Thank you for this. I'm almost 70. My father died of melanoma when he was only 39 years old. Needless to say, I am a fanatic about sun protection and annual check ups. Our eldest daughter and grandchildren live in Australia. They take sun protection to an entirely different level. "No hat, no play" is a sign you'll see in schools and day care. Sunscreen in pumps is sometimes on the tables of outdoor restaurants near the salt and pepper. Our grandkids are under the age of 10, but they know putting on sunscreen goes with the toothbrushing and hair comb every morning. Sunscreen is in their backpacks and has to be reapplied at recess. We visit Oz every year and I stock up on a variety of sunscreens (I've used everyone you've mentioned) for my return to the US. My favorite face one is from Mecca (the Aussie Sephora).
As an Australian, I'm very happy with the range of sunscreens sold here. Majority of everything you buy is SPF 50+. I have used neutrogena for years as it keeps my face matte. Its a mattyfying sunscreen for your face. But over my body, i just use the local supermarket brand as it is a bit oilier.
I do have to say, I have MUCH darker skin than Tiff(?), live in Australia and use the Naked Sundays Mineral Sunscreen SPF50 and have been using it since it launched. It IS thick (probably wouldn’t be great for oily/combination skin) but it is NOT tinted. That’s just the colour of the sunscreen and while it does give you a white cast initially, it goes away after about 3-5 mins! And yes, I use a teaspoon of sunscreen on my face everyday! So if you are normal/dry, sensitive and are prone to pigmentation/melasma, it’s a REALLY lovely sunscreen. They also have a chemical sunscreen that’s lovely too!
I live by EVY Kids for my 65 years young, sensitive, dry, NYC face - year round. It’s from Sweden. Fragrance free. No breakouts, doesn’t irritate my super sensitive eyes. I even use it on my lips. It keeps me white as a ghost. It ain’t cheap, nor is shipping from Europe, but I will never give it up (strangely, the other versions don’t agree with me, though I know people that love the Face version. The less ingredients, the better for me). The manufacturer uses one distributor to the U.S. packaging and service is superb. It’s always fresh. I have found nothing else that comes close and I can’t tell you how many I have tried both in the States and abroad. I was skeptical about using a foam sunscreen but it works so well on so many levels. I do have to use an oil cleanser to remove it. I follow it up with Vanicream Cleanser and Vanicream Cream, which I use on my face and body. Very interested in brands you mention. Did you say which ones are best for dry, super sensitive skin?
@@Sky10811 too bad it didn't work for you. because i have very sensitive eyes, esp during winters in Chicago (I start tearing up just standing waiting for the bus). BOJ doesnt burn my eyes at all. la roche posay was my go-to before and it would always make me cry (aside from the constant pilling)
@Sky10811 bummer, it’s the only sunscreen that doesn’t bother my eyes, and I’ve tried over 30 in the last year. But there will always be variation as to what works for each of us.
So glad you mentioned Australia sunscreens, we have probably the Best Facilities in The World when it comes to making sunscreens, it’s big business here and years ago they would advertise it on our tv commercials with the slogan of “Slip, Slap, Slop” being Slip on sun protection clothes, Slap on a Hat 👒 and Slop on That Sunscreen, just about all our sunscreens are 50+++, you really can’t go wrong with any of the sunscreen products that are made in Australia 🇦🇺, I’m currently using a sunscreen that’s from a store here in Australia 🇦🇺 called Mecca and it’s their own brand of face and body sunscreen, plays well under my makeup, doesn’t sting my eyes and I’ve never been burnt from the Sun when wearing it and I spend a lot of time outdoors. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺❤️❤️ Great video Dr ❤️❤️
The Mecca sunscreen is the best and does not get enough love. Its not cheap but worth every cent. Its like an spf, moisturiser and primer rolled into one.
I just love Australian products. I have to try these. I recently discovered the best Vitamin C I’ve ever used from an Australian brand… Ausceuticals. My skin is so happy🙌
@@waterlily3161 That’s exactly how I use it, I can’t tell you how many tubes I’ve purchased of the sunscreen and now they have the big tube of the body sunscreen, I wish they’d make the face one in that size but it can be worn on the face also, it’s just a bit more glowy…🥰🥰🇦🇺
Wear your sunscreen. I have been applying every morning since 1986. No skin cancer, yet. I have fewer wrinkles than my friends. Oh, and all of those 37 years have been lived in Arizona and Texas. I was a one time a day applicant unless it was a day spent outside. Then, I was slavish about reapplying. My friends teased me about being pasty in the 80s and 90s, but I hated the idea of getting a sun burn.
