    Bible journey… told KJV, bought KJV..got frustrated. Bought NLT, loved it read through the whole Bible, which peaked my interests in the original languages and their words and true definitions. Wanted more. Researched closest translations. Bought NASB with Greek and Hebrew concordance’s.
    Blew my mind and loved it as well. Bought ESV study Bible, loved it and its commentary. Which in turn made me pick up KJV again, this time I wound up loving KJV..But still wanted more and researched bibles and read the history of KJV and reformers. Which led me to Geneva..The Bible should stir your interest in Gods word, our history from prophets to apostles to early church fathers to reformers.
    We should hunger for the true word and its profoundness.
    All these bibles are blessings, but my favorite has become Geneva with modern spelling and commentary.
    Stay hungry and God bless!

      I had a buddy who had several deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan and had seen so many horrible things and confided in me about how many lives he had likely taken. Terrible PTSD.
      The KJV Bible had him convinced he was condemned due to the KJV mistranslation of “You shall not murder” to “Thou shalt not kill”.
      Fortunately, I was able to help him understand the original Hebrew. He later got baptized. He’s still struggling with the PTSD though.

      @@HayK47Sorry to hear about your friend, however I think your critique is misplaced. You can easily prove this is not the case without going to the Hebrew. God orders to kill multiple times. Romans soldiers got saved multiple times (who obviously had blood on their hands), Moses was a murderer and knew God “face to face.”Obviously God is commanding not to kill in a certain context. The Hebrew word can be rendered either way. It’s not a mistranslation.
      Let’s say a man is standing accused of murdering his neighbor Bob. If the judge said, “You stand accused of killing your neighbor Bob.” You wouldn’t clamor and tell the judge he used a wrong word.

      Be careful with KJV because it has a Calvinist influence. For example it uses the unbiblical Calvinist term “Reprobate” in the second half of Romans chapter 1 leading a lot of people to believe this passage talks people who are willing to repent but are unable. This passage when taken into context by reading into chapter 2 shows us that the Romans 1 passage is talking about the sins of all mankind and anyone who hasn’t repented and been baptized yet. I have to counsel and calm down people all the time on Facebook who are trying but have been terrified by Calvinism and have been convinced they are lost. I spent 4 weeks in. Psych ward myself thinking I was lost but God showed me the truth and now I have peace and trust in Jesus. If I had a dollar for every time I see a post from a scared Christian asking a question using the term “reprobate,” I wouldn’t have to work ever again and I could spend all my time counseling. So this is one reason why I will no longer use the King James Version. Calvinism strips people of their assurance of salvation because they can no longer trust Jesus’s sacrifice for their salvation. Calvinism teaches people that Jesus only died for some. So a Calvinist can never be completely sure that Jesus died for them. So instead of looking at Jesus’s sacrifice for their justification they start obsessing over their fruits which are only evidence of justification not the cause of their salvation. They no longer have peace because they are constantly looking at their fruits to try and figure out if they are saved. Some out of fear take it even further when they start producing works to try and save themselves and once you start producing fruit for the purpose of salvation instead of gratitude of salvation, the fruits turn into filthy rags. The believer is now trying to save himself which is impossible. I see it all the time on the internet and this is how I know the doctrine of Calvinism is evil. Even if we read 1 John 2:2 in the KJV we see that, “And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” You can never have complete assurance of your salvation, as God and the Bible intended, unless you know that Jesus died for everyone and that you can trust his perfect life and blood. Otherwise you can only hope you will be saved. Hope is not assurance and causes some out of fear to turn to themselves for salvation. So I kindly ask that you use please use caution when preaching or teaching from the KJV in order to avoid others falling into unintended Calvinist thinking. If you are a Calvinist I would encourage you to repent of a doctrine that turns God into someone who creates evil and is an unjust god. A god that is not perfect in justice or love. Please revisit verses that Calvinism uses to defend their doctrine and reconcile them with the rest of the Bible that teaches us that God is perfect loving, just, and merciful and that God is righteous so there is no sin in Him. Therefore he cannot create anything evil. Evil must come from the free will of men not from God. Therefore God does not depraved children chosen beyond free will for evil and destruction.

