Cody here! Brad - thanks for your honest review and kind words! Our goal is to bring the most affordable, best quality product to anglers around the world and your review helps us spread the word. THANK YOU!!!!
Been using your 50lb braid, so far its holding up well. Your x8 braid.. not so well. Break at nots easily, line breaks quickly especially after minor abrasion.
20 years of fishing I will admit @ReactionTackle has impressed me, for the price the performance really keeps up compared to a lot of expensive lines out there 832 performance/power pro. The fact that I can say I spooled a VR175, 8K Saragosa, 8000D, and 2 Avet SXJ's for a little over $40 of #50 braid.. That would of ran me at least $200+ with Power Pro. Ive been using it about 2-3 years now and have not seen any issue in performance. Something noticeable to me is MOST cheap braided lines bleed dye like crazy, not with reaction.
My family and I had been successfully using suffix 832 for over 6 years. Due to the overwhelming volume of excellent reviews, I decided to give Reaction Tackle a try approximately a year ago. On my Stella and SW Twinpower, I use 40lb and 50lb. Pull smokers like huge King and jack mackerel. Hold on like the 832 and the pricing range is extremely good. Because I prefer to switch up my line every season or two, I've settled on RT braid.
I've been using the reaction braid inshore for the past year and a half. Its held up beside normal power pro well. For the price its been a great switch for me.
I've been using the reaction tackle 80lb for my heavy tarpon setup. I'm pretty pleased with it. I dont notice any difference between it and original power pro. Other than I was able to buy 2k yards for like 50 bucks lol
Landed a 6ft Blacktip on 30lb Reaction tackle, been my go to for a while now mostly for the bang for your buck. But their new no fade colors really hold up on my inshore setup
New out of the box is one aspect of good line but/and I hate to omit this but I’ve had power pro on a few reels for over ten years and it’s still performing, set up in storage mostly but still will pull a fish out of the rocks, I’m one of those that will pull the line off the reel onto another reel and that’s brand new never used line again.
Reaction tackle has been reliable. Caught 40inch stripe bass on several times on a pier and pulling them up with dead weight and have never popped 2 yrs running
I been using kast king for years and strength wise is holds up but it inevitably blows on spinning reels because it clings to itself. I don't cheap out on anything but braid and maybe that's a mistake but I might try reaction braid before wasting money on power pro, since again I've never had complaints on strength with KK just it sticks to itself over.time
Power pro isn’t a waste of money. From most accounts, the reaction tackle stuff is pretty good and I’m about to try some out this season…but power pro and sufix are probably the best braids on the planet. I fish almost a hundred days a year and I’ve had spools last several years, only getting better with time as they get more and more limp. That’s the direct, polar opposite 180 of wasting your money…buying cheap stuff is the actual waste of money and/or effort in the long run since you have to replace it more frequently.
@@reactiontackle I did…shortly after this post, I loaded up a couple aldebarans with your 4 strand. Holding strong after half the season and the color hasn’t yet faded which is definitely nice. I can’t, in good faith, give a 100% “👍👍” simply because I haven’t used it for years like the others. But as of now, it’s certainly the best budget-oriented braid I’ve encountered
Just tried reaction tackle for the first time and ended up with a big wod knotted up in the middle of my line. Possibly user error? But it’s never happened prior to switching to cheap line
It shouldn't matter as long as the weak link doesn't become the braided line or your rod. For my 8 foot medium heavy with a 17 pound max monocarbon limit, I'm using a 50 pound reaction tackle braid with a 25 pound flouro leader.
If you're doing a comparison between lines why would you change the luer from one line to the other? You just defeated the whole purpose on cast ability.
He's using an 8 strand and a 4 strand which are just different animals. I love the characteristics of 8 strand but I fight wind knots with it constantly! Recently got kastking 4 strand and I'm very happy with it. Spiderwire is good too and comes in 300 yd spools

Did you get the X8 reaction braid or the PE (standard) basic braid?ive used the basic and never broken. A line or lost tackle. Unlike the Yo-Zuri that ive had 2 line breaks and lost some expensive frogs
I've used Hercules 50, 60, 80# four and eight strand dark green for years and had good results. Then I got their 50# blue camo and it stunk - 20-25 lb breaking strain failure (no knots, actual line strength). Bad batch?
Went to buy that power pro today and the tackle shop I went to had it for sale for 44 for 150 yards yeah went for the 15$ diwa braid I’ll go for reaction tackle next season

Definitely reaction tackle is the winner as you are using an 8strand power pro( bs-13.6) and 4 strand reaction tackle braid(bs- 13.10)...I must admit awesome comparison video...I'm planning to get 150pounder line for my setup!!!👍
I know this is an older video, but the difference in noise is because the PowerPro is an 8 carrier braid and the Reaction tackle is only a 4 carrier braid. Reaction Tackle does have an 8 carrier braid that is more comparable to the 8 carrier powerpro.