I only started wearing it regularly in like 2014/2015 (I'll be 40 next year) and often get mistaken for someone at least 10 if not more yrs younger. Most of my friends also do too, but despite my best efforts, they REFUSE to wear sunscreen regularly. I've TRIED to tell them that if you can see the sun, the sun can see you. Also, skin cancer doesn't care if you're outside for 5 min a day or 5 hrs, so wear the damn sunscreen. And they STILL refuse. 🤷🏼♀️
The Eucerin Oil Control Face Sun Gel-Creme LSF is also fantastic, especially if you are acne/rosacea prone. You can’t feel it on your face at all. It’s my life saver since several years.
I'm living in Italy 🇮🇹, and I'm so happy you've recommended the Eucerin sunscreen that I'm using for years and love it! I use the not tinted version, and it performs perfectly on my combination skin.
I use the Eucerin Pigment Control Sun Fluid 50+ (hello from Europe) and I love it because it makes for a very nice matte primer. When I don't use it my make up ends up very shinny by the middle of the day, but when I use this SPF it remains perfect the whole day. This was an unexpected finding, since what I wanted was to fade my sun spots around my forehead and cheekbones, and it makes me want to use this sun protection daily. So for me it has 3 functions: sun protection / make up primer / fades sun spots remarkably well.
Thank you so much, fellow Europeam 🤗. I am currently using the bioderma aquafluid spf 50 but it makes my make up look really shiny. During the summer it’s ok because it doesn’t stand out that much. I am definitely going to check your recommendation.
yessss, same here! I love this Eucerin, without pigment (there is no white cast), it's like very good everyday-cream and great under make up. And thiamidol inside is another extra ingredient for antipigmentation
I don't like it. It doesn't apply smooth on my skin and makes little part after applying. I have to apply the Eucerin cream after very oily day cream to avoid that.
Usually I use LRP 400 mune, only in winter I use Korean sunscreens from time to time (I'm from Europe). But in the summer I definitely want the best UVA protection and that's something that Korean sunscreen lacks in comparison to LRP
I am from Australia and have tried so many sunscreens from here and Europe and would have to say I love Naked Sunday. I used it as a primer under makeup and it blends in beautifully. I also find it blurs my wrinkles well and gives a nice glow to my skin. I prefer physical sunscreens as chemical tend to irritate my skin. Love it!!
I love it, I live in Australia and have almost every sunscreen you mentioned, or at least something from every brand you highlighted, even all the Korean ones. Sunscreen is serious business here!
Why does the majority of sunscreens come in small quantities?? For the amount we have to use daily it runs out very fast and the cost adds up. Also the waste created by the tubes and packaging adds up..why ???
I’m from Australia and that cancer council is my favourite, especially in our warmer months. Trying the naked sundays mineral now to be on the safe side while trying to get pregnant, best mineral I’ve used so far :)
Please make sure you always cover your arms especially in cars/transport. My pen pal is from Tasmania and he recently had to have a melanoma cut from his arm and he is part aboriginal. It's really important and very real! Simple measures could potentially save your life x
Please keep talking about sunscreens! I’m an acupuncturist and a handful of my peers and patients are afraid to wear sunscreen because they think chemical sunscreen causes cancer, but mineral ones often don’t wear well. Another concern is knowing which sunscreen ingredients are reef safe. Those are where people balk when it comes to sunscreen and I’d love to have easy info to send their way.
You recommended the Beauty of Joseon in a video last spring. On your recommendation I purchased a 2 pack from Stylevana. They were easy to shop with since I'm in Canada. I've since repurchased another 2 pack. I'm using my La Roche Posay on my body to use it up. The Beauty of Joseon is fabulous and works extremely well under makeup. I have really dry skin. Given my age and having been using Tazorac for 15 years finding a good sunscreen has been challenging. Thank you for the recommendation. Your followers won't be disappointed. It is really lovely.
Thanks for your feedback. I live in Canada as well and I have a dry and sensitive skin and I have been struggling to find a convenient sunscreen. I will give beauty of Jose on a shot . Thx
@@naimaan7194 My skin is also extremely sensitive and finding a suitable sunscreen has been a challenge. The Beauty of Joseon doesn't even bother my eyes even after all day. The price is very reasonable also as was the shipping which can sometimes be expensive to Canada.