      @rickbarnes7745 Месяц назад

      But what would you do if you were not an English speaker? What if you were German or French or Spanish or Chinese or Korean? The KJV would not be worth anything to you then. I'm not putting the KJV down, but no translation in any language is worthwhile if the reader cannot understand it. I grew up on the RSV, and then when I got saved, the NASB became the bible that helped me grow immensely. After Seminary I served a church that wanted me to preach from the NIV. I happily complied, because I knew I wasn't preaching a translation, but I studied and told them what the original languages said. And guess what? In going through the manuscripts I determined that no one translation was completely accurate, even the KJV. And here is the reason for that. Language is a very fluid medium. Over the years English words change their meaning. The word "prevent" for example has actually changed 180 degrees from the time of King James. It means just the opposite in the 21st century. Now you may be able to get the correct meaning of the word from the context, but why should you have to when a much newer translation gives the correct meaning.
      But this is why it is important to go to a church that has a gifted Bible teacher conversant in the original languages. But you are wrong in saying that the KJV is the Preserved Word, as if all other translations are sub par. The only preserved word is the body of Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic texts that are extant.

    • @jajs283
      @jajs283 Месяц назад

      KJV is for English speaking people. It is also translated in many languages. We personally have helped distribute Gods Word in over 20 different languages. We have pack and shipper sea containers and shipped them around the world. We are part of a large ministry that is heavily in to translations. We have a web press in Milford Ohio who sends scriptures to thousands of church across the country for Bible assembly to be completed and shipped back to Ohio and loaded into sea containers. The ministry has done 58 different languages and translation work is always moving forward. After exhaustive research by many many missionaries, pastor and scholars we have determined that The King James Version is the best text. As of last checking it is the only version that man does not hold a copyright to. Thus adding to the legitimacy of saying it is preserved. God made sure that the King James Version is free to all who would desire it. All the millions of scriptures that we have help put into circulation over the past 30 years have all been done for free. Gods people paying for the cost of paper, ink, machinery, trucks, trailers, sea containers. Shipping costs customs fees etcetera. All voluntary labor and monetary gifts to the ministry. Other translation have even had homosexual and lesbians on their writing staffs. Taking away and adding to the word of God which He Himself has forbidden. We believe in it so much we all have dedicated our lives to it. Praise be to God! Every human being has free will to believe what they wish to believe. Follow who they want to follow. One human life time to accept Christ Jesus. Some life spans are short some are long and some in between. But all have one life span. Straight is the way and narrow the gate and few be there that find it. With Gods help we will get as many portions of scripture into as many hands in as many languages as possible. Of course it will be the KJV.

    • @rickbarnes7745
      @rickbarnes7745 Месяц назад +1

      @@jajs283 Well, praise God that His Word is getting out to people who need Bibles. I commend you for the work you are doing. However, for you to say the KJV is the only "Preserved" English Bible translation is still wrong. What about all the people who were saved reading other translations? What about all the people who grew to Christian maturity through other versions that had better manuscript bases and were better translations? Are all those false conversions? Are all those false disciples? If you say that, then you are saying that I'm not a born againt Christian.
      How many revisions do you think the King James Version went through? Most people who think they are reading the King James Version are not even reading the original one that James commissioned. It has gone through several revisions even before the NKJV.
      Also, some places it just plain translates the text wrong. In Romans 6:2, The KJV is translated, "God forbid." But the Greek is "me genoito," literally "may it not be." For some reason the KJV translators put the name of God in the text where it never was in the original. So, you just said that other versions are guilty of adding to the word of God which He has forbidden. But the KJV has done that very blatantly. Why would they insert God's name in the text where He never put it? Maybe they thought they could make an improvement over what God actually said? And you can bet if they did it there they did it in other places also. I'll give you another example. 1 John 5:7, in the KJV reads "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." However, the UBS text, which is given an A rating, meaning that most scholars believe the UBS text is very accurate, has the reading, "And it is the Spirit bearing witness, because the Spirit is the truth." So why would the KJV translators add "The Father and The Word," to the text? Well, there are a few very late manuscripts that have this text, but most scholars go by the rule that the most accurate and reliable text choice is that which is earlier and shorter, because later copyists tend to amend the text by supplementing it to strengthen their arguement, rather than to take away from the text.
      So, I will end with this. Even with a few descrepancies, I do believe the KJV is a good translation, and for anyone who loves it and reads it and proclaims God's word using it, I have absolutely no problem with that. But it is not a perfect version. I say that as one who upholds the inerrancy and infallability of the Scriptures. Only the original manuscripts are inerrant. And for my money, there are better translations than the KJV.

