This Bible is EXACTLY as old as me! ☺ Looking good! Always stack your Bibles (you might have to swear an oath on them)! I need to find me one of these.

I have a 1980 reprint of this 1971 Thomas Nelson Bible. There are 6 pages between the Pope's picture and the title pages, and these 6 pages are family record pages where the owner can fill in details about marriage, children, etc. I imagine that your Bible's missing pages had the same purpose.

Someone already said this, but I believe the missing pages are the family record.

Thanks for the good review! That Bible is as old as I am, and probably in better condition.
Catholics tend to be divided over the NAB. Some don't care for the translation, and others really dislike the historical-critical tone of the study notes. Personally, I like this original version of the NAB. I don't care as much for the revisions, though. (It's been updated three times. The latest is the NAB-Revised Edition, and the New Testament is set to be updated again in 2025.)
That's Pope Paul VI, by the way. The John Pauls came a few years later!

Thank you for posting this. I've never gotten to see much of the 1970 New Testament from the NAB. If possible, could you please give me an idea of how John 1:1-1:5 and John 11:21-11:27 are rendered?