I loved the texture and how hydrating it was, but it breaks me out! I’ve found success with the Round Labs one and I’ve had success with the Laneige one in the past.
I'm sooo excited you mentioned Australia! I'm in Queensland and I use the Cancer Council everyday sunscreen religiously for my whole family. It comes in a giant bottle with an easy dispenser. I use it under my makeup too, which is usually no problem. However the warmer it becomes I have noticed more pilling so thats a bummer. Going to keep using it though
Great video! As an Aussie, I use Korean sunscreens for daily use (walking to the office, not spending too much time outdoors), but always choose an Australian water resistant sunscreen for hiking, running and beach activities (where I am getting sweaty). I tried to find a good water resistant Asian sunscreen but just can't risk it with our sun!
Yesterday was a very cloudy, rainy day here in Brisbane, Australia. We didn’t see the sun whole day. Guess what was the UV index at 10am in the morning? SIX! 😅 That’s Australia in a nutshell! I am really glad how affordable and good our Aussie sunscreens are. The affordability comes from the fact that sunscreen industry is subsidized due to the high uv index issue here in Down Under. After getting hooked by Aussie sunscreens, never gonna use anything else! 🇦🇺 Btw, Dr Idriss, you missed a good brand, sophisticated lightweight sunscreen under makeup. Mecca. They have some really good sunscreen options great for under makeup and humid weather. Ideal for Queensland summer - where I live.
I wear the Naked Sundays zinc sunscreen every day. It is thick, but very moisturising so ut spreads well; I have stupidly dry skin but have no issues - in fact it helps hide the dryness. Supposedly the tint disappears after application, and while I feel I can see some colour on my pale skin, it certainly doesn’t give the strength of colour you’d think when you first see it. Because of this slight tint it actually makes me look a bit healthier than I often feel. As I said though, I’m really pale, so while there’s no cast on me there may well be on darker skin tones. The most important factors for me are that it doesn’t feel heavy after application (and doesn’t attract dirt etc like old school sunscreens), and it doesn’t set off my sensitive skin at all. Despite being a bit spendy I’d keep repurchasing for those reasons alone, but luckily I’m happy with it overall.
I'm British and have bought from StyleVana 4 times and very happy . I love skin Aqua Gold Top as its wr and lightweight and skin 1004 . Tip is to order items in stock for faster times . ❤😊
Thank you! Finally some trustworthy source who spoke about the sunscreen I daily use - Bondi Sands SPF 50; I'm very glad that you did not slander about this ;) I rigorously use sunscreen daily and I'm tight-ish on a budget, so the Bondi Sands one is a no brainer, contains 75ml and I can get it for under 10€ I occasionally try some other sunscreens but if I can save me some money without using something that is bad for my skin, I'm all for it ;)
So happy to see that you covered Australia, I'm in New Zealand. I use the Bondi sands, ultra violette and Naked Sundays and an avid believer of wesring sunscreen whether it's rain or shine - never forgetting. I used to have acne growing up and a lot of other skin concerns so I'm verrrryyy picky about skincare products, even makeup that I use as 1 wrong thing and my skin still breakouts. Your channel has helped me out in my ongoing hunt of best things out there for my skin-type. Thank you 💙
How can we trust the SPF rating on international sunscreens. I used Dear Klairs sunscreen for over a year in college when I had frequent sun exposure from walking to class. The product said it was SPF 50+++ but it was later tested in the US and it turned out to only be approx. SPF 12. I feel like that made me lose trust in Korean sunscreens. Is there a way to know that they actually protect the skin?
The most protective and long lasting sunscreen I've ever used is the p20 Riemann. It can literally withstand anything. You won't be able to wash it off or rub it off unless you do thorough double cleansing. It's not budging even after 10 hours of sweating and not reapplying. It also has a UVA protection over 50. I've used it on special occasions where I had to be in the scorching summer sun for hours and couldn't reapply. No tan, no hyperpigmentation, no sunburn :) the downside is that it's very glowy and sticky, so not very pleasant to use on a daily basis.
I went back to Australia last July and cleaned out Sephora of the Ultra Violette Supreme Screen Hydrating Facial Sunscreen. It comes in a pump and seems to last for ages. I slather it on. I like that it doesn't sting even when I use it right around my eyes.
