    Hi Blakely. I'm always looking for ideas for my extra mangoes and I tried your recipe. It is fabulous! It will be come my own family secret now. My wive makes something similar with grapes and the family goes nuts for it. I might have her beat on this one because we all love mangoes. Thank you! In my avatar that is a mango tree behind me.

    I peel the mango with a peeler than cut it. but will try this method

    Sugar causes inflammation. Best to use dates plus with the raisins you dont need the sugar

    This does sound like it would be great on a plate with some blackened red snapper and rice pilaf, OR some tasty fish tacos which you're much more likely to find here in the Rockies. As always, thanks for another simple and tasty recipe.

      Hi Gary! Unfortunately no- you need the sugar in order to make the chutney thick. I'm sure there are recipes that are sugar free but they aren't as good :-/

      Mango is high in pectin which is a natural thickener, you can try this without sugar absolutely