    Recently I've discovered the Blue Bible App and its various translations. One of the versions of Bibles I'm trying out is the "Bible in Basic English" (BBE).
    While I've grown to understand the richness of the language used in the KJV, it's nice to get down to the basics of the Gospel message.
    Having a fresh, yet simple perspective has helped me obtain a greater grasp of God's message and has helped me understand and feel closer to God in the process.
    I still like to compare this BBE version of the Bible with the original King James Version, so I can make sure I'm receiving the same message as the one I grew up with studying.

    I pastor a Chinese congregation. Obviously translation is an important necessity. I think that even in English communication there is a need for clarification. As an example, Translation and interpretation are not the same thing! Translation is an honest effort to accurately convey the words of one language to another. Interpreting is an attempt to communicate one’s understanding of a given statement or sentence.
    I grew up on the KJV so am familiar with its style, word use and context. After reading the New Testament word for word in Greek I became aware that the KJV itself is a Victorian paraphrase; accurate in its conveyance of the original texts (except for a few Anglican Church leanings) but strictly True in its character. Today, I preach from the KJV, but in reading, paraphrase to provide a flowing narrative where needed, or a clear understanding of its teachings as the case may be. It would be futility to expect an audience struggling with English as a second language to additionally wrestle with Victorian “Thees and thous” I think the same sentiment is needed and helpful in any diverse setting that we encounter, even ‘street’ lingo.
    I hope this is useful!
    Blessings! 📖

Most modern Bibles now follow the Nestle-Aland text, which represents the best of modern scholarship in the field of textual criticism. It is the attempt of scholars to get a more accurate reading of what the original writers intended in their writings.
      If you compare between the KJV and a more modern Bible, you'll see that the KJV has entire verses added into it, such as I John 5:7, which was added into the Bible around the 16th century.

      Yes, the ESV study Bible has a slant towards Calvanism, but it doesn't much show in the text. It does show complimentarianism. That's only in a couple of spots. I corrected mine. It is my main study version because it leans in the Word-for-Word direction, applies Critical text, has wording that reflects KJV, and is a good scholarly work. For devotional reading I like to use the CSB. It has a fantastic reading to it! But it would not be my primary study choice. I compare ESV-NKJV-NIV for my text comparisons. 1:30 into the video and I have to comment. Mark makes a great point here about the influence of the reader's personality on the method of interpretation. I think his example of lawyers and accountants emphasizing a meticulous, detailed, legal (etc) interpretation. Likewise a creative person will find "meaning" and the "sprit" of the text.
    Furthermore, this phenomenon carries over in into the God a person worships. A detailed, legalistic person tends to worship a detailed, legalistic God. A creative, artistic person will likely worship a creative, gracious God and will find meaning in experiences. These personality differences are the reason we have so many different denominations and "flavors" of Christianity.
    It's fascinating.

