I cannot believe you made a video about this subject! This was the very thing that I first questioned the elders in my Hall about. First of all, the reason the Memorial partakers has been going up every year is because many people have had their eyes opened that Jesus told his followers to “keep doing this in remembrance of me.” That was to partake, not just sit and observe. So, many Witnesses have begun to partake, that didn’t used to previously. I approached one elder in my Hall in 1981, and told him “the Governing Body members are all getting old now. You have to be of the Anointed to be on the GB. If they find a way to start letting people of the Great Crowd on the GB, that will be my cue to get out of this religion. That would mean that Armageddon might not come for another 100 years.” I had no idea that they were going to let people younger and younger claim to be Anointed, and be on the GB. They used to teach that 1935 was the cut off year. In a 1987 Watchtower, they came out with the story of the Nethinim. These were people who were not Levites, but were allowed into the Most Holy of the Temple at certain times to perform ministerial duties. In the same way, they were going to start to allow other brothers who are not anointed perform some of the responsibilities of the GB. I looked right at that elder and said after the meeting “this is EXACTLY what I was telling you 6 years ago!” Because I was newly married at that time, I felt bad leaving the Organization, with my wife still being an active member, so I hung around for an additional 5 years. I was a fully, completely awake PIMO those 5 years, even though I got appointed a Ministerial Servant in that time. Finally, in 1992, I had enough. But that was the subject that began to open my eyes.

Very thorough and thoughtful analysis. When in 1995 they changed the generation doctrine I was like Ok but when they kept changing it and adjusting it to the need to keep it's members in check I started to question everything about them and it's been so for a 6 month period. The problem is that i was so obedient, strongly believing everything in there, living in constant fear and in the meantime i wasted my entire life. Failed marriage, love I had rejected because she was not a witness these things had taken its severe toll on my mental health. It's disgusting and I don't know if life is really worth living in my early 40 or should I end it hopelessly hoping for better life.

Great video! The reason none of the witnesses you shared that info with were interested is because 95% of witnesses don’t care if the teachings and doctrines are correct. It’s their life - community, friends, family etc. they don’t think about these things because their subconscious won’t allow them to. And even if you show them proof, they make excuses and say but it’s still gods organization because they don’t have any other choice. So sad.

Hello Sir, as a former JW, I need to know more about the euphemism of having a microphone propped on a pillow. What scripture is that? Also, this topic was funny because during every Memorial, as a child, I always turned around to look to see if anyone in our congregation ate the crackers or grape juice. I don't believe it was wine at my congregation....none of them were cool enough to know anything about a merlot or a nice red blend. Also, when the organization went from telling us that we only had a few days or minutes left in the 80s and 90s because the people old enough to have been aware of what took place in 1914 were dying off (or they were going on strike), I started giving folks the side-eye right then and there. After being scared every single day throughout the 80s and 90s, here we are in 2021 barely still here due to the pandemic. I'm not saying they were wrong; I'm just saying I have questions, concerns, and would appreciate a burning bush to help sort this out.

the only problem for Jehovah's Witnesses is not to take as an example what Jesus instituted in their memory, which was to eat and drink the emblems in the Lord's Supper! for it is one baptism and one hope of eternal life. The 144,000 have not appeared yet. They are a future group of people from all over the world that God will seal immediately prior to the commencement of the tribulation. That means you can scratch everything the WT has said on this subject.

I disagree that flip flopping disproves the new light teaching. Because you can believe something that's true for the wrong reason . In order for it to be disproved you would have to have the entire argument, that is to say, all of the connected lines of evidence would have to be identical in the former and latter case. An analagous scenario could easily be imagined where the conlusion flipflops but the premisies are different. This is especially the case for dichomatic conclusions since there are only two possible answers.

I like things simple so let me give it to you this way, Premise 1: The generation of Matthew refers to people that witnessed the events of 1914 and recognized the sign of christ presence. Premise 2: This generation will not pass away before the great Tribulation breaks out. Conclusion: The end of the system will come before this generation passes away. (I think that is a just way to put their position) Then in 1995 they say; Premise 1: The generation of Matthew refers to the wicked people in Satan's system. Premise 2: There has always been wicked people on earth that do not recognize the sign of Christ. Conclusion: The wicked generation will be on the earth when the Great Tribulation breaks out. Then in 2008 or 7 idk it really doesn't matter they say that; Premise 1: The generation of Matthew refers to people that witnessed the events of 1914 and recognized the sign of christ presence and people that were contemporaries of them. Premise 2: This generation will not pass away before the great Tribulation breaks out. Conclusion: The end of the system will come before this overlapping generation passes away. The conclusion and the premises flip flop. This is not to even get into the fact that we would need to accept the premises in the first place. But let me make it even simpler. Can progressive revelation be progressive and regressive at the same time? Can something be a bird and an xbox at the same time? Can you be sitting in a chair and not sitting in a chair at the same time? Yes I understand that certain propisitions are either true or false. The reason this flip flop disproves the new light doctrine is that new light cannot be old light. It is called Progressive Revelation for a reason and before they came up with the overlapping thing, they said for 2 years that the generation did in fact mean faithful annointed ones. @@exjehovahswitness Thank you for the long reply. I have a bigger issue with the supporting premis that justifies the flipflop. The idea that professy can only be understood after it has happened. There is no precident for this kind of liscence in biblical interperetation in the bible itself. When there is something vague that is interperated, this is done before the actual events transpire such as daniel and joseph interperetation of profetic dreams. For the GB to say that they are guided by holy spirit but not subject to the same chronological standard as daniel or Joseph makes them not credible because it is not biblically consistant and removes disprovability. And everytime they have made a disprovable prediction, it turns out to be disproved. But I might be wrong about that, I havent beleived this stuff for almost a decade so not super studied up on it.

