Today its time to fly out the F8F-1B Bearcat in a Realistic Battle. Flew out with the F8F-1B for the first time since release of 1.71, New Era. To check out its current performance, and found out exactly what this plane is about in RB, lets see how it went. Hope you enjoy :)

They have one of the f8fs next to an f6f at the naval aviation museum at NAS Pensacola. The only prop plane to be used by the blue angels. Absolutely beautiful plane. Absolutely recommend to visit the air station if you are ever in the US. Free of charge and have literally every plane from a WWI Jenny to the buffalo to an ME262 to an f18. Best museum ever
that museum sounds fantastic, if i ever win the lottery i'll be sure to make it a priority ;)
The Unites States Air Force museum in Ohio is incredible too. Need to make it to a naval aviation museum

Hey guys, Got the F8F-1B Beercan for you in today's Realist Review. A plane that has been much requested by you guys :) so i decided to fly it out this sunday, but didnt have time to edit it that day. Then 1.71 dropped while i had expected it on wednesday. So edited it on monday, uploaded last night and here you have it ;) Im working on the F4U-4 next, with the Hornet soon to follow! Hope you enjoy. And dont forget to like, comment and subscribe.
Hope fulfilled. Very enjoyable video. Are you sure the first game was not AB? Or did you kill your teammates before you slaughtered the enemy team as well? Just kidding. What a fantastic match!
If you have a save moment you can shut down your engine for some seconds ( throttle down and cut it off with I ) the engine behaves a little bit like you would have landed and doesnt climb up so fast to the red zone ;) Its much more effective than go to 90% or lower for cooling. But I dont think its nessesary to tell you ;) Great Vid best regards.

This is the only plane I actually enjoyed in French tech tree. Few bursts and enemy is dead, decent turn rate, flaps don't rip unlike other French planes I played. Still learning how to play it.

but seriously, when it isn't flown by potatoes (aka, it's not me flying it), the H is by far one of the most stupidly dangerous planes in the game.

Can't argue with those cannons. I probably will not fly most of the new airplanes until they get their first round of BR adjustments.
oh yeah, keep you're eye out for my f4u-4 review later today, which is definitely overtiered in my opinion.
My favorite thing about it is that you can mount gun pods on it and it does almost nothing to hamper on performance :P

I honestly like Jengar's reviews over aircraft than Phly's (his channel is ovverated and is usually where noobs flock to first) but im glad i gound this channel.👍
jengar! nice vid and masterful flying. quick question from someone who has played for years but still finds himself missing layup shots. do you use vertical targeting? what range and ammo do u use for the bearcat wing mounted cannons
no vertical targeting, 600m for wing mounted guns, 800m for nose/cemtrally mounted guns. getting used to certain settings is vital for building up muscle memory aim.
Great plane. Only when upgraded though. Massive stock syndrome and the absolutely necessary upgrade (new 20mm cannons) comes really late. With stock guns you cannot hit beyond 300 meters and a burst longer than one second will jam most of them... Very demanding. And of course hopeless against most jets when they are flown half decent.
I personally didnt feel its hopeless against jets, i feel way more hopeless in the p-51H against jets ;) because you only get hits with that, at least the bearcat usually destroys what you hit :)

TBH I find that the thing is better without the cannon upgrade. As far as the jamming...don't ride the trigger.
And in terms of fighting jets. Defensively, there's not a jet that it faces that it can't troll with a couple lazy rolls. Offensively, you do need a friend. 1 who gets attacked and baits the jet into a maneuver that wastes energy, and another to capitalize on that bad maneuver, but the thing is hardly "hopeless". Hell 90% of jets are more than willing to headon you. Bearcat can beat just about anything in a headon and evade without damage.

Riding the trigger is far from what i usually do... Two one second bursts have been enough to jam all four of my AN/M3's. As for the head on part, of course it will happen but when you encounter an F-84G with a good pilot in it, you have no chance to catch him.
@@andreasvulcan_gr2595 i have a fully upgraded crew level for piloting fighters at least, its a 67 i think, and i have weapon maintance fully upgraded, and did a test with stock cannons i can fire for 3 seconds max upgraded i can almost empty my ammo load
Jengar you really should use MEC. It makes temperatures much more manageable for any plane.