Thank you for giving our amazing Aussie sunscreens some airtime! There's no wonder our sunscreens are prioritised so highly, as Australia is unfortunately a world leader in our rates of melanoma. I have used three of the four you mentioned (haven't tried the Naked Sundays one). I'm currently using the Cancer Council face and body one shown and it's so easy to use, definitely amongst the least fussy sunscreens I've ever tried (as in no oily/tactile feeling leftover, easily spreads and sinks in, minimal scent, lightweight). When I tried the Queen Screen I hated it because it pilled every single time on me, but so did many other products I was using at the time including makeup, and after many months I figured out the culprit was my Pyungyang Yul Essence Toner making everything on top pill up. One day I'll have to give the Queen Screen another try. The Bondi Sands one is gorgeous and glowy but definitely on the oilier side, as a warning to oily-skinned people, and I found it was slightly more prone to slippage and irritating my eyes.
I’m in Australia….Naked Sundays and Ultravolette are the most beautiful mineral sunscreens I have every used, I can only use mineral on my face and I’ve tried a lot. For below the neck Bondi Sands Fragrance Free is my holy grail, I buy the 500 ml pump bottle. I’m a daily sunscreen wearer and have been for over 30 years when I first saw a dermatologist.
@@etherean369I can’t use chemical sunscreen on my face my skin reacts, my derm advised me to use mineral only. Bondi Sands do have some newer mineral sunscreens which I have yet to try.
I’m an American and I have paid out the a$$ to get that Ultraviolette Queen Screen because it’s so incredible. They don’t ship here or sell in the US at ALL, but you can pay a third party shipper to send it to you, it just costs a ton. (Basically, you pay a shipping service in Australia or another compatible country to receive the package and then forward it, so you’re paying twice for international shipping.) It’s so sad we don’t have anything comparable here, and I don’t know if I can keep justifying the cost, but it’s such a beautiful finish and it doesn’t even sting if you get it in your eyes. 😭
I can vouch for Naked Sundays 100% mineral sunscreen. It’s the only mineral sunscreen that I use and I’ve tried loads. It definitely does take time to blend, but once that’s done the tint takes on a blurring effect and the colour disappears, it no longer feels heavy and it becomes a fab primer under makeup - so much so that I’ve stopped using my Tatcha silk canvas primer. I use the Bondi Sands on my neck and chest to avoid tint on clothing. Can’t risk the sun in Oz! 😊
You have helped my skin so much! ❤❤ Please keep up the amazing work!!! The only thing that gets me through the week is your video on Saturday!! Any update when pillow talk will be available in 🇦🇺 ??? 🧡💛🧡
I use the Cancer Council one! It's a fraction of the price of the other Australian ones you showed, tube is massive, and it goes on so beautifully. Really reliable. And it comes in water resistant for beach days.
You convinced me to sign up for stylevana and I got the beauty of Jonson. I love that you showed us how to find the UV index also. Girl I got it sunscreen for like 3.29 what the heck was I waiting for. Thank You💜❤️💜
I have been using sun protection for about 7 years and have been using tretinoin for 3 years. The most important thing for me in sun protection is the UVA protection value. The values are very difficult to find out. LaRoche Posey liquid 50 has approx. 46. I know one protection, the p20 from Riemann has an even higher value. However, I get milia in masses from this one. The label ++++ doesn't say too much, 1/3-1/2 of the UVB value. It would be interesting to know which sunscreens have high UVA protection values. In any case, I no longer want to do without sun protection, it really makes a big difference. Thank you very much for your great content, Dr. Idriss.
And when it goes on sale you have to be quick as it sells so fast it regular price is $35.00 Australia for 50ml! My years off using sunscreen (45years) when this came out it was great not to have a runny nose and eyes that teared up all the time!! I’m hope most Aussies agree?
I am confused. Is shecsaying the UVA filters outside the US is superior to zinc oxide? No. I think thats incorrect. I get zinc is not elegant bit it is the best UVA filter. Am i incorrect?
