Great vid. I didn't realize there was so many variations of this line. I use 20 pound v2 with my bobber set up. sliding bobber sliding weight swivel fluorocarbon leader to a jig and a worm, excellent for trout in the stocker lakes up here in Alberta Can. The 20 pound seems to float and manage great,and I can still cast a mile with it. I do notice that the color green seems to fade out pretty fast so I end up with a off grey color before summer is over. I don't think this weaken the line. Did some subtraction here and there from where most of us initially overestimated strengths needed (smallmouth uses) and the original Micro Line system with the TSR 791 glx changed my smallmouth fishing forever. Referenced that fact on In Fisherman with my friend Mr Kehde often. I’m blessed to own nearly all of the NRX spins nowadays and you can guess which 5 and 8lb braid adorn them all. Keep doing what you do 👍

Video suggestion: you should do a video of the four main knots for braid to flouro/mono - leaders/top shot connections: PR using Shimano bobbin, FG, John Collins (Royal Polaris) and threaded into Hollow Ace finished with alternating half-hitches + locking loop.
Thanks! I have done a few FG knot videos and a FG vs SC knot video as well. Never have tied the PR Bobbin or others as I have total faith in the FG. Been using it for 7 years from panfish to Bluefin Tuna.
@@philipfalco7304 Concerning trout seeing the line, just look at all of the vibrant colors fly fisherman use for their mainline. Bright as hell. With a fluoro leader, I’m not convinced that mainline color matters at all. Just run it.

For extra casting distance the MaxCuatro is tough to beat. That’s what we throw for Cuberas and Yellowfin in Panama. Both will work fine but the Max is like throwing 80lb for distance with its smaller diameter. I know it costs more but if casting distance is a priority it’s worth its weight in gold.
Excellent video. What braid would you suggest fishing in Florida for monster hybrid largemouth bass? The bass are under a lot of grass and vegitation. I'll be using shiner as bait.
I’ve never shiner fished before but typically for fishing Florida with artificial lures like Chatterbaits, swimbaits and jigs I use 65 lb PowerPro Super8Slick V2. For live bait you may want to go lighter. The super8slick has an EBT coating that helps with abrasion resistance. You will also want a Florocarbon Leader for invisibility and additional abrasion resistance.
I use Maxcuatro because I don't like the waxy coating that gets all over and in the rod and reel. I'm interested to find another line that offers a clean, wax free solution.
I wanted to use some braid and my g loomis nrx nrr for Ned rig and just like to know what line would you use for better casting distance the power pro 5 lbs or power pro v2 8lbs ?
Not sure if you a Saltwater Fisherman or not, I’m looking for 100lb line for my Saltiga 20k, was looking at Varivas , apparently very good but doesn’t last nearly as long as Power Pro, think I’m going to get Power Pro, anything to mention that I’m not taking into consideration?
@@OsamaDaLama will because the felt sensitive and smooth going through the guide quite and last of all it's much more thinner than other brands, plus it doesn't fray easily like other brand from my experience like for example power pro, specially under 20lbs test, but that's just my opinion you have to make your own judgement; just because someone like someone like something doesn't mean you're going like it too, this can be applies with everything you see or buy, you just have to experience it yourself to be honest
Because of the heavy currents I would go with Macuatro 20lb braid as the smaller diameter will cut the current better, you can get away with 30lb as well but I would use 20 lb in a high viz color like white so you can detect those more subtle taps you often get when jig fishing. Both will work on the Tranx 150
The real question what you're going do, like what's your application, that's the real question you should ask yourself first? for rocky area 30lbs+ test the best my experience

As a michigan salmon angler, power pro is my go to. I normally throw 30lb powerpro in the rivers during the fall, and it is always reliable.

I use 3 different colors so I know which reel has what on it. I use red for 5 lb, onyx or moonshine for 8 lb and either blue or yellow for 10lb.

I’m a big MaxCuatro fan as well but still use a lot of the original Power Pro quite a bit.

5 lb would have the best casting distance
Power Pro is okay if you don't much about line, but i'm prefer Varivas and YGK and Seaguar, because performance wise is a bit better than Power Pro
