For critical paths calculation, does the software only consider the task duration, should it also consider the resources availability?

based on the Critical Path Methodology, only task durations and dependencies are taken into account. Not sure if Project can account for resource availability and/or overallocation

Not all MS Project versions do this. Stupidly, the web-based versions do not have a critical path toggle.
