Thank you for embracing Jamaica and the simplicity in explaining this recipe. I am not only Jamaican but also an Indian one. #great

@@alexawoolery3086 I'm Jamaican and I've grown up seeing family cook and eat chutney with various dishes. Maybe it's the Indian influence in our culture.

Lovely interpretation of the Jamaican Mango chutney recipes. We may use different types of pepper but its still pepper, I personally use cayenne pepper sometimes and it still taste as good

We peel mangoes the different way..hold the mango around your palm, run the sharp knife around the mango to remove the skin..no waste at all !

Using a spoon to scoop out the mango chunks doesn't waste it as much

It is easy to peel that way but it is waste of mangoes. And I am shocked to see the middle of mango was left out. Mango is great fruit and one of my fav T-T

I had the same reaction, looked like a huge waste of the flesh doing it that way. I peel them with a veg peeler, slice them close to the pit as I can, then chop up. Probably a little more work but worth it.

Looks like it's easy enough that I could do it. In fact, I just might. After making it like this, maybe I'll experiment, like using golden raisins or cranberries or such. But I should make it the way I saw it first.

Some heat not too hot, half a scotch bonnet pepper.

I think this is an awesome base recipe. In fact, I'm writing it down. But when I make mango chutney, to this amount - just a guess -- I'd add two cinnamon sticks, 8 cloves (as in cloves the spice), a teaspoon of cumin, 4-8 cardamom pods smashed, maybe a 1/2 teaspoon allspice, 1 teaspoon cumin. I make up my chutney recipe every year. I think this is an outstanding basic recipe that I'm writing down and adding my spices to it from here on out. Thanks for making the video!

Nice recipe but I too am not liking how much mango was wasted from the sides. Unless you have a mango tree, mangos are expensive! I do have mangos but relish every single drop! Also all that onion that was discarded? Why not teach people to use all they can instead of being so wasteful?