I use the Eucerin one and im in South Africa. I use the matte version and it is brilliant. Ive used a few face sunscreens and this is the one that i have repurchased maybe 6 times a month and ive cottoned my mother on to the anti pigement one and she loves it too
I recently bought the BOJ sunscreen and I am obsessed!! I was looking for reviews last night for other Asian sunscreens, but couldn’t really find anything from anyone on RUclips who’s opinion by trust. And boom!! I see this uploaded two hours ago! Right on time thank you

I used to take 30+ to Europe for my relatives in the UK as all thet had was a greasy 15+ at the time. Now we have non greasy 50+ here and i think in Europe you can get that 50+ now. We get sunblock cheap, big pump packs for under $10. I heard that some governments dont tax the sunscreen lotion industry so its affordable. The contentious issue is the use of nano particles usually titanium oxide that can enter the bloodstream. Some sunblock here has aloe vera, green tea, vitamin E.
You don’t need to scroll down for uv index. Click on the hourly weather and you get a graph. On the upper right is a pull-down menu to find uv index, air quality, temperature, wind, humidity… each hour.
Hi from Australia 💖 an absolute ESSENTIAL to wear sunscreen when you visit....we have the highest sun cancer statistics in the World 😿 My beloved Dad passed away from squamous cell carcinoma that spread into his jaw it was beyond devastating 😪 Please take care and apply sunscreen and wear a hat 🙏🌻
Dr. Idriss, you are simply amazing! Thank you for your tremendously informative videos. It turns out that in the past 20 years, I did not know what I was doing. I am following your advice, and everything has changed. I can't thank you enough!!!!
Ha! So glad I bought my 5 tubes from Stylevanna last week before your influence video! Don’t wanna be dealing with sell outs because of you and your wisdom. 😘
Hi - from Australia. The Cancer Council Australia sunscreens are amazing. They apply so nicely over your makeup too. Just take a sponge and dab it over your makeup and it doesn't disrupt anything. Not super shiny or greasy, but you can powder over it if you want to look completely matte. On top of that - it's so cheap! The sunscreen Shereene shows here goes fo AUD$12 (at Chemist Warehouse) or AUD$15 at any other retailer, and you're gettning 150mL!!!! Most other Sunscreens are only 50mL or 75mL. You get so much for your money! Ultra Violette and Mecca sunscreens are great for under makeup too, they're just pricier. Recently switched from the Mecca to the Cancer Cancer Australia only because I get more for less and they give the same result. I really disliked the Naked Sundays sunscreen. Leaves a white cast (I am medium-deep skin tone) that does not go away no matter how much you rub it in. Plus, it is soooo thick and hard to spread. It ends up looking so greasy (normal skin type) and feels disgusting on the skin. Do not recommend unless you are white and have Sahara-dry skin.
Hey, if you like the first 3 Korean suncreams, then you will definitely love the P.CALM Water Barrier Suncream!! I love this stuff. It sinks in so quickly and leaves no white cast and is fragrance free. Your content is so informative and fun to watch. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Have a great day! 😊
I've tried both BOJ and Roundlab Sunscreen, and I personally prefer the latter. The BOJ felt very greasy on my combination skin, and you need to blend it throughly to avoid those random streaks. The roundlab one, on the other hand, is my go-to daily sunscreen for no makeup days as it is very lightweight, easy to blend and gives me a healthy glow and not greasy/oily "glow". For makeup days, the missha soft finish sun milk has a very natural satin finish which is perfect as a primer for my makeup
We also have brands such as nivea, nutrogena, Coles, woolworths, aldi, quick screen (from quick flick brand) amongst many more you can just pick up at the supermarket
Hello! I keep reading stuff about sunscreens being toxic ... I am wearing it everyday at the moment but it's hard to know who to believe with so much contradicting information everywhere. Any advice?
Thank you for this video!! I love sunscreen and know it’s a big factor why my skin looks as good as it does! I’ve gone through tubes and tubes of Beauty of Joseon. It disappears into the skin, no white cast and best of all, does not irritate the eyes. I like Stylevana, but their shipping can take some time. I’ve been purchasing on Olive Young, another Korean store, and their shipping is pretty fast. I believe purchases over $75 or so get free shipping, so I find it worth it to stock up every few months.
