Haven't seen Christina in forever! Glad to see her again
she cant see you though
I guess BA didn't want any asian dishes for a while.
@@TrevHolland they are a ravenous people after all.
I know❤️
@@illfaptothis333 who are ‘they’🤔
Yay! So glad to see Christina again. I knew she was still with the magazine but was worried I'd never see her on camera again. (They'd better be paying her for this, btw...but I think they finally know better than that now.)
went here just to see this, yep thats what we hope
I never comment but BA needs to know this is the first video I've watched in ages, and ONLY because I saw Christina and she deserves my support
I'm coming here with the exact. Same. Attitude! She'd better be getting paid for this video, though...
Me too!
Same!
Me too. Came here to say that.
Love Christina! So good to see you! 💗
Made this for dinner this evening and added some apple to it after it was done cooking. It was very nostalgic - 17 years ago we had a Japanese exchange student stay with us and they made us something very similar that we’ve never been able to replicate on our own - this is the closest we’ve come.
Thank you. 💕💕💕
Hi Andrea! How much apple, and was it grated or sliced? :)
I almost tripled the recipe, and added around 7 apples (green apple) chopped into chunks around half the size of the squash chunks. So maybe around 2 apples or a bit more for a single batch of the recipe? And I didn’t cook the apple - threw it in raw at the end it added a nice crunch!
Brilliant! Thank you. Looking forward to trying this recipe out with the apple addition
you’re adding mf apple to a curry. maybe take that out and you’ll be a step closer. white people be on one 🤣🤣
Did you use all of the S&B it suggests? 1/4 cup sounds like a lot.
More Christina please!! Also just a big fan of Japanese curry so this was nice to watch
Agree... More Christina please.... ❤️❤️
Woah Christina!! I checked the date just to make sure o.o
"6 minutes ago" XD
Ok had the EXACT same reaction.
The "additives are bad" thing is really disingenuous, especially the ones that were listed. MSG and disodium guanylate are both glutamates, and disodium inosinate is an inosinic acid, all of which contribute to umami flavours. Malic acid is similar to citric acid, which makes food slightly tangy. Most of these are naturally occurring too. The crystals in parmesan are MSG. Disodium guanylate is found in fish and mushrooms. Malic acid is found in fruit like apples and pears.
Just because you don't know what something is doesn't make it bad for you.
I did appreciate they don't actually say they're bad for you, just that they are present lol. And don't forget caramel color! Like none of us ever voluntarily drink a cola 😅
THANK YOU
I was just about to comment this.. there's nothing wrong with MSG and a famous cooking magazine that frequently makes Asian-inspired food should know better😅😅😅😅😅
Yeah the only ingredient that concerns me at all is the palm oil but not because it's bad for you
The funniest thing is that she then proceeds to use vegetable stock BUILLON CUBES. The ingredient list for those will usually list those very same things... Here's one for KNORR Vegetable buillion cubes:
Ingredients:
SALT, MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE, MODIFIED PALM OIL, CORN STARCH, ONION & GARLIC EXTRACT, HYDROGENATED PALM OIL, SUGAR, XANTHAN GUM, DRIED VEGETABLES (TOMATO, CABBAGE), WATER, SPICES, DISODIUM INOSINATE, DISODIUM GUANYLATE, DRIED PARSLEY, CARAMEL COLOUR, TBHQ. CONTAINS: SULPHITES.
Feel vaguely guilty about watching this since I've not watched BA since everything went down, but Christina Chaey is such a good presenter I couldn't resist. As long as she's getting paid for this.
She's a woman and a minority, you can guarantee she isn't being paid what she deserves for this.
lmao same, also it's japanese curry
Same

@@rockxaction because of said thing she is likely getting compensated even more than a white male .
Loooove Christina's vibe and knowledge! Hope to see her in more videos soon.
Good to see Christina back on BA. I always really appreciate her attitude and input, and the recipes she does are always awesome.
Had to do a double take, because i thought this was an old vid. Turns out it's new as heck! Go Christina!
Oh I missed Christina Chaey! Please pay her more for more videos
Have missed Christina!! So happy to see her back cooking deliciousness 😊.
So happy to see Christina again, more with her please!
Love that mushroom browning tip, had no idea salt would affect that!! More Christina videos!!
Applies to a lot of things. If you want to draw moisture add salt 🧂. Does it through osmosis
I've missed you, Christina!!!
I love Christina: she needs to be highlighted more! This looks amazing and perfect for winter.
Super happy to see Christina back! Haven't watched BA in a while for the obvious reasons, I think additional transparency would really help bring people back to this channel. The few videos I have watched since everything became public have seem off. I wish the best for everyone who is at BA and hope it has truly changed for the better, would love to see the energy and enthusiasm we used to.
Nonetheless... very very happy to see Christina again
What a treat to see Christina again.
This looks so good. I love a good Japanese curry. And I love mushrooms in my curry even more.
i was low key waiting for Christina to stick her hand in the rice cooker to measure the water

SO HAPPY TO SEE HER!!!
LOL My friends and I recently combined Japanese curry with the idea of Poutine: Cheese curds, French Fries topped with the Curry Sauce. The Japanese curry is very gravy-like, tastes amazing mmmm :P
Omg yum!!
Big brain
Yeah that’s a curry chip with cheese
I've been dreaming of making this for years! I'm sure it'll be heaven
I love Christina - only reason I would watch a BA video again.
Yay, Christina is back!!!

I love Japanese Curry, this recipe is super simple and easy to follow. Can't wait to give it a try!
In a hippy household, where it was either brown rice + a stir fry with tofu and veggies, or something else, I grew up on Golden Curry too. It's so comforting to me, all those flavors.
I love Christina! So glad to see her again. Thanks for making the video Christina :D :D
Love Christina`s cooking
Love all Chaey content
Really enjoyed this episode. Making this tonight!
This is a great recipe and video. Thank you Christina!

Thank you Christina!♥
The editing around all the chopping was really satisfying and well paced. The editor doesn't dwell on anything too long, you show what's necessary, and move on