I've looked at camcorders on Amazon and the ones in my price range are just terrible. Lloyd also has a very good filming setup and I'm inspired by him as well. For what ever reason my grandmother saved many JW'S magazines. Years worth. When she died my mother threw them all away . I wish I could have seen them . I am a convert to Catholicism. My family for many generations have not been Catholic. Nobody that I am aware of have been a JW'S. I keep wondering why did my Grandmother have years worth of material ? Right - but according JWs consider who his audience is: anointed disciples going to heaven. According to Catholics, everyone that believes and has faith in Jesus is going to heaven, so everyone should partake of they believe. As for JWs, since they only believe in a strict number going to heaven, they only allow those that go to heaven to partake. Everyone else observes.

Human beings are never totally correct about most things . We can't get straight the finite . GOD is in all places at all times with all people . As humans we can't rap our heads around that . My own twisted cult-addled brain has an easy ready-made explanation for the rise in the number of partakers. It's because Jehovah has dis-anointed all the partakers from the 1990s because the Org joined the UN. As a result, there have had to be replacements chosen. I cannot believe you made a video about this subject! This was the very thing that I first questioned the elders in my Hall about. First of all, the reason the Memorial partakers has been going up every year is because many people have had their eyes opened that Jesus told his followers to “keep doing this in remembrance of me.” That was to partake, not just sit and observe. So, many Witnesses have begun to partake, that didn’t used to previously.
I approached one elder in my Hall in 1981, and told him “the Governing Body members are all getting old now. You have to be of the Anointed to be on the GB. If they find a way to start letting people of the Great Crowd on the GB, that will be my cue to get out of this religion. That would mean that Armageddon might not come for another 100 years.” I had no idea that they were going to let people younger and younger claim to be Anointed, and be on the GB. They used to teach that 1935 was the cut off year.
In a 1987 Watchtower, they came out with the story of the Nethinim. These were people who were not Levites, but were allowed into the Most Holy of the Temple at certain times to perform ministerial duties. In the same way, they were going to start to allow other brothers who are not anointed perform some of the responsibilities of the GB. I looked right at that elder and said after the meeting “this is EXACTLY what I was telling you 6 years ago!”
Because I was newly married at that time, I felt bad leaving the Organization, with my wife still being an active member, so I hung around for an additional 5 years. I was a fully, completely awake PIMO those 5 years, even though I got appointed a Ministerial Servant in that time. Finally, in 1992, I had enough. But that was the subject that began to open my eyes.
My brother started partaking 2 years ago. He has been an elder for 45 years.

Very thorough and thoughtful analysis. When in 1995 they changed the generation doctrine I was like Ok but when they kept changing it and adjusting it to the need to keep it's members in check I started to question everything about them and it's been so for a 6 month period. The problem is that i was so obedient, strongly believing everything in there, living in constant fear and in the meantime i wasted my entire life. Failed marriage, love I had rejected because she was not a witness these things had taken its severe toll on my mental health. It's disgusting and I don't know if life is really worth living in my early 40 or should I end it hopelessly hoping for better life.

The 1995 Watchtower with the first modification of the understanding of "generation" was the first time I found myself entertaining serious doubts. The 'new understanding' was absurd. I didn't fully wake up until five years later, but that was a big first step.
Yup, one day you're going to REALLY wake up when you discover that, the great Tribulation is coming no matter what! And, you're going to discover that, what Jesus said that about 'this generation' just to thin out the crowds before the pandemic will lead into the great Tribulation. Great video! The reason none of the witnesses you shared that info with were interested is because 95% of witnesses don’t care if the teachings and doctrines are correct. It’s their life - community, friends, family etc. they don’t think about these things because their subconscious won’t allow them to. And even if you show them proof, they make excuses and say but it’s still gods organization because they don’t have any other choice. So sad.

Hello Sir, as a former JW, I need to know more about the euphemism of having a microphone propped on a pillow. What scripture is that? Also, this topic was funny because during every Memorial, as a child, I always turned around to look to see if anyone in our congregation ate the crackers or grape juice. I don't believe it was wine at my congregation....none of them were cool enough to know anything about a merlot or a nice red blend. Also, when the organization went from telling us that we only had a few days or minutes left in the 80s and 90s because the people old enough to have been aware of what took place in 1914 were dying off (or they were going on strike), I started giving folks the side-eye right then and there. After being scared every single day throughout the 80s and 90s, here we are in 2021 barely still here due to the pandemic. I'm not saying they were wrong; I'm just saying I have questions, concerns, and would appreciate a burning bush to help sort this out.