I've tried many of these especially the canmake mermaid one and wasn't great for my 46 year old face. Anything with that pearlescent glow doesn't sit well I don't think on more mature larger pore skin. So that's something to consider plus the size it won't last long. Plus I'm not sure I trust I either. However, I really DO rate the loreal revitalift clinical. Reasons why (and I've gone through MANY bottles) Doesn't break you out, sits amazingly under makeup, no Pilling or moving, skin definitely gets more even with time, doesn't emphasise anything on your skin, zero whitecast, I love the packaging, the scent it's something I just enjoy using first thing as it sort of peps me up for the day with my coffee. So it's a step that feels like I HAVE to include and WANT to include not a chore. I wouldn't be without this sunscreen. And if they ever discontinue it I don't know what I will do 😨 Another thing is the price, so I always stock up when I see it half price in the UK for £9.99 rather than £20
I was afraid of sunscreens because my skin gets easily dried and irritated which can quickly lead to eczema. Then I got a sample of that one from Purito, so I gave it a chance. Ended up buying full size package. Purito has many really good products for sensitive skin and they are cruelty free as well, I really recommend this brand 🙂
DR SHIREEN. YOU LOOK EVEN MORE RADIANT AND BEAUTIFUL TODAY. idk if you're makeup was done by a makeup artist but you need that blush. It's like it was made for yo7
So rare to see someone talk about Australian sunscreens. Living here, I will say that sun protection is taken seriously and even very cheap supermarket sunscreens (like the Cancer Council one) are well made, and do the job. I shop around for other options only because I want more environmentally friendly options that are lightweight.
I love your videos! But I am a little disappointed this time that you only included one option from the entire Europe! There are so many good sunscreens here, I feel you need to explore more in this topic. Waiting for a cont. from this video!
I’m cracking up at how Tiffany is at the ready for the sunscreen test! 😂 I appreciate that we can see how these mineral sunscreens perform on darker skin tones in real time. Thank you Tiff! ❤
I would recommend Brazilian sunscreens as well! The legislation here is very rigid. Every (EVERY!) sunscreen has at least 1/3 of UVA protection or more, the tests are very rigid. I'm a pharmacist, I understand these things well hahahaha. Try Ensolei sunscreens (Aché Labs) or Filtrum sunscreens (Libbs Labs)! Some international brands usually formulate internally in Brazil, to meet the necessity of our skin and climate, as well as the legislation requirements 😊. Ada Tina is a Italian brand but they may have the best sunscreens for both stability and cosmetics. Their pharmacist has a RUclips channel in Portuguese. He has written books, he is a professor, etc. They really know how to make good sunscreens!
My Nerd Professor, thank you for saying sunscreen burns your eyes, I have the same problem! So excited to order your recommendations! My pillow talk derm notebook is filling up!
@pillowtalkderm first of all, I love your videos!!! 11:07 if you’re talking about Japanese sunscreen, ALLIE from Kanebo is super good. It’s SPF 50+ and PA++++, environmentally friendly, and waterproof. I always use this and never burn. Also good as primer.
Found your channel and I literally watched all of your videos on Vitamin C, Retinol and sunscreens in one go. I have dry, slightly sensitive skin and surprisingly I find the Canmake sunscreen drying out my skin after a few hours of application, similar to what you describe the impact of Hyaluronic acid on skin. I personally don’t use any HA product in my routine. Anyhow I thought I’d share my experience with you, thanks for being very informative and helpful.
Purito Daily Go To Sunscreen is wonderful for rosacea & reactive skin, super hydrating, the only one that doesn't leave me with a red face! Can be a little shiny (not sticky) right after application, but settles down after a few minutes.
I'm a Canadian and I use for past 4 years ELTA MD physical sunscreen SPF 46/ Titanium Zincoxide but it's invisible, npt greasy, moisturizing, non- comedonic. It's excellent product. I used in Greece and Cuba where sun is crazy strong but I didn't get absolutely no redness or burn. I highly recommend all year around. This is great brand.
I really like that cancer council sunscreen but it immediately causes my eyes to sting when i put it around my eyes. I am currently using the water resistant version (white & blue tube) and that one doesn't cause my eyes to sting. I prefer the finish of the white & pink tube because it's more matte but the water resistant version is still good too
Those are all for the face. How about sunscreens for the body? I know that those products can also be used on the body but they are all in small bottes and will be empty in just a few weeks. Its so easy to find sunscreens for the face but hard to find ones in bigger bottles to cover my body. I dont only wanna protect my face but also my body since i also started using retinols and exfoliants on my body as well. Additionaly, most of the body sunscreens that i can find are sticky and i hate it. I live in a tropical country with very humid environment so I wanna find something that feels lighter on the skin. Sadly, im struggling to find one.