      🪭THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD "the Salvation of the last day that Christ brought in the second and last incarnation of His new and holy name"
      (Because the Lord Jesus incarnate did the work of the Age of Grace, for 2,000 years, all of Christianity referred the one true God as the "trinity." Therefore, the religious identifies, the one true God as the trinity, separate Him, throughout time. The world of religion cherishes strictly to it and refuses to change at all times. Now, the Almighty God of the last days has come to do the work of judgment, revealing all the means that save humanity. He completely dispute the greatest error of Christianity---the trinity. If God didn't expose this lie directly, we would not discover the foolishness within the idea of the trinity. Almighty God says, "if any one of you says that the trinity really exists, then explain what exactly this one God in three persons is? What is the Holy Father? What is the Son? What is the Holy One? Spirit? Is Jehovah the Holy Father? Is Jesus the Son? So what about the Holy Spirit? 'There is only One God, only One person in this God, and only One Spirit of God, as it is written in the Bible that there is only One Holy Spirit and only One God.' In simple words, God is the Spirit, but He can be flesh and live with people, as well as above all things. His Spirit is all and everywhere. He can be in the flesh and above the universe at the same time. Don't you know Jesus was born through the conception of the Holy Spirit? Inside Him is the Holy Spirit; no matter what you say, He is still God in heaven, because He is the incarnation of God Spirit. This idea of a child is simply not true.)
      Almighty God said
      Because the LORD JESUS INCARNATE did the WORK of the AGE of GRACE, for 2,000 YEARS, ALL of CHRISTIANITY REFERRED to the ONE TRUE GOD as the "Trinity." Because the BIBLE MENTIONS the FATHER, the SON, and the HOLY SPIRIT, they PROMOTE that GOD must be a TRINITY. ☀️
      There was some debate, but most people stuck to the idea of the Trinity without any change. Some people say "Trinity," and others say "Three in One," which are essentially the same, and mean the same thing.
      Whether we say "Trinity" or "Three in One," it says that God is made up of three parts, They are not the one God. Only when they are together can they become one true God.
      It's just a ridiculous thing to say. Can you really say that Jehovah God is not the only true God? Or is the Lord Jesus not the only true God? Is NOT the HOLY SPIRIT the ONE TRUE GOD? 🙏
      Is NOT this CONCEPT of the TRINITY a REJECTION and DESTRUCTION of the ONE TRUE GOD? Isn't the one true God being carved up and blasphemed? We can see how crazy this idea of the Trinity is. THEREFORE, the RELIGIOUS WORLD IDENTIFIES the ONE TRUE GOD as the TRINITY, SEPARATE Him THROUGHOUT TIME.
      It is very painful for God. 😢
      It OPENED our EYES and we PRAISED CHRIST from our HEARTS as the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE, and PRAISED. WISDOM and MIGHTY in ALL GOD. 🙏
      If GOD DIDN'T EXPOSE this LIE DIRECTLY, we WOULD NOT DISCOVER the FOOLISHNESS WITHIN the IDEA of the TRINITY. ☀️
      Let's take a closer look at this by reading some of God's words.
      ALMIGHTY GOD says, "If ANY ONE of YOU SAYS that the TRINITY REALLY EXISTS, then EXPLAIN what EXACTLY this ONE GOD in THREE PERSONS is.. WHAT is the HOLY FATHER? What is the Son? What is the Holy One?" Spirit? ☀️
      Is JEHOVAH the HOLY FATHER? Is JESUS the SON?
      So WHAT ABOUT the HOLY SPIRIT?
      Isn't the WORK of JESUS the WORK of the HOLY SPIRIT?
      ISN'T JEHOVAH'S WORK DONE by a SPIRIT SIMILAR to JESUS's? How many Spirits can God have?
      According to your explanation, the three persons of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one; So, then, there are three Spirits, but the existence of three Spirits means that there are three Gods. That is, there is no one true God; how can this kind of God still have the natural essence of God? ☀️
      If you accept that there is only one God, then how can He have a son and be a father? Aren't these all just your notions? 'THERE is ONLY ONE GOD, ONLY ONE PERSON in this GOD, and ONLY ONE SPIRIT of GOD, as it is WRITTEN in the BIBLE that there is ONLY ONE HOLY SPIRIT and ONLY ONE GOD.' 🙏
      Regardless of when the Father and the Son you say existed, there is only one God after all, and the spirit of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit that you believe in is the spirit of the Holy Spirit.
      In SIMPLE WORDS, GOD is the SPIRIT, BUT He can be FLESH and LIVE with PEOPLE, as WELL as ABOVE ALL THINGS.
      His SPIRIT is ALL and EVERYWHERE. He CAN be in the FLESH and ABOVE the UNIVERSE at the SAME TIME. 🙏
      everyone says that God is the only true God, then there is only one God, who is not divided by anyone!
      He became three persons, each with a status and a Spirit; then how can He still be a Spirit and a God?
      Tell Me, was heaven and earth, and all things created by the Father, the Son, or the Holy Spirit?
      say that They created it all together. Then who redeemed mankind? Is it the Holy Spirit, the Son, or the Father?
      Some say that the Son redeemed mankind. So who is the Son essentially?
      Is He NOT the INCARNATION of GOD'S SPIRIT? The incarnation calls God in heaven by the name of the Father from the perspective of a created man. DON'T YOU KNOW JESUS was BORN THROUGH the CONCEPTION of the HOLY SPIRIT? ☀️
      INSIDE Him is the HOLY SPIRIT; no matter what you say, He is STILL GOD in HEAVEN, BECAUSE He is the INCARNATION of GOD'S SPIRIT. ☀️
      This IDEA of a CHILD is SIMPLY NOT TRUE. 😪
      It is a Spirit that does all the work; only God Himself, that is, the Spirit of God does His work. Who is the Spirit of God? ☀️
      Is NOT the HOLY SPIRIT? ISN'T the HOLY SPIRIT WORKING in JESUS? If the work is not performed by the Holy Spirit (that is, the Spirit of God), then can His work represent God Himself?" 🙏
      From "The WORD Appears in the Flesh"
      Fulfilled in " (John 1:1). (Ezekiel 2:9-10). (Rev. 19:13).

