I tried to talk to my Dad about them falsely predicting the end and he of course insisted that it’s all apostate fed lies. When I tried to show him the old articles, he said they were doctored by apostates. Some people…, it’s just a waste of time and so infuriating. But, also, I love your channel, Wally. Keep up the good work!
Apostates use the past history to try to discredit them but every religion and organization and a beginning that was part of gods plan to manifest it into the earth. That was a learning period where everything was new and everyone was trying to develop more of an understanding of the scriptures Jehovah still used Russell for a purpose and that took guts and courage to go against so many in order to reveal his name and make sure that it is known because it was taken out and replaced with GOD or LORD

I think this is one of your more important videos. I'm a big proponent of asking questions to believers. Get people thinking towards the correct answer rather than telling them they're wrong. It makes a bigger impact. Even if you don't change their mind, at least you got them thinking.

Your first 20 seconds described my life so perfectly. I have reached out many times to my elders, as well as my inactive mother, but to no avail. They keep promising to come by to visit her, to encourage her, but never follow through. Yet in their publications and daily text they say to help inactive ones.

Hi! I just came across your videos today and I am thankful for your quirky, sensitive and thoughtful self. You talked about legacy in another video and if you with love bring the desire to critically think to all of us, and esp those within the JW org, you will have left behind a most precious gift.
I hope that some of the questions that you posed to your family are current conversations even if there is no way that they will leave. I remember your depression at being shunned when you woke up to leave. So if your family has come out of the fog a bit to have communications with you, that is a good thing. Btw, thanks for the bougie water recipe in the end, even though I think you might have a little buzz in it at time. Nothing wrong with that of course. 😉
Coming late to the party, but I am really liking this video. One thing to consider... in list-of-ten style vids like this one, is it possible to break it into sections so people can click around on the timeline? Also, I love the beard/stache, but have to wonder a *little* bit about the contrasting pattern on shirt vs hat. Bold, sir, bold.
I think narrowing it down to just ten must've been the hardest part of making this video.

I liked this friendly, more conversational format that the list approaches the topic from. JWs like to make questions to other people, so bringing that questioning method back is pretty interesting. That's the start of doubting.

What helped me was looking at Jeffry Jason lying and for that reason I appreciate the work of all of you guys do spreading the information through videos like this. Also knowing about how they use the money and how they get it. Also the eternal rent that they charge to members for the kingdom halls. Also visiting the sick at the hospitals and convalescent hospitals.

When I was a Mormon the people who would actually spend the time with us and actually read the materials and try to have an honest intellectual engagement were the ones that had the biggest impact on me when they came to the logical conclusion that mormonism wasn’t true. So I want to pay it forward. Some JW’s knocked on my door and now we have had three Bible studies, and basically there are some things i relate with them (e.g. most of the values expressed in the sermon on the mount) and some things i tell them i believe differently (e.g.creationism), but they just keep going through the lessons no matter how I answer. So i think this is an opportunity to maybe plant some seeds in their minds. I am not faking anything in the lessons, they know I’m an ex Mormon that doesn’t believe in god. But i enjoy talking to them. Any advice about how to honestly engage in Bible study but plant the right seeds? These are great questions for someone to ask that comes from the inside and understands the organization and belief system, but any advice on things to ask as an outsider? Things that will help them think?

It absolutely is an abusive relationship. Think about it. IF I were to tell my wife what she can wear. How she can wear her hair. How much education she can have. What she can listen to. What she can watch. What type of people she can socialize with, including family. It would tick all the boxes of an abusive relationship.
Her family, my family, and friends would tell me that I am an abusive monster and that my wife needs to get out.
Yet, that is exactly what the Watchtower does with it's members.
This is a great video! You might not convert them in the moment, but at-least you are making them think and that on itself is an achievement.
As much as these are all great questions, the only people who are allowed to ask JW's questions like this are bible students and if they ask these specific questions then they aren't "honesthearted."

regarding number 8 - this has happened as well. Concerned parents have contacted the GB several times about the violent scenes in videos. What was the response of the GB? Twice it was talked about in the monthly broadcasting. Complete ignorance about the concerns of parents.And they demonstrated their power by insisting on continuing to show these scenes and urging parents to continue showing them to their children!

as someone never in the org and on autistic spectrum I do appreciate the way you make your content. The humorous parts give me some moments of rest as I process some of tougher thoughs in the videos.
Your questions did remind me of one question I asked one of the JW's and still didn't figure out what upset them. It was about the topic of divination and they quoted some part about consulting with something called urim and thummim. I asked "Why your god forbids divination when you just said the priest had two stuffs for it?" And I was scolded for it.
I think it can be an interesting idea for a video on org's take on pagans/polytheists and if they use different methods to "convince" them than to christians and atheists. (never seen this topic touched or I am bad at searching).

As a PIMO who is trying to resist the pressure to go back to meetings, I've been having some discussions with my PIMI husband lately. I asked him the first two questions. 1. He said it didn't matter to him and others if it was true or not, and that it matters too much to me. He was trying to play that off as humility, because none of us puny humans really know right? So how could you KNOW it's not true you arrogant almost apostate? 2. He said if the GB asked him to do something wildly unethical like kill people, or if he found out they were trying to control people?! It's been mind blowing. He is a slacker double life witness and always has been. In terms of his belief and (bad) arguments he's almost like a POMI. Mr. Logic and facts telling me that he does it because his friends and family do, it's convenient, and even if he's wrong it's the "best life ever!" When the bunker videos and Give Me Courage came out I remember everyone crying at the convention including me. He didn't. He told me later he didn't need all that feel good warm fuzzy stuff to believe, that his belief was all based on truth. What a difference a few years makes 🤯

My older sister is like your brother. She seems to have her circle of friends in the borg and that's enough. She is the same person who, just before she was baptized, subjected her three little sisters and little brother to a whole day into the 10 p.m. o'clock hour of court and tortures of strapping with leather horse harness piece by our zealot jw mother as judge because she opened a can of sardines and left them in the cupboard to stink likely by mistake. She was trying to convince us to admit to it because she didn't want to get held back from getting baptized. We were strapped every hour on the hour until she got my little sister to admit to the crime. My sister is happy. That's what matters. That is what the cult did to my family.
Woah sorry but she sounds like an actual psychopath. Then again, kids do stuff like that so maybe it was just a mistake she made and hasn't done anything like that since.

They will do ANYTHING the Governing Body tells them to do. It’s even in the Watchtower telling them obey the governing body even if what they say doesn’t make sense from a logical human viewpoint

I was visiting my aunt recently who has always been a JW at her connivence type, but now that she is knocking on 70 she’s all devout now. I was inquiring about all the New JW movies and how they portray Fully equipped Police Officers and Soldiers carrying weapons and making tactical advances and also room clearing. She proudly proclaimed “ Yea they’re all brother”!! I said so JW actors are now getting tactical training for these as she put “ Hollywood Style Movies” she said Oh yea they take training and do their research! I just stopped right there as I could see she like many of them are hopelessly brainwashed and hypocrites to the 12th degree.
