- This video provides a closer look to how I plan reversals. These reversals are effective against enemies that have more speed and compress heavily before the Fw190.

Learning a lot from you, I tend to go low to confuse my energy, fake pass, up and over but I get long range spammed and take damage or even burn up. I like how you force the wide climb that you can tuck into at any time while keeping their nose in lag.

A lot of guides assume your enemies just WEP non stop. Meanwhile my enemies immediately pull out of the dive when they notice that I’m pulling into it😭
YOu have to not make it too obvious that a reversal is your intent. Make it look like you are scared and run, let them catch up and slow down all of a sudden. Yes there are enemies that will cut throttle but they also need to have a plane that can slow down quicker.
Spitfires with their massive draggy radiators can slow down very easily as an example.
Usually you can reverse planes that are a lot faster than your own plane or just are bad at losing speed. You also need to not only avoid getting shot but also not make it too difficult for them, so they keep thinking they can take the shot.
If you evade waaay to hard, this motivates them to reset or slow down.
What I do to increase my chances of a successful reversal, is to dive and make sure the enemy can only get into gun range at or above his compression speed. This way I am safer from him actually hitting me because his controlls stiffen from compression, but also his elevator stiffens and when he notices and wants to pull out or reset, I pull a lot better with the Fw190 and get the kill shot.
You also, as a Fw190 can use take-off flaps under 700 km/h which work as both air breaks to force the overshoot/reversal but they also tighten your turn-radius so you actually get guns on target.
It is a mind game, you get better at it, the more often you do it.

@@the6tharmy also, a tactic i use to slow down is to go 0% power, use max rudder, pull up as fast as you can, and roll as fast as you can, this can have you pull 8-9gs while going in a relatively straight line to slow down. Is this a good tactic or a waste?

Pretty impressive not gonna lie. I’m good reversing with any plane except the 190s cuz of their mediocre high speed turn compared to other BnZs but that’s something I’m gonna try.
Fw190's turn better than most props at high-speeds, bring any enemy plane past 650km\h or even above 700km/h and the Fw190 will be able to outmaneuver them. This is a strength that is hard to be used, but experience can bridge that gap. I'm glad you liked the video! What’s crazy tho is that most people have no clue how to use the late game fws, which are insane at everything like Jesus. Low speed horizontal turn rate is bonkers thanks to op ass flaps. Your engine is insane at low alt if it’s the d9, and if you play it well you can outrun even p51Hs at low alt.
@@user-hh5pj5jv8p bro there are many us planes that can catch a d9 especially after a dive, p51 h should stomp the d9 at all altitudes cause it out does it in everything except roll. The stat card lies
Look at the f4u 4b at low alt, also out does the d9 in everything while only being 5,7 if I’m not mistaken (i have quit that shit video game and games in general)
When an enemy that significantly out turns you at all speeds , out runs out dives out guns AND rolls with you is on your 6 you’ll only kill him if he fucks up.(he also has airbrakes, the only thing the 190 has over the corsair is zoom climbing, but against 4 american 20 mms which are the best guns kn the game it s not much)
Chances are he’ll fuck up because 8/10 of air rb pilots have single digit iqs
Doras need the 109s to do the heavy lifting and set up kills for them, doesn’t make them bad just a more passive play style.

id say their main issue is that they commited too early. if it were me id go on top of your 190 and do a split s, get a few shots in and the get the heck out of there
So what I'm thinking from the spits pov he played kinda dum he opened his his pilot for easy shot he should let you gain momentum while cutting his engine at 45 degree downward angle and when close enough get fw into scissors ... use his energy against him presents a small chance but relatively easy shot

I use the Marketplace skin called: Spring Camo on the Me262, I don't know how much it costs now but I bought it for like 0.10 GJN a year ago. For the D-9 I use also the Marketplace skin, there is just one so it should be easy to find.

Hey just wondering, what gun convergence do you use? I've never been good at aiming so I was wondering if a different gun convergence would help... or does it even matter?
I use 600m for all Fw190's, I use no convergence on nose mounted guns like the 109 has. Wing armament works best with 600m.
@@the6tharmy ahh ok that makes more sense so would I also use 600 for planes like the P-51 and Spitfire?
@@QuackAttack For Spitfire I would use 600m but for P-51 as well unless you want to go for headons in which case 800m serves you better for long range snipes if your aim is good. But all in all 600m is good for both close and long range. Is starts being not so good at 1.2 km which is a distance you shouldn't start shooting anyway.
Woah, I've been trying to learn how to reversal but can't quite figure it out. I'm not sure I have it down yet. The planes I've wanted to use it for are the Vampire and Sea Meteor Mk3/ Meteor Mk8, any tips specific to them?