Possessing "the Mind of Christ" in actuality and as a continual goal is your only safeguard. Any other possible mindset will send you to Hell. The Father has put such a high value upon having 'the mind of Christ' that you are better off being moneyless, homeless and unable to find a true friend and yet in possession of a good Bible and a right mind that prioritizes the Kingdom of God: real righteousness, real peace and real joy. All else is wood, hay and stubble meant for the eternal fires of Hell. Enoch walked with God and he was no longer, because God Almighty took him. Let’s pray for one another, and let the Holy Spirit do the changing for it’s by his spirit that all things will be made perfect. Believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God he came to earth to live and to die for our sins that whoever believe in him would not perish, but have everlasting life. He arose again on the third day and he sits on the right hand of God interceding for us daily. I love you my brothers and sisters in Christ! VICTORS IN CHRIST ✝️

      Yeah, I was born and raised in a KJV only church system. I actually heard one pastor say from the pulpit "and people reading the NIV, (etc) and all that junk!"
      Years later I realized how that only works if you grow up or have only been exposed to that sort of teaching. Suppose someone who was never exposed to that teaching, say, came to know the Lord reading a NASB or something else, how did that happen, if all other versions other than a KJV are junk?
      Serious bible readers need to do their research because yes, some translations are more problematic than others. But when we suggest there's only one that is decent (and almost always that's the KJV), we're doing the body of Christ a disservice.

      Excellent points. The root of the problem is that human beings read and interpret based on their own personalities. By and large, we get what we are seeking from the word. Different personality types gravitate toward versions that "speak" to their individual, unique personality.
      This also explains the differences in Gods that Christian worship. We tend to worship a God that more or less represents our own (idealized) morals and values. We can see the evidence of this in the fact that rarely -if ever, does a believer worship a God with whom they disagree. However, it isn't uncommon for a believer to disagree with the God that another person believes in (or rather they disagree with the other person's interpretation or understanding of God.
      It's a fascinating phenomenon.

The undertaking of that project was so meticulous and scientific it established English as we know it, provided all the scientific rules of logic, and is the foundation of modern business and legal framework. It is the only translation that has ever been produced with its degree of authenticity. Worth the read, and will definitely impact your view on translations.

    As somebody who has studied the Greek of the New Testament over a period of 20+ years, I have some important observations to make about what he's saying.
    First of all, it is always best to take the time to learn New Testament Greek and to take that before any translation. The Jews are encouraged to study the Old Testament in Hebrew, and the Muslims are encouraged to study the Quran in Arabic. If you are serious about the Bible and what it really says, learning New Testament Greek is very important. There will never be a perfect translation.
    Second, when he asked the question about why there are so many translations, what he didn't mention is that it's about money. Every publishing house wants to have their own version so they can make money off of it. And some have good scholarship behind it, while others just look like they are copying from other translations and compiling. Really, it gets that bad between translation sometimes.
    Third, he completely misrepresent the differences between Bible manuscripts. If you were to get into the field of textual criticism, you will see that there are different traditions, or "families", of texts that come from different regions at different times. The differences can be entire passages. This thing about spelling errors and punctuation is often repeated by teachers like him who want to just simply wave away controversy and have you believe the things that they are saying. For example, our earliest manuscripts do not have the story in John 8 of the woman caught in adultery. Some manuscripts have that story in Luke. 1 John 5 :7-8 had a verse included that talked about the Trinity, although that verse does not appear in any manuscript before the 15th century. The ending of the book of Mark came later; our earliest manuscripts have it ending at verse 8 of the last chapter.
    And there are a lot of other changes that can go so far to challenge established doctrines.
    What I would say is to look into this yourself and don't listen to a pastor who either has very little knowledge on the subject or is purposefully deceiving you.

