Hey I like your reviews man. You do a really good job. Totally honest, because you're not reviewing a brand new car and have to pander to a car company. Nice 👌 Most of us don't buy new cars anyway so, it's also good that you sell the vehicle that you review. Best of luck man. New subscriber. 😉🤙
I mean yes but that said he is selling the car he's reviewing, so part of me takes the positive comments with a skeptical grain of salt 😂it'd be nice to know - if it's so great, why aren't you keeping it?
@Sam-go3mb He also mentions some of the cars negative traits as well. It's nice to see someone reviewing 2nd hand cars and what I've gathered is that he flips cars. So he probably doesn't have room to keep them all. I'm sure that in the future he may find a plum, and keep it.
@@OliverMoore1973 I know, he's still honest, I've heard him make legitimate criticisms of some of the cars he's selling - but it always ends on overall positive, I'm sure you'll never hear anyone sane who is selling a car say, this isn't a great car and I wouldn't recommend it, but it is for sale so please, place a bid.
When these first came out and drove a mates mk5, I thought they were tonnes of fun, the steering, linear power and brakes I thought were bang on! Would be a great daily
Yeah honestly I've come round to them. Certainly not the most "raw" driving experience and some might find it a bit soulless, but they're a great all round package.
i would recommend a synthetic clay mitt over a proper clay bar I swear to god the first tiem i used a clay bar it took me soooooooooo long becuase the clay is so small, the mitt is much bigger and easier to use haha
@kiwicarlife you don’t need to replace the whole door itself, all you need is the outer skin they bolt on and bolt off for example a window regulator you’d take the skin off and do the job from the outside
Yeah I guess most of the cars at these yards are already damaged and bent out of shape so it doesn't really matter. But there are some drivable ones they still put on the forklift... very annoying
Those headlight eyebrows are terrible! The contis at least say it wasn’t neglected too much, better than some hifly or whatever ling long ditchfinders people throw on.
Throwing cheap tyres on fun cars are just strange - like, do you want your GTI to handle like a normal Golf, or worse, a Nissan? Also the former owners did do the timing belts too, so that's also a good sign.
It certainly has scrubbed up nicely. Whats the ride like with the lowering springs? Would you have to reskin the doors to get rid of the damage to the passenger door? How mucht time do you think you put into the whole clean up?
It's honestly not too bad, I've definitely had worse riding cars. And nah I'd just get some used doors if I wanted to fix it. Took me two whole days to do everything
Do you have any general advice for buying a car sight unseen? There's a wagon I'm interested in all the way up in BoP (and I'm in Chch) and they don't come up very often. Never done it before. It's not a life-altering sum if the purchase goes wrong but still want it to go as smoothly as possible.
I used to buy and sell cars all over NZ (in Aussie now). Get videos of the car running, pics of fluids and dipsticks. Also, see if they’ll meet you somewhere that is a little bit of a drive for them. To make sure the car can be driven warmed up for some time. Outside of that, tick off all of the specific stuff and known issues for the car you’re looking at. Carjam check can be well worth it as well.

Seems to me a better idea to invest in a waterblaster rather than go to the wash place.
What NZer doesn't have a water blaster 😂

Sound purchase for the k’s, I quite like the wheels on it too.

Why do they insist on forking car that can be driven? It's just extra damage.

For damaged cars on their damaged vehicle/truck sites, for some reason, yes.
@@GiddyDingus that is so stupid, just because it's damaged doesn't mean you need to crush the body rails that are used to secure a jack.

just needs some long red spiky wheel nuts to match the grill trim

NZ Hoovies Garage (kind of)

Are turners buyers fees bad?
20% so yeah very bad haha. Absolute rip off tbh
would you recommend a golf gti (mk6) or an audi s3 (8p)
Audi s3 imo
S3 better car mk6 looks better
I’ve had both. S3 is cooler being a 2door. Also comes with the Haldex system and can be easier to find manual (which is what you want in either car).
S3 has the higher power engine too. Audi always keeps the best for themselves.