You cannot see throttle % because I used replay footage and it doesn't show it.
But to explain: in the moment where enemy is in range to shoot, you lower your throttle/Schub for a moment, to the difference in speed become greater and enemy cannot stay on your six for too long and overshoots you and ends up in front of you. Instead of him being on your six, you get on his six. You "reverse" the situation, that is why this maneuver is called Reversal.

The Fw190 doesn't have combat flaps in War Thunder.
You can only use take-off flaps or landing flaps.
Take-off flaps can be used up to 700 km/h speed and offer significant improvement to your turn and lift generation and snapiness when having to quickly pull for a shot or evasive maneuver. 9

Yes but to a less effective extent. Ta-C3 is best flown in squads so you can avoid dogfight alltogether.

actually, the mk24 out turns 190s at any speed, it also out rolls them, even at 900 IAS. you just met an average wt player. He either forgot to keep flying erratic and complete a loop to out turn you, or he had a G lock. Believe me, the mk24 pulls 13Gs at 780 ias, the 190 only 10. You don't out turn anyone when reversing, simply cut their loops using your superior roll rate to change your trajectory in less time than the attacker.
If my Fw190 A-8 is going 780 km/h and the mk24 is catching up quickly, that means he is well above 800km/h and compressing for sure, compressing meaning not able to pull full elevator which results in my A-8 outturning him. The guy is an experienced Air RB pilot. Check his Thunderskill. I appreciate your input, really I do but you are missed a lot of crucial details in your assessment.
@@the6tharmy I think you out turned him because you're going much slower, because a 190 turns much less at 800 than a Mk24 at the same speed, this said the 190 compresses more than the Mk24 It's like say, a 190 turns tighter than a corsair if the corsair is going at 700 and you're going at 500. You used your lower speed to maneuver more. It's relatively compressing, so you're right but at the same speeds the mk24 not only out turns the 190 it also out rates it
@@kingghidorah8106 I outturned the Mk.24 because he was compressing and I was not compressing. As simple as that. It was the best and safest way to bring the fight back to the Mk.24 with a good chance of finishing him off. I know my Fw's inside and out and have the most experience in them. I don't see why you keep trying to explain what happened and try to teach me anything when the video explained it all.
@@kingghidorah8106 I don't see anyone bringing Fw190 A-8 (5.0 br plane) into a game to meet a Mk.24 which was 6.7 br at the time of recording, in order to prove the concept of reversing.

The most Pain Numbing thing about this video is that the Spitfire Player is a 3 years old kid who doesn't know what lead is. also the Mk 24 is 7.0 and the Fw190 A-8 is only 5.0 , this raise the question of what's the point of this video? you won't encounter them in actual game anyways unless its a custom
Numbing? He was overly confident and committed to a very high speed attack.
Which compressed his plane. At the very same speed the mighty Mk.24 compresses more than the Fw190 and therefore doesn't turn as tight anymore. I also was quite a bit slower and therefore had a tighter turn-rate. He overshoots also because he kept WEP'ing and I already predicted where he will go for a high Yoyo to reset his attack and snapped his wing off.
This is a great example of an reversal against a totally superior plane but serves to show a very much overlooked strength of the Fw190's, which is their lesser compression at high speeds which enable very nice reversals even against extremely powerful post war planes if you know what to do.
Also I don't see ppl having replicated this and saturating RUclips with an example such as this.
It serves to show people what can be done and how it's done so they can try it and do it as well. And if maybe 10 people learn and do this, that is all I can ask for. And my video helped.
@@the6tharmy ok ? , he just need to keep high speed , and stop turning , the mark 24 is not designed to turn , it has a light weight air frame and an absurdly powerful engine that pushed the airframe to it's absolute limits , he just need to stop turning like a normal spitfire and start playing an energy game which it can and win. mark 24 has superior speed , lower stall speed and superior turn rate the point i'm trying to make is this mark 24 player doesn't even know how to play it in the first place , treat it as a Bf-109 not a spitfire lf mk 9. second of all , it's not even hard to counter a turn reversal if you have an energy advantage , what i just saw in the first few second of video is stupid , a competent player will just role to the side and yanked away from the 190 line of fire with all that excess energy from the dive. turn reversal is only effective at low speed , it's the sense of awareness of that mk 24 player that is lacking, he probably doesn't even know what holding the Free View button means