      The sky is blue, trees are made of wood, arachnids have eight legs, and there are thousands of different Greek manuscripts of the New Testament that are all different from each other and have some changes that have creeped into them over the centuries.
      If some spirit is telling you otherwise, you need to question if it is really the Holy Spirit you're listening to.

    I was a member of the Southern Baptist Church. I read the King James Version of the Bible. After joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 30 years old, I still read the King James Version. I’ve never heard anyone in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints referring to a different version of the Bible and say “oh that’s just a bad translation.” I have ten versions of the Bible. I compare verses among these translations. Some versions seem to discount the divine origin and mission of our Savior Jesus Christ. I have the English Standard Version and the New King James Version. I like both. The General Handbook of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints says “Church-published editions of the (KJV) Bible include footnotes, subject indexes, and other study aids. When possible, members should use a preferred or Church-published edition of the Bible in Church classes and meetings. This helps maintain clarity in the discussion and consistent understanding of doctrine. Other editions of the Bible may be useful for personal or academic study.”

(Rev. 19:13).
      📩 All who have "ears to listen" are led to what the Spirit of God is saying in His lowered and built kingdom/Church engraved with His new name, His totality, the ownership of this disposition, "THE CHURCH OF ALMIGHTY GOD "💐 fulfillment from what was said He to Peter 2,000 years ago recorded in (Matthew 16:18-19). His Coming is the fulfillment of all that was prophesied in the great book of Revelation, so the last "Salvation" He brought the whole truth, the way for eternal life. So the "victorious" ones who will receive them are the wise "virgins" because as recorded in the prophecy of His return no one knows it except the one who will receive it! So "come" and come to His kingdom/church standing in the holy place in the air/RUclips! This is also a fulfillment from the book of (Isaiah 2:2/9:6) which He first fulfilled in His first incarnation. 📥
      "They say with a loud voice, "Salvation comes from the Lamb, and from our God who sits on the Throne!" (Rev. 7:10). ... and (Isaiah 2: 2 / 9:6) "On the Last Day, the mountain on which Jehovah's temple stands will stand out above all the mountains. All nations will flock there. " .
(Rev.
" . I’ve completed the Bible for the first time. It took a couple years and I will only now read the NKJV because it didn’t sit right with me that some verses were missing. It said for translation reasons but still I need to have read it all. I also am going to read the apocrypha now because those were missing too. What are your thoughts on the apocrypha? In revelation I read 22:18 + 19 and it says not to add or take away anything. So I want to read it in its entirety. I’d really love your thoughts. I was saved 4 years ago and you are much more knowledgeable than I am.

There are a lot of blatantly false books that claim to be lost books of the Bible, but you can tell by reading them that they're baloney. Trying to keep it clean here. Please stay away from the Gnostic books. They're total garbage. There is an unadulterated Bible . It's the Ethiopian Bible. It's never been tampered with by any king or church ruler. I have a copy of it myself. Please look into these things for yourself and listen to what the Holy Spirit tells you. Have a safe and blessed day.

      Bel and the Dragon is interesting, not sure on the validity but it's basically a continuation of the book of Daniel. The book of Enoch though, extra Biblical text, is VERY interesting, Jude references it, and also Jesus, "2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." John 14:2; which is referencing(possibly/probably):
      Enoch 41 "2. And there I saw the mansions of the elect and the mansions of the holy, and mine eyes saw there all the sinners being driven from thence which deny the name of the Lord of Spirits, and being dragged off: and they could not abide because of the punishment which proceeds from the Lord of Spirits."
      This is the only time that mansions(from what I've heard, I do want to study this more) are spoken of and I think it's worth looking into; the people in Jesus time would have had access to the book of Enoch and most people in the religious community probably heard this along with all the other books of the OT. Jesus spoke of the mansions and said if it wasn't true, I would tell you. I find that very interesting. I don't consider the book of Enoch as inspired Word, but more like a history book that everyone in the Jewish community probably knew back then.
      It's also worth noting that fragments of the book of Enoch were found among the Dead Sea Scrolls:
      The Book of Watchers (1 Enoch 1-36): This section describes the fall of the Watchers, angels who fathered the Nephilim, and their punishment.
      The Book of Dreams (1 Enoch 83-90): This section contains Enoch's visions of the history and future of Israel.
      The Astronomical Book (1 Enoch 72-82): This section includes Enoch's revelations on the movement of heavenly bodies and the calendar.