Brad, I hope looking back at this video a few years later, you think to yourself, “Gosh, I sure could have done a better job with this comparative review.” While I get you could not very well chase your casts out into the surf to measure their lengths, do you suppose you could have cast them someplace else, like along the beach, measured five casts with each line to where it landed in the sand, and compared the average? Oh, and maybe, if you thought of it, use the exact same lure or weight tied on the end of both lines for the distance test. It wasn’t clear to me whether you had the exact same rod for each set up. You did say that you had the same reels, but if you don’t have the same rod, then that also renders your subjective guessing on distance pretty meaningless, also. As for breaking strength of the line, I’ve seen other reviews that slowly filled a bucket with water, and then weighed the bucket to get a more accurate test of the breaking strength. Additionally, some sort of abrasion test might have been helpful as well. If you are going to compare and test equipment, I suggest you focus primarily on the testing and comparison. This video was 98% Bearded Brad casting into the water and very little actual content on the subject of the video’s title. I am glad I skimmed through most of the video because otherwise, that would’ve been a colossal waste of time.
That video was fine, all well and good and good fishing..... in terms of the title of the video to the content received.. awful. You cast rest as you change the line you changed the spinner resulting in a unfair comparison... you then changed back later on... felt like you forgot what the video content was... then to test the breaking strain... you had line rubbing on the corners of the woods (rubbing is a no for braid and sharper edges) and then used your own force.. pulling and shaking yourself.. awful accuracy... 24 minutes and just unfair and unthought out test. I don’t see why you didn’t just cast out on clear beach (low tide) and record your distances... then for the breaking strain. Mount the line up high and increase gym weights from the bottom until it gives way??
i bought a spool of 1500 yds of 100 lb reaction tackle for around 40 bucks to use on my big rod, hooked a couple of fish and it holds up just now i gotta land one 😂😂😂
So scared to buy this. I catch a couple 50+ pound catfish yearly. Actually just caught a 51 pound flathead a couple weeks ago in the missouri river. I want to get 1500 yards of their 80lb but I am so scared I'm gonna lose a big catfish if I try this braid.
FYI works great, no problem with the 66lb blue catfish i caught early this week! I haven't done a line test to see how accurate the 100lb test is but I'm very satisfied so far with the price!
Was this a fishing video or a line comparison? "I did switch out the lures see if I can get them to hit something different, so this one is a little lighter so I can't really compare exact cast ability right between these two." WTF? You want me to continue watching you fishing and rambling on with your pre-concieved conclusions? No thanks!
Before i even watch this video there's two things i cannot stop preaching about and that is about the 2 most important pieces of your gear. Guess what? it's not your rod or your reel however it is your hook and your line because without this two you cannot land a fish. You can hand line fish with just a hook and some line. Always choose the best quality hooks and always choose best quality line, you can skimp out on the rest of your gear, catching fish is more important. So don't save a buck on hooks and don't save a buck on line unless you want more heartbreaks than celebrations. You get what you pay for. Quality and cheap don't mix in the same sentence.
Yet expensive doesn't always mean the best. Often the name brand is the same or similar product and sometimes from the same factory, but you're paying for their marketing/overhead. Whether you should support the name brands is a different topic.
Remember if you catch the fish you lose, if fish gets off you win, the object is to keep fish from getting caught. !! Do you now how to be the Winner, just for laughs, are you Winner or a Loser. Lolololll??
My 20lb test with reaction tackle was a fail. Line broke before the 20lb weight even moved. I threw the whole thing away. Unspooled it and tossed it all in the trash. Not sure what the breaking point is but it broke way too soon for my tackle to be tossed away. I wish it did hold up but it was a fail. Maybe I had a dry rotted spool? Then quality control is an issue. Either way they have some work to do.
Once you said your using a different lighter lure I said I’m done watching it no longer makes any sense if it’s a comparison then should be same kind of reel Rod and lure ?? If not it’s not a true comparison your putting the cheaper brand of braid at a disadvantage using a lighter lure

This is not a comparison why switch lures when comparing? Your way of comparison does not make sense no use in watching.
Power pro needs to retire. Better quality and price out there. Kast king produce better braid. Come on already
That's not a fair test comparing 8 strand to 4 strand. Way different characteristics
