support which is pretty hard to come by, as well as Mauvier, but that is it in terms of usefulness. (Mauvier support is godawful giving only 10 hit). Boucheron, Saphier, Vander and Jade are not used much at all on harder difficulties so most of his supports will do nothing for you. He has Hortensia, but that isn't very useful since usually Lindon is an alternative to Hortensia.
    What is interesting is that Jean is a critical type of support, so you can have Jean attack and then allow Lindon to stand next to him and get an additional 6 crit.
    Theoretically, you can give him thunder and then engrave it with Erika, Corrin or Byleth. 20 Crit from Erika + 20 crit from passive + 6 crit from Jean + some from natural stats puts you at around 50% at all times. Then of course you hit twice, so if you have even a little additional magic damage you can blow up most foes. You can try for a speedtaker build, but I don't think it is all that good since Lindon is simply too slow to ever double strong foes even with boosts.
    If Lindon was recruitable earlier, he would be way better. Since you get Lindon right before getting back Celica, he isn't exactly saving anyone an Emblem ring slot. Assuming you only run 3-4 magic users there will be a slot for everyone; magic users like Corrin, Michaiah, Celica, Byleth, and occasionally Leif if you want to use Nova on Anna or Ivy. So by late game using Dire Thunder isn't allowing Ivy, Anna etc to have a ring since they all have an option.

    I think giving him wind god bond ring is actually a smart move on sniper because it gives +1 bow range at max health, and with a max killer bow + crit engraving, you can get more than enough crit to forego wrath. Just use lunar brace to boost damage
    If you have DLC, you can also use brute force to multiply crit damage by 1.33x

    I'm currently using him as Royal knight because he gets B staves in this class (plus more calvaries for lucina bond shield). I give him killer lance and flame lance (his mag is still high). However I notice is that his strength is pretty low in this class. You need to give him lance power and emblem giving plus strength. Without it he will get like single digit damage and even with crits the total damage is still rather low.
    Maybe his best class is warrior for that extra base strength. But I want to test royal knight cause I have too many warrior already lmao. I think chrom is good for him for that extra strength and 4x crits multiplier.

    Serene's forest lists all engage weapons as D tier so this is potentially abusable with Linden's passive. In particular, Celica's Ragnarok has 15 Mt 10 Crit 12 Wt. The obvious drawback is that you can't use engravings to achieve 50+ crit, but the upside is that these tend to have significantly higher Mt than killer weapons.

    Eirika Sniper Lindon is INSANE, but honestly now I’m considering warrior. His gets so much free crit he probably never needs the high dex from Sniper as long as he can hit things. Warrior fixes his strength and gives him 90 growth in HP so he can actually utilize Wrath funnily enough.

  • @plentyofpaper
    @plentyofpaper Год назад

    Dire Thunder I think is the best way to run him since it synergizes with his personal ability.
    I'd lean away from tossing Wrath on the set though. I don't think it's the worst idea by any means, but it involves exposing him to danger, which I'm hesitant to do with sages. Still, he's a bit tankier than the other sage options, so if you're going to run Wrath on a sage, Lindon is the best choice.
    For the engraving, Lyn and Corrin's engravings I tend to put on killer weapons for other units. The decreased weight from Lyn's doesn't help Thunder offensively. Eirika's engraving however penalizes dodge, which is a no-go for 1 range units. But Thunder has 1-3 range, it almost never gets hit back, which makes it great for working around Eirika's weakness. Lindon comes with 2000 SP, which is enough for Canter+ immediately. Lindon can strike a target from 3 range, then if he fails to kill it, retreat up to 3 tiles, which puts 5 tiles between him and his opponent. Eirika's engraving also has the distinction of being the only engraving with Crit +20 without an Mt penalty. I think it's perhaps the hardest engraving to use effectively, and this is likely the best use for it.
    I ran him as mainly support with Dire Thunder and 4 staffs, Canter+ and Reposition. Reposition I find is super helpful on turn 1 to get to some hard to reach enemies, but most users fall behind the pack when doing this. Since Lindon has staff access, if he needs to catch up, he can actually just burn an Obstruct at any time for +3 movement from Canter+. Handy!
    In any case, I think this is the more support oriented cousin of the wrath set. It definitely does not pack the same punch, but it's an incredibly safe set. For my hard mode iron man, he managed to pull off a decent number of kills, and I believe he was exposed to enemy phase combat a total of once. For that instance, I traded Thunder off of him to avoid the risk of a critical hit. I'd rather have him unarmed than have a 10% chance of him dying. Definitely a niche scenario though.
    One other property Lindon has that's really nice is an excellent build stat, 10 when he joins. Right out of the gate, he only takes 1 slowdown from Bolganone. Lindon's joins at internal level 23 with 19 speed and 10 build. That's 18 speed while using Bolganone. Anna at the same level is expected to have 18 speed 7 build, which puts her at 14 while wielding Bolganone. Pandreo would have an effective speed of 20, Ivy and Hortensia 15.
    So while Bolganone may seem at odds with Lindon's ability, it's actually pretty potent in his hands, particularly if you don't want to play the Dire Thunder lottery.
    As a note on the Radiant Bow, it's not just effective at dealing with Wyverns. Despite hitting Res instead of Def, the base might of 19 triples to a massive 57, even unrefined. At base Warrior, he'd have 12 Mag. So his M. Attack would be 31 regularly, 69 against fliers. Radiant Bow is cheap to refine as well, so I'd advise at least +3, translating to 34 and 78. The Killer Axe would be 31 P attack. Killer Bow 27, 41 against fliers. If the Killer Bow is at +3, that's still only 50. Late game Griffin Knights have about 6-8 higher Res than Def, but the Radiant Bow would still outdamage the killer bow by ballpark 20 per strike, and 1 shot any flier until very late game.
    Interestingly, as a sage, 31 M. attack is what he would get from Elfire, 36 from Bolganone. So the Warrior build, which I had not previously considered, actually strikes me as surprisingly potent. Damage output with the Radiant Bow actually doesn't trail too far behind what a sage will do (although the gap will increase somewhat due to the lower magic growth.)