You need to make a proper "head on tutorial". I never know when to target above and to target below the incoming enemy..

The reason why the bearcat teammate didn’t kill your engine is cause he was rubbing the 50 cal version that has no stopping power
If you use manual engine controls and put the rads to 100% the overheating is not a problem
if i get a bit of time i might get into that.

Hr Puff just 100% is what I normally use, if you engine is dead put it to 0% and you will glide farther. Just a little FYI
@@godgunsliberty4342 if you leave it on automatic control will it automatically do it? And if not, is this how you do it?: switch to manual mode, change supercharger gear, switch back? Or do I leave everything on 50%?
I like how war thunder youtuber that focused on aviation have different specialities, jengar is extremely good at aiming seriously really good, magz is good at instinct/very raw playstyle, and green fury is really2 good at technical dogfight and maneuvers but not the best at aim.
its your opinion of course, i respect that, but i have stronger skills then aiming ;)

im not going to frustrate myself with that ;) but yeah, most my crews are maxed.
Ok, i understand :-) . But then perhaps it should be mentioned, that you use 100% maxed out crews ?? Otherwise newbees might think, the plane itself is working like shown, and forget that the maxed out crew has an enormous influence onto the abilities of any aircraft. Not to forget, that maxing out crews nowadays is a lot more difficult than it was in former times...
hmm, something to consider, i'll give it some though ;)
bearcat or beercan?
When you takeoff, what strategies do you use like flying at what degree or what direction you fly in to get in a good position?
The climb degree depends on every planes ideal climb speed
Some planes need to be at 260km/h IAS and some others need other speeds to get the ideal climb.
So you gotta change the angle for every plane (to it gets the ideal climb speed) and keep the speed during the climb. Since its IAS, you will need to decrease the angle by time.
The direction you take is decided usually by the climb rate the plane has.
If your plane climb well (ex: spitfire lf mk ix) you can get directly to the middle of the map since the climb rate will cover the short climb time.
If your plane sucks at climbing (ex: p47d25) you take a direction, 45 degrees more or less from the middle of the map.
If your planes climb rate is decent (ex: almost every bf109) 30 degrees of desviation is enough.
The best scenario is to finish climbing (5.5k or 6k if not all enemies are spotted previously) as close to the battle as possible, so dont get too far climbing.

The plane I can never get good with :(
I absolutely hated it stock. I thought everyone was crazy for loving it. but after I spaded it, everything clicked. With the engine injection upgrade, just climb at the start, dive to pick up speed, and gracefully high speed maneuver yourself from enemy to enemy, killing everything in 1 second of burst time from those glorious cannons. Seriously the best guns in the game imo. Start energy fighting when you get to ground level.
Also don't bother chasing jets unless they're already near you and below you enough to hit at least 550km/h on your attack dive.
Oh and if you don't kill something within 1-2 turns, just dive away to the next enemy. Basically, fly the plane like a leaf falling from a tree. Or at least that's how it works best for me.
Hope that helps! But hey, not every plane works for every person, so no worries if it never clicks for you.
I got it basically stock, I played around 10-15 games with it and I have about zero kills each game so its hard for me to spade it.

and i need to give you an honest advice
after watching all your videos i can say that you're absolutely an awesome player,watching all those gameplay videos.
but i need you to share your mindset before engaging someone and actually turn your gameplays into a tutorial
i truly enjoy your videos but clearly i cant get 7 kills in a match
so i want you to focus on tutorials while recording
and tutorials could be anything
* the mindset you have before engaging anyone
* the way you react could be totally different in every scenario
one last simple thing
i know you're a great player
but i want you to turn me into one.
I will consider that, and i might make a new series with live commentaries to highlight what i think during a match. i'll think about it. Watch my tutorial series though if you want my thoughts and tactics.

It's called euro's, or sometimes the partnesship program.

euro's are the monetary unit in the EU, and the partnership program is a thing that gaijin runs for channels focused on their game that have 1500 subs or above.
euros.eu = for golden eagles LOL
Mike Liu you have to have certain amount of subscribers or followers RUclips or Twitch for Gaijin to supply you with golden eagles.