    Not sure about this, but i heard a sermon from a well know Pastor of a Large Church in the USA and apparently when the Bible was first Translated, they did what is called, (I think) Line letter numbering. This means before the bible was translated, they assigned a numerical value to each letter and then added up the value each letter per line, so they new it was correctly copied.
    I mostly study and Read NKJV but as others have stated i also like to cross reference with other versions, NIV, ESV, etc. GOD bless you all, AMEN.

    Only the KJV has zero contradictions, and leaves every verse in it!! If you are questioning your Bible, look at Matthew 18:11, " for the son of Man came to seek and to save that which is lost". If your version doesn't have it, toss it, it is intentionally removing the entire purpose Jesus came to earth!! You'll also find there are 12 more verses taken out like Acts 8:27, and the ending to verse 1John 5:7 "these three are one", which in context to the rest of the verse tells of the trinity of God the Father, God the Son, and The Holy Spirit!! That is not in the original text and is contradicted by Luke 9:1-Then He called His twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over ALL devils, and to cure diseases. It is believed that it was inserted as an excuse for why someone couldn’t get a person set free, healed, or both. Beelzebub/the demon prince was attacking a person and I didn’t need to fast to get rid of him. Everything else is accurate though.

    1 Hearken, O ye people of my church, saith the voice of him who dwells on high, and whose eyes are upon all men; yea, verily I say: Hearken ye people from afar; and ye that are upon the islands of the sea, listen together.
    2 For verily the voice of the Lord is unto all men, and there is none to escape; and there is no eye that shall not see, neither ear that shall not hear, neither heart that shall not be penetrated.
    3 And the rebellious shall be pierced with much sorrow; for their iniquities shall be spoken upon the housetops, and their secret acts shall be revealed.
    4 And the voice of warning shall be unto all people, by the mouths of my disciples, whom I have chosen in these last days.
    5 And they shall go forth and none shall stay them, for I the Lord have commanded them.
    6 Behold, this is mine authority, and the authority of my servants, and my preface unto the book of my commandments, which I have given them to publish unto you, O inhabitants of the earth.
    7 Wherefore, fear and tremble, O ye people, for what I the Lord have decreed in them shall be fulfilled.
    8 And verily I say unto you, that they who go forth, bearing these tidings unto the inhabitants of the earth, to them is power given to seal both on earth and in heaven, the unbelieving and rebellious;
    9 Yea, verily, to seal them up unto the day when the wrath of God shall be poured out upon the wicked without measure-
    10 Unto the day when the Lord shall come to recompense unto every man according to his work, and measure to every man according to the measure which he has measured to his fellow man.
    11 Wherefore the voice of the Lord is unto the ends of the earth, that all that will hear may hear:
    12 Prepare ye, prepare ye for that which is to come, for the Lord is nigh;
    13 And the anger of the Lord is kindled, and his sword is bathed in heaven, and it shall fall upon the inhabitants of the earth.
    14 And the arm of the Lord shall be revealed; and the day cometh that they who will not hear the voice of the Lord, neither the voice of his servants, neither give heed to the words of the prophets and apostles, shall be cut off from among the people;
    15 For they have strayed from mine ordinances, and have broken mine everlasting covenant;
    16 They seek not the Lord to establish his righteousness, but every man walketh in his own way, and after the image of his own god, whose image is in the likeness of the world, and whose substance is that of an idol, which waxeth old and shall perish in Babylon, even Babylon the great, which shall fall.
    17 Wherefore, I the Lord, knowing the calamity which should come upon the inhabitants of the earth, called upon my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., and spake unto him from heaven, and gave him commandments;
    18 And also gave commandments to others, that they should proclaim these things unto the world; and all this that it might be fulfilled, which was written by the prophets-
    19 The weak things of the world shall come forth and break down the mighty and strong ones, that man should not counsel his fellow man, neither trust in the arm of flesh-
    20 But that every man might speak in the name of God the Lord, even the Savior of the world;
    21 That faith also might increase in the earth;
    22 That mine everlasting covenant might be established;
    23 That the fulness of my gospel might be proclaimed by the weak and the simple unto the ends of the world, and before kings and rulers.
    24 Behold, I am God and have spoken it; these commandments are of me, and were given unto my servants in their weakness, after the manner of their language, that they might come to understanding.
    25 And inasmuch as they erred it might be made known;
    26 And inasmuch as they sought wisdom they might be instructed;
    27 And inasmuch as they sinned they might be chastened, that they might repent;
    28 And inasmuch as they were humble they might be made strong, and blessed from on high, and receive knowledge from time to time.
    29 And after having received the record of the Nephites, yea, even my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., might have power to translate through the mercy of God, by the power of God, the Book of Mormon.
    30 And also those to whom these commandments were given, might have power to lay the foundation of this church, and to bring it forth out of obscurity and out of darkness, the only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth, with which I, the Lord, am well pleased, speaking unto the church collectively and not individually-
    31 For I the Lord cannot look upon sin with the least degree of allowance;
    32 Nevertheless, he that repents and does the commandments of the Lord shall be forgiven;
    33 And he that repents not, from him shall be taken even the light which he has received; for my Spirit shall not always strive with man, saith the Lord of Hosts.
    34 And again, verily I say unto you, O inhabitants of the earth: I the Lord am willing to make these things known unto all flesh;
    35 For I am no respecter of persons, and will that all men shall know that the day speedily cometh; the hour is not yet, but is nigh at hand, when peace shall be taken from the earth, and the devil shall have power over his own dominion.
    36 And also the Lord shall have power over his saints, and shall reign in their midst, and shall come down in judgment upon Idumea, or the world.
    37 Search these commandments, for they are true and faithful, and the prophecies and promises which are in them shall all be fulfilled.
    38 What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same.
    39 For behold, and lo, the Lord is God, and the Spirit beareth record, and the record is true, and the truth abideth forever and ever. Amen.