    • @melon42301

      If you want to use wrath can’t you just have someone use Corrin to spawn flames on him

    • @plentyofpaper
      @plentyofpaper Год назад

      @@melon42301 Interesting idea. You could definitely do that. It's a little cumbersome to design your tactics around that, but really, it seems more like use fire almost like normal, and just have Lindon make some odd moves.
      I was also thinking Great Sacrifice would be a real fast way to get this done, although that won't work with the Dire Thunder build. That's a bit of a throwback to Radiant Dawn Micaiah's Sacrifice+Wrath+Purge build. Fun stuff :)
      The other self-damage options I can think of are chain guard, but qi adepts don't lend themselves well to crit builds (Wrath Seadall sounds amazing though.) and Reforge on Royal Knights. But Royal Knights I think are happy to take damage the old fashioned way.
      Ultimately, if you want to safely run Wrath on a sage, I think you're idea of Vein of Fire is probably the strongest option.

  • @ino_mation

    Don't know why everyone overlooks Elsurge, it has 13 Mt and 10 Crit, Rank C, and it'll literally never miss. Yeah I'd probably never use it on other Mages, but it's built for Lindon w/ Corrin engraving imo. It'll have 11 Mt and 40 Crit w/ Corrin engraving, which doesn't boost hit but Elsurge doesn't need the +hit, and that's before refining. Yes it's only 1 range, but it becomes 3 range under Byleth engage, use Vantage and he'll have an easy 60% crit just from tome+corrin+personal, add another +10% from his base dex, that's 70% crit before wrath. His base mag is 19, add 11 from Elsurge. Byleth boosts Mag and Spd, +3/ea at level 20, and he has 50% Mag growth in any mage class, 55% as Sage, so he'll be gaining Mag every other level on Fixed. If you keep him as Sage, he gets that benefit from nearby tome units as well. Resonance could also be useful to get down to Vantage++ hp range while giving +2/3 dmg, but at least prior to the well it was kinda expensive.
    Arguably if looking at DLC, Veronica would also just be insane for him no matter what weapon he uses, as +30/50% of missing hp as damage, with Wrath, just makes him basically guaranteed to crit for insane numbers when low health.

    Lindon joins with 2500 SP, so with about five levels he would have the sp needed for lunar brace even without the Well sp scrolls. I have tried Lindon as a sniper and as warrior, warrior is better overall compared to sniper, Lindon has so much crit for free with a killer weapon No Distraction doesn't really do that much for him as he will have 80+% crit as a warrior. Warrior gives him higher strength growth and a higher base strength which is probably a far better choice when compared to having slightly closer to 100% crit. Also with Well abuse you can give Lindon axe power from Ike to make him into a second panette in terms of raw damage from axe crits with the combination of lunar brace and axe power with an engraved killer axe.

    • @magnuscarlsson9969
      @magnuscarlsson9969 Год назад

      I ran a similar build, but i went the Griffin route. It's lower base dmg, however critting for 65+ or 100+ don't really matter much. Griffin gave him diversity to use a levin sword and even without a engraving he sits at 40-50% crit due to his passive, I did however engrave it since he was so consistent on player phase. Having somewhat low stats are kinda ok when you don't have to fix things such as speed etc. I just gave him Sword power pre DLC and now with DLC and the well I'd probably just give him Weapon Sync and a emblem who use Swords, so he can have overall higher avoidance rates.
      Giving him Chrom is also kinda interesting for that extra crit dmg multiplier and +10 mag when engaged.