Omg thanks for talking about this. I use the Aneesa whitening gel 50++++ . I thought whitening meant bleaching 😩. I was told no it means brightening used in Asian skincare. I love them cause they have the TA. It helps with my dreaded melasma. I just came back from Asia and Anessa has come out with a skintint, and picked up the Korean roundlab skintint no TA in this line. for the days I don’t feel like wearing foundation. Yes I stocked up ❤.
These are Chemical sunscreens, so doesn't this have to be used before moisturizer? If so, will this still work if re-applied midday over makeup and moisturizer?

As an Australian, I'm very happy with the range of sunscreens sold here. Majority of everything you buy is SPF 50+. I have used neutrogena for years as it keeps my face matte. Its a mattyfying sunscreen for your face.
But over my body, i just use the local supermarket brand as it is a bit oilier.
I agree, Aussie here.
I agree also Aussie here 🙋🏻♀️
Me too - I find Natio 50+ moisturising lotion is so easy to use ❤
does bondi sands provide enough protection when uv index is like 6-7?
As an Australian I use sunscreen every day. Mix the brands around occasionally, but
never forget.
It’s now almost 2 years of me using Beauty of Joseon & I don’t think I will ever change from it. I’m so happy with it.
it s not eyes friendly. i like more Hada labo ones

Happy you added Australia. The cancer council range is amazing and affordable. Ultra violette is also lovely under makeup xx
I am obsessed with Ultra Violette...amazing sunscreen
Have you tried sun sense tinted one? Australian made and its lovely.

@@natashat6541I haven’t but I’ll have to put it on my list now. Ty for the recommendation 😊
Mecca sunscreen is 10/10
I just love Australian products. I have to try these. I recently discovered the best Vitamin C I’ve ever used from an Australian brand… Ausceuticals. My skin is so happy🙌
Yasss Mecca sunscreen is the bloody best !!!
In Australia our UV index in summer is 11 to 14, I never go outdoor without sunscreen even at home because we have a lots of windows.
So for me it has 3 functions: sun protection / make up primer / fades sun spots remarkably well.
oh, and I use the one without color (it is invisible, no white cast)
Thank you so much, fellow Europeam 🤗. I am currently using the bioderma aquafluid spf 50 but it makes my make up look really shiny. During the summer it’s ok because it doesn’t stand out that much. I am definitely going to check your recommendation.
yessss, same here! I love this Eucerin, without pigment (there is no white cast), it's like very good everyday-cream and great under make up. And thiamidol inside is another extra ingredient for antipigmentation
@@nataliapanas la rosay posay comes with denatured alcohol
I don't like it. It doesn't apply smooth on my skin and makes little part after applying. I have to apply the Eucerin cream after very oily day cream to avoid that.
As an Australian our sunscreen’s always protect and the formulas are getting so nice
UV index 13 tomorrow 😅
13 wow , thats a whole lot of sun ☀
Usually I use LRP 400 mune, only in winter I use Korean sunscreens from time to time (I'm from Europe). But in the summer I definitely want the best UVA protection and that's something that Korean sunscreen lacks in comparison to LRP
I’m so glad you referenced Lab Muffin, you are both two of my favourite people giving great advice, science based. 🇦🇺💐💕
You are absolutely Glowing Dr Idriss! You are the only derm who I trust online! Thank you for educating us! 🙏💕✨

Me too 🙏. Products that are great that we can get and/or have here
Please keep talking about sunscreens!
Eucerin 50 is the one I have been wearing. No white cast, great protection! ❤ Glad you included it.
I love this one too, it’s my favorite by far. I buy extras and give to my family and friends because it’s too good to not share
I love Australian Cancer Council Face Day Wear moisturiser SPF50+ UVA & UVB broad spectrum protection. Doesn't burn my eyes.
Love how you included Australia!
Btw, Dr Idriss, you missed a good brand, sophisticated lightweight sunscreen under makeup. Mecca. They have some really good sunscreen options great for under makeup and humid weather. Ideal for Queensland summer - where I live.
Wow! 🤯 Thanks for the tip!
I just started wearing Beauty of Joseon sunscreen. OMG is so lightweight and no oily shine. Perfect under my minimal makeup routine.
same! I love it so much!! last month I also tried some of their skin care products, and they are also amazing!