      @@trevrockrock16to casually learn Hebrew while you study is the point.
      It's an interesting exercise.
      If God saw fit to give His Firstborn into Hebrew, is there treasure there for us also?
      I think so.
      For example Jesus is the "Prince of Peace". In English this makes one sense. When you learn, Shalom means peace, perfect peace, completness, it gives the context a deeper meaning.
      Jesus is the Prince of Completness. Not only Peace.

      @@trevrockrock16 Good morning Trevor. "Adonai" is Hebrew for God. No, I'm not being "snobby" by sprinkling in some Hebrew words. It just feels right. So, whatever word(s) you prefer, just read with holiness and respect for our Lord our God. Wishing you and your family His eternal blessings.

    I read the Good News (Anglicised) because it is what I grew up with, and it uses metric measures that I understand.
    I will tend to the CSB for devotional use and am waiting to get the Anglicised version.
    For study, I use the ESV plus other versions as needed.
    I also use NIVUK, ICB, NLT, NASB, and others.
    KJV is both outdated in its scholarship and language.
    NASB, in its aim to be as literal as possible, is just too wooden for daily use.
    The problem is that the scriptures were written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek millennia ago in different cultures and situations. Any translation will miss something trying to get meaning in the receptor language.

      That isn't true. The Bible was not written in English and there were manuscripts found such as the Dead Sea Scrolls that brought further light. Also the words of English changed.
      The most accurate Bible are the original scrolls written in the original language. The KJV as an English translation isn't the best.
      Listen to Bible scholars and they will explain it.

    My favorite version is "The Scriptures". It's an literal translation, but sometimes it's a bit hard to just grab and read, because the names and places are spelt by the actual pronunciation. And the Greek words like lord and god are replaced by the actual Hebrew names, left in the Hebrew language.

    The version you need is God guiding you threw out your life, and you only get that if you have a very close relationship with Him. Like a Grandpa. Go to Him in secretly in prayer and everything will be revealed to you that needs to be revealed. Our Father is the only one who has ever loved you perfectly, you ask and consult with others, why wouldn’t you ask the one who actually knows. Only ask Him from now on, know matter what the issue is and, listen. A world that you never knew existed will be opened to you.
