Great recipe! It looks delicious and it was so cool that you made the original recipe! And thanks for the trip down Memory Lane with the "Fruit Ninja" reference!
Perfect msBalls well done! It looks exactly like the stuff I have in my fridge! A bottle here in Safrica costs about R80ish which translates to maybe around $6ish. My sister-in-law eats half a bottle at a time so your recipe would make just about enough for her hahaha
That's daylight robbery @@Passionforfoodrecipes although it probably has to travel overseas. I wonder whether it'd be that much cheaper for me to just mail you some next time. Do you have some to compare the taste? Should I send you some?
@@AspienPadda Yeah I have some I ordered a while back! The flavors were very close, mine was a little more tart and slightly lighter in color. But I see the stuff in the bottle includes some caramel color, cheaters 😆. I bet once we factored in shipping it would be a similar cost for you to send me some, but thanks I appreciate it! I should be set for a while anyway with all this I made for the video 😃
Glad you got to compare @@Passionforfoodrecipes and I agree that adding colouring is cheating! Cool cool but the offer stands. If ever you need something from here, I'd love to send it to you.
Greetings from... South Africa! And yes, Ms Balls chutney (we don't pronounce the "HS") is a national favourite. Simba even makes a Ms Balls chutney-flavoured chip / crisp for us. There are a variety of flavours now, but I particularly enjoy the peach chutney. Thanks for this recipe. As the cost of living bites I am having to make more and more basic food items now, including sauces like chutney. Thank goodness for channels such as this. Being on a tight budget doesn't have to mean going without - just make it yourself. All that vinegar & sugar probably means it will keep nicely for quite a while. This will also make a nice gift - use a decorative jar, a stick-on label and maybe a decorative lid with a pretty tag.
I'm feeling really *peachy* watching this because I just know this is going to be the best chutney recipe of all time...And what a shock IT IS!!!! Woohoo *Fruit Ninja The Way Of The Blade* this could be a great title for Passion for food's first full length Hollywood movie!!!! Oh and how glorious when this deliciousness is poured over that chicken!!! You've hit another home run with this Mrs Balls Original Chutney recipe Graham 😋👍!!!
lol, I need to get me a cleaver. This Chutney looks delicious and great on chicken and pork would be delish too. Hope you have a wonderful day. Thanks for sharing
Looks so good. I always thought you had to boil the jars before and after. I have never canned and thought the process looked so long I have never tried. I’ll have to try your method. This chutney looks delicious, I love apricots.
You definitely reenacted Fruit Ninja here 🍑🍑 I've never made my own chutney Graham, and this looks delicious, especially on that chicken breast! I will have to try this, for sure! Great video!! 😊👍
I'm from south Africa and we have Mrs Balls with everything including stews.
I'm feeling nostalgic when looking at the bottle of Mrs Ball's Chutney. Lived in South Africa for 26 years. Hi from Finland 🇫🇮
One of the things that I would add is that modern mrs.balls chutney uses a malt type vinegar and brown sugar or caramel syrup
Love, love, love Mrs Balls. It's a taste of home. Been toying with the idea of making my own...might just give it a try after watching this. Lekker!
I know what you mean! It's so expensive to buy online, give this recipe a try it's just what I was looking for.
Hello dear friend, This chutney recipe is absolutely the keeper , I Love it . . Excellent cooking presentation I really enjoyed/ Gosia

I'm sure all the canning people will be mad at me =D, but I've never had an issue doing it this way!

Good
So yummy 👍
I’ve never made chutney gonna try this
The recipe I am cooking right now as we speak is just apricots and sultanas... smells great
I am so excited to see how this turns out! How long is the shelf life?
@@chanelprotzman5790 properly sealed in jars it will keep for years
sooo good on chicken
How much sigar was that please?
We're going to add just a pinch of sugar 🤏🤌
Just a pinch! 😉🤣
Look delicious
May i use fresh fruit?
I'm sure it's possible but it would be somewhat a different procedure and recipe because of the radically different moisture levels
If you can open that with your fingers it is definitely not a good seal. It will pop on a hot day
Mrs Balls was not diabetic for sure!!!😂😂
It's a lot of sugar
Yeah its basically jam
