Thank you for embracing Jamaica and the simplicity in explaining this recipe. I am not only Jamaican but also an Indian one. #great
I am Jamaican and I love that u r embracing and showcasing our culture. Ur recipe was beautifully executed and explained. The raisins r optional here in our recipe.
So am I but Jamaicans don't use chutney it's an Asian dish
@@alexawoolery3086 I'm Jamaican and I've grown up seeing family cook and eat chutney with various dishes. Maybe it's the Indian influence in our culture.
Glad you know so much about my island! Awesome
Lovely interpretation of the Jamaican Mango chutney recipes. We may use different types of pepper but its still pepper, I personally use cayenne pepper sometimes and it still taste as good
I drink while I cook, whenever possible, this lady is clearly doing the same thing.
Thank you very much for your lovely recipe 🙏🏻🌷
We peel mangoes the different way..hold the mango around your palm, run the sharp knife around the mango to remove the skin..no waste at all !
Pretty darn good looking.
This is a wonderful recipe
Great video. I am going to try this now and let you know
Thank you Martha I've been making mango Jam and chutney since November when I visited your channel. I've made lots and given away much as I have 4,mango trees. We all love your recipe and looking forward to other recipes.
I just love the taste mango chutney
Looks great! BTW YOU HAVE REALLY PRETTY HAIR!
Love this gon make tonight
Using a spoon to scoop out the mango chunks doesn't waste it as much
It is easy to peel that way but it is waste of mangoes. And I am shocked to see the middle of mango was left out. Mango is great fruit and one of my fav T-T
I had the same reaction, looked like a huge waste of the flesh doing it that way. I peel them with a veg peeler, slice them close to the pit as I can, then chop up. Probably a little more work but worth it.
yep. 1/3 of the mango was tossed? What the heck?
I do it like her but then I eat off the skin and don't waste any of that flesh as a snack while I'm working
I just made it and it was delicious. I added pickled jalapeños to give it a kick. Thanks!
Looks like it's easy enough that I could do it. In fact, I just might. After making it like this, maybe I'll experiment, like using golden raisins or cranberries or such. But I should make it the way I saw it first.
One ingredient more.
Some heat not too hot, half a scotch bonnet pepper.
I like your way of cocking, brilliant 👍🏻
i like your interpretation of our chutney :) and you dont ave to use scotch bonnet pepper not all Jamaicans like spicy food and yes our ginger is amazing ginger tea is really medicinal :)
And i apologize for the unnecessary aggregation by the other person, take care God bess you
what is the name of your cookbook
I prefer the Jamaican version to the Indian! I love the flavours.
I think this is an awesome base recipe. In fact, I'm writing it down. But when I make mango chutney, to this amount - just a guess -- I'd add two cinnamon sticks, 8 cloves (as in cloves the spice), a teaspoon of cumin, 4-8 cardamom pods smashed, maybe a 1/2 teaspoon allspice, 1 teaspoon cumin. I make up my chutney recipe every year. I think this is an outstanding basic recipe that I'm writing down and adding my spices to it from here on out. Thanks for making the video!

How much mangoes went in this portion?
Nice recipe but I too am not liking how much mango was wasted from the sides. Unless you have a mango tree, mangos are expensive! I do have mangos but relish every single drop! Also all that onion that was discarded? Why not teach people to use all they can instead of being so wasteful?
Really cool recipe, I tried on my channel from Hong Kong but without sugar and chilli, tasted amazing! Papaya sounds nice! Check it out if you want to see more food from here 🌆🥭🙂
You're making a real dog's breakfast of de-fleshing those mangoes.
so much wasted mango by your lazy hand.
A lot of talk, need more how !
The presenter is demonstrating how it's done as she explains the process and telling a story. Love it
Sister you cut your palm oh I'm sorry 🥺
