    A lot of people have been asking for a review of this Beyond Braid line...
    Is it really that strong?
    Does it really cast farther?
    In my quest to find the best line on the market, I tested out PowerPro Maxcuarto vs. Beyond Braid.
    This turned out to be very one-sided.
    See the very surprising results in this video!
    Have you used Beyond Braid?
    What did you think?
    Let me know down in the comments!
    P.S. Normally I would do a casting contest between these two lines but considering the poor performance, I am not going to waste my time or yours.
    Note: We do sell either of these items so this is a totally unbiased tackle recommendation based on the true performance of the products.

  • @reedafd5787

    This kind of confirms my not-quite-so scientific testing process.
    I bought some 50# Beyond Braid, spooled up a Shimano Saragosa 6000 with it, and did some testing as more of an afterthought.
    I tried multiple evolutions of multiple knots, and the best I could come up with was an ~ 34# breaking strength with a modified (2 wraps around the hook/swivel), 5 wrap uni knot.
    I had palomar knots breaking around 25#.
    Very disappointed with this line.
    It sounds/looks/feels great, but just doesn’t cut it concerning knot strength.

  • @Rex73777
    @Rex73777 3 года назад +3

    A key thing to understand about ropes is wherever you tie a knot it lowers the strength of the rope at the knot.
    If there was a way to test just the breaking strength of the line without tying a knot I bet that it would be above the 20 lb rating.
    However once the knot is tied it's going to lower the strength of the line below that 20 lb rating.

    • @drc022800
      @drc022800 3 года назад +2

      True but in fishing theres no scenario where you wont have to tie a knot on to your leader/hook. You almost always have to tie atleast one knot

      I know this sounds strange but the 8 strand is supposed to be smoother casting line but less strength where the 4 strand is stronger but doesn’t cast as smooth. Has to do with the larger individual line diameter or the 4 strand one which is slightly more abrasion resistant.

    Beyond braid is actually my favorite brand of braid and so far the only company I haven’t had issues with. I got a bad spool of daiwa jbraid and they wouldn’t replace it even after sending them the pictures of the ruined line. Bought another spool anyways and it kept digging into itself and it broke on what was probably a 2 or maybe 3lb bass. Went to beyond braid and never looked back I love the moss camo. I only throw 50-80lb braid depending on what I’m doing. So even if it is slightly weaker than advertised it has still landed me fish close to the ratings with no issues. 85lb flathead is the biggest landed on beyond braid 80lb line.

      BKBAITS Al I just don’t like 8x braid. It’s more likely to dig and a hell of a lot less abrasion resistant than 4x and where I fish is extremely thick nasty cover and fish for a lot of large flatheads and musky that will dig 8x braid so bad it will snap the line at the reel. @@Distantttt never try the ProCat braid, it's a nightmare for wind knots, cheap as dirt tho, I use it to make slips now.

      You have to use a method that is repeatable to get useable data. You could certainly use a rod but the results would be the same in this type test.
