Saul again with perfect balance between entertaining, charismatic and professional. gotta love him
Should have a full time show about cookin
I’ve never seen him before he’s great
Si
He is xtra charismatic
Yeah feel free to give this chef his own regular daily show, Epicurious 🤓
I would love a show with Chef Saul and Chef Frank. Just those two making food.
chef frank has his own channel, "protocooks with chef frank" though the posts are erratic. chef saul also has a channel "Chef Saúl Montiel" though there's only about 20+ videos and he hasn't posted in about a year. enjoy
Yes!!!🎉🎉🎉
Omg yessss!! I love them two!!
Can Chef John (Food Wishes) join?
@@mavissmith3 The Dad jokes would cause us to implode.
I can't believe I get paid to do this. Love Saul. Love seeing the passion.
What do you do? :)
Probably makes guacamole
@@mikebasketball11that’s what Saul said.
Lol same. Fun to prep

Chef Saul's spoon drop is the most wholesome thing to happen in kitchen.
Are there more videos with Saul? If not, there needs to be. I want to see him make mole enchiladas! Yum 🤤
He did two separate videos last year! One for enchiladas and one for chicken mole. They’re on Epicurious as well.
I think he should start his own channel!
@@MichaelOKChe has his own show, didn't you know?
Eres un orgullo, Saúl
Oh yeah. Enchiladas de mole. Mmmmmm
Can we get more videos of Chef Saul alone like this please!! LOVE IT!
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate a chef that takes care of his finger nails and cuticles. Bravo! for taking care of yourself. There are so many chefs/cooks on TV and RUclips that have horrible looking nails and it’s so unappetizing. Oh and thank you for showing us the proper way to make guacamole. 🥑🥑🥑🥑🥑🥑
Could you mix the onions and Serrano in a mini food processor?
I'd love to see two cheffs getting the same random ingredients and they'd have to make dishes out of them. Preferably Chef Saul and Chef Frank. They always have really creative ideas.
Pureeing the onion and serrano. Brilliant. Once again Saul representing culture and cuisine with pure grace 👑
SAUL: Mexican Cooking Masterclass WHEN?? I would seriously buy your course.
Just did this yesterday!!! Everything in almost exact same molcajete as you. I use about 4 cloves of garlic and skip the tomatoes. Crushing everything in a molcajete takes the flavor to a whole new level!!!!! I use mine every day!
while I've known you traditionally use a molcajete to make guacamole I didn't realize you wanted to crush the cilantro and onions and garlic in there like that! I always just toss them in. (I always use garlic.) Also, I find that when just using a bowl, a squiggly potato masher works wonders for quickly mashing everything up. The wire mashes and the gaps let pieces come through.
Same
As a mexican, I confirm that sometimes we just toss the ingredients without smashing them or using molcajete. It's easier but still tasty. Also, I like adding olive oil and black pepper!
I like a less creamy guacamole personally so I only lightly mash with a fork which also lets pieces squish through
Gotta admit I toss them in, too, but I’m going to do it his way, I bet it gives a huge boost in flavor!
Quick tip. Place the avocados in a sealed gallon-sized ziplock bag along with a tomato and store them in the refrigerator for approximately one to two days to ripen them.
The tomato releases ethylene gas, which ripens the avocados. The refrigeration helps maintain the avocados' freshness while they ripen.
This is a goat tip, thanks!
Yes and don't skip out on the lime as an ingredient. It's chemicals help the guacamole stay bright green
also the seed of the avocado when placed in the guacamole GREATLY increases the time for the avocado/guacamole to go dark. I thought chef saul was going to mention this. This is useful info if you want to store the guacamole in the fridge @@Kyle-nm1kh
Refrigeration will rob avocado & tomato of flavor & texture. Better to put in brown paper bag to ripen on shelf at room temperature.
Makes no sense to ripen in the cold, also the tomatoes outside the summer are so fake that i doubt they have what to release
Saul is so lovely and adorable
In Northern Europe we don't have a chance to replicate Mexican food properly. Our chillies barely have names (other than jalapeno), and our avocados are all either unripe or overripe - there is no inbetween! Our supermarkets mix a tiny amount of avocado with an amazing amount of mayonnaise, and call it guacamole. We really need to up our game :)
Not surprising. Spain is the only European country with any significant avocado production.
Mexican here. buy the unripe 2 days before preparation let the avocado out of the frigde. Gonna be on point for guacamole.
Sad!
I lived in Mexico as a child - such beautiful, warm-hearted, kind people. All the food we loved there bring back wonderful memories ❤
Grande Saul, I can’t believe seeing your face on RUclips by chance after briefly working together at Gusto Restaurant in Greenwich Av in New York City back in 2005/2006! You came a long way my hermano 🎉❤
Back in Miami, Mexican food and I had a 'see you later' kind of relationship, more fleeting than a Floridian snowstorm 😂 But now that I saw chef Saúl for first time, I'm rediscovering my love for it once again 🙌
Saul has the best personality and humor!
I see Saul I click
Literally my thought process lol
Saul is truly a gem of a human
I think we can all feel your love for food Saul!!! This video makes food lovers so happy :) Thank you for a great recipe!
I love how the chef explains small details, thanks chef!
I used to not like avocado or cilantro that much until I made guacamole. Lime, cilantro, and avocado really is the perfect combo
Simple and you can actually taste the avocado versus overpowering it with other ingredients
The "turn the page" music when he's going to twist open the avocado. Brought me back to my childhood and my little record player 😂❤️
Saúl rocks!!! almost as much as Guacamole itself! and this Guacamole is legit.
Mexican here, Chefs don´t give you this tip, we never slice our hands because we remove the pit and cut the avocado with regular table butter knives, want to cut it while in the shell, also butter knife or a spoon... never cut yourself, no issue at all ever!
Love chef Saul. He’s definitely not boring to watch.
I couldn’t decide which Epicurious episode to watch yesterday😅 I saw Saúl and said yes! 😍
Chef Saul, please start your own RUclips channel! You are fantastic and I love your recipes.
He does have a youtube channel. But he’s not posted any new video for over a year, he just makes shorts now
his humor is tremendous !!! 😁
Why you don’t have more hits is beyond me. Wonderful step by step instructions n mouth watering recipe. 🥰thank you!!❤️
I always put fresh garlic. Surprised to see that's not an ingredient. But I love garlic!
Chef Saul you are a gift to the world of culinary arts.
So happy to see Chef Saul again!
I lived in Mexico as a child - such beautiful, warm-hearted, kind people. All the food we loved there bring back wonderful memories
Is there anything better than Saul and Frank? Love these guys.
He needs his own tv show!
Where have you been hiding chef Saul. Spoon drop has me hooked. More videos please
My wonderful husband bought a molcajete for me for Christmas and I can't wait to try this! Thanks for the video!
Please make sure you season your molcajete😭😭
I did. The guacamole and salsa I made turned out great!