Where do you order from?
Probably Amazon
Thank you! Finally some trustworthy source who spoke about the sunscreen I daily use - Bondi Sands SPF 50; I'm very glad that you did not slander about this ;) I rigorously use sunscreen daily and I'm tight-ish on a budget, so the Bondi Sands one is a no brainer, contains 75ml and I can get it for under 10€
I occasionally try some other sunscreens but if I can save me some money without using something that is bad for my skin, I'm all for it ;)
So happy to see that you covered Australia, I'm in New Zealand.
As An Aussie, I agree. It lasts so long
Thank you for giving our amazing Aussie sunscreens some airtime!
I’m from South Africa and Eucerin is the gold standard for all skin tones.
The Bondi Sands sports one is pretty good too for the body
Could you share why you don't use Bondi Sands on the face?
@@etherean369I can’t use chemical sunscreen on my face my skin reacts, my derm advised me to use mineral only. Bondi Sands do have some newer mineral sunscreens which I have yet to try.
I’m an American and I have paid out the a$$ to get that Ultraviolette Queen Screen because it’s so incredible. They don’t ship here or sell in the US at ALL, but you can pay a third party shipper to send it to you, it just costs a ton. (Basically, you pay a shipping service in Australia or another compatible country to receive the package and then forward it, so you’re paying twice for international shipping.)
It’s so sad we don’t have anything comparable here, and I don’t know if I can keep justifying the cost, but it’s such a beautiful finish and it doesn’t even sting if you get it in your eyes. 😭
I’m in the UK and this is the sunscreen I use. I’m so chuffed that this is the one you’ve shown. It’s incredible
The pink Cancer Council one is my favourite!!! I have rosacea, acne and eczema, and it really sinks in and doesn’t irritate my skin at all.
I really love Korean sunscreens. My favorite at the moment is the Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum! 😍
You have helped my skin so much! ❤❤ Please keep up the amazing work!!! The only thing that gets me through the week is your video on Saturday!! Any update when pillow talk will be available in 🇦🇺 ??? 🧡💛🧡

What would be very helpful is if you could tell us where each stands on the matte vs shiny scale also the sticky vs non-sticky scale.
I use the Cancer Council one! It's a fraction of the price of the other Australian ones you showed, tube is massive, and it goes on so beautifully. Really reliable. And it comes in water resistant for beach days.
I was introduced to Beauty of Joseon SPF50 by you, and now use nothing else. Love it! Japan’s Biore and Sunplay also makes some really good ones.
wow this is one of the most informative videos I've watched regarding SPF. I've learnt so much from this thank you!
You convinced me to sign up for stylevana and I got the beauty of Jonson. I love that you showed us how to find the UV index also. Girl I got it sunscreen for like 3.29 what the heck was I waiting for. Thank You💜❤️💜
I’m from Australia and I like the Ultraviolette range, but I’m surprised that Mecca Cosmetica’s To Save Face SPF50+ Superscreen is not in this list

That's not an extensive list though and I know many of those brands I mentioned are sold else where ❤
Hello! I keep reading stuff about sunscreens being toxic ... I am wearing it everyday at the moment but it's hard to know who to believe with so much contradicting information everywhere. Any advice?
Please drop this makeup regimen lol your makeup looks increddddible! Also lovvvve the round lab sunscreen! Gorgeous .
Good to know! I have the same kind of skin and wasn’t sure which one of these I should try first
Thanks, suddenly my skin has turned drier and super sensitive. Will give a try

You nailed it. Brazilian here as well

I hate using American sunscreen Bec they always stings my eyes as well. I prefer Japanese and Korean as well plus I rather have UVA too !
I prefer the finish of the white & pink tube because it's more matte but the water resistant version is still good too
Mad About Skin has an incredible sunscreen!!!! Awesome feel and finish very high UVA protection!!!! 🤍🤍🤍 from UK going into stores soon ….
To be fair, it's not a very high uva protection for the european market standard.
Belgian here. I swear by Avène léger fluide 50 SPF and La Roche Posay Hydraphase 25SPF light/rich in winter/autumn/spring.
Omg yaaas thanks for the discount code! BOJ for life ❤
Those are all for the face.
Colorscience No-Show Mineral Sunscreen SPF is pretty good. Goes well under make up. I am based in the UK and can find this easily. It has no tint.