As soon as you got the lime out, I knew this is a recipe I'll love!
THAT'S NOT HOW MY GRANDMA MADE IT! but my grandma was japanese so what did she know anyway?
Is there a Japanese version of guacamole ?
I could watch saul every day! this guy is awesome!
Now I need a mocajelte because this looks amazing. SAUL FOR THE WIN! ❤
I absolutely love the technique of smashing the onions, cilantro and chili in the granite mortar before adding to avocado and tomatoes. I have ordered my own and can't wait to take my guacamole to the next level!
Guacamole is better with some little chunks. This here is almost a sauce, don't like it.
I love his knife safety in a 101 video! I love it!
I love Mexican cuisine. It's very healthy and tastes great, but just a few fine details carry the flavor of the dish to a perfect authentic one Saul gives those details in these videos. Thank you, Saul.
Just found you and I’m so happy I did. You’re great!
Chef Saúl is so funny😂. Love it !
Need more of this guy!!
This guy is excellent! What a great teacher🙌
Everyone on this channel are absolute LEGENDS!!!
I love the spoon drop! It’s the chef equivalent of a speaker’s mic drop!
Chef Saul and Chef Frank are my favorites!!!
Chef is a very funny guy! I've never seen anyone mash the vegies first; I love that technique. Thank you!!
I could watch him all day! ❤️ And now I want guacamole 🤪

Gracias, hermano. Feliz Año Nuevo. Soy Puertorriqueño pero me encanta la comida Mexicana. Your videos are easy to follow with enough ingredients for that wow factor. Saludos desde Brooklyn, Nueva York. Cuídese.
Epicurious as the absolute best lineup of chefs.
I’ve been making guac forever but came across Saul’s version today. I’ve never thought to mash the ingredients before adding the avocado. Gonna follow his method for the Super Bowl this weekend.