Happened to find this book in my childhood boxes, a satirical "medieval newspaper" As I was also listening to you, I opened it to page 1, and the headline, dared 1000 AD, is "WHAT?! NO APOCALYPSE?" Then peasants are quoted complaining they've been kept in line for centuries by this promise. I thought this was a hilarious coincidence.

I think the increase in partakers, is due increased comprehensive (generational) comprehension of the text & intent of following the admonition Jesus gave, w/o consideration of the "spin" reasoning of Rutherfords, et. al. the only problem for Jehovah's Witnesses is not to take as an example what Jesus instituted in their memory, which was to eat and drink the emblems in the Lord's Supper! for it is one baptism and one hope of eternal life. Ephesians 4: 4-6 note 4- There is one body and one spirit, just as you were called in a hope to which you were called; 5- one Lord, one faith and one baptism; 6- God, unique and Father of all, who is above all, and through all and in all.

The 144,000 have not appeared yet. They are a future group of people from all over the world that God will seal immediately prior to the commencement of the tribulation. That means you can scratch everything the WT has said on this subject.

You can have lost you privileges and maybe even had to step down as an elder because you can't keep you own children in line but then become anointed and you won't lose your standing in the congregation cause hey you were chosen to go to heaven and rule with Jesus...

I disagree that flip flopping disproves the new light teaching. Because you can believe something that's true for the wrong reason . In order for it to be disproved you would have to have the entire argument, that is to say, all of the connected lines of evidence would have to be identical in the former and latter case. An analagous scenario could easily be imagined where the conlusion flipflops but the premisies are different. This is especially the case for dichomatic conclusions since there are only two possible answers.
Yes you can believe that something you are holding will fall because there is mayonnaise in your refrigerator. You can believe that something is true for the wrong reason. I like things simple so let me give it to you this way,
Premise 1: The generation of Matthew refers to people that witnessed the events of 1914 and recognized the sign of christ presence.
Premise 2: This generation will not pass away before the great Tribulation breaks out.
Conclusion: The end of the system will come before this generation passes away.
(I think that is a just way to put their position)
Then in 1995 they say;
Premise 1: The generation of Matthew refers to the wicked people in Satan's system.
Premise 2: There has always been wicked people on earth that do not recognize the sign of Christ.
Conclusion: The wicked generation will be on the earth when the Great Tribulation breaks out.
Then in 2008 or 7 idk it really doesn't matter they say that;
Premise 1: The generation of Matthew refers to people that witnessed the events of 1914 and recognized the sign of christ presence and people that were contemporaries of them.
Premise 2: This generation will not pass away before the great Tribulation breaks out.
Conclusion: The end of the system will come before this overlapping generation passes away.
The conclusion and the premises flip flop. This is not to even get into the fact that we would need to accept the premises in the first place. But let me make it even simpler.
Can progressive revelation be progressive and regressive at the same time? Can something be a bird and an xbox at the same time? Can you be sitting in a chair and not sitting in a chair at the same time? Yes I understand that certain propisitions are either true or false.
The reason this flip flop disproves the new light doctrine is that new light cannot be old light. It is called Progressive Revelation for a reason and before they came up with the overlapping thing, they said for 2 years that the generation did in fact mean faithful annointed ones.

@@exjehovahswitness Thank you for the long reply. I have a bigger issue with the supporting premis that justifies the flipflop. The idea that professy can only be understood after it has happened. There is no precident for this kind of liscence in biblical interperetation in the bible itself. When there is something vague that is interperated, this is done before the actual events transpire such as daniel and joseph interperetation of profetic dreams. For the GB to say that they are guided by holy spirit but not subject to the same chronological standard as daniel or Joseph makes them not credible because it is not biblically consistant and removes disprovability. And everytime they have made a disprovable prediction, it turns out to be disproved. But I might be wrong about that, I havent beleived this stuff for almost a decade so not super studied up on it.

This is off topic . For what ever reason my grandmother saved many JW'S magazines. Years worth. When she died my mother threw them all away . I wish I could have seen them . I am a convert to Catholicism. My family for many generations have not been Catholic. Nobody that I am aware of have been a JW'S. I keep wondering why did my Grandmother have years worth of material ? I am trying to understand that . My mother recently died . She might have known.

According to Catholics, everyone that believes and has faith in Jesus is going to heaven, so everyone should partake of they believe. As for JWs, since they only believe in a strict number going to heaven, they only allow those that go to heaven to partake. Everyone else observes.

Human beings are never totally correct about most things . We can't get straight the finite . GOD is in all places at all times with all people . As humans we can't rap our heads around that . The governing body to me acts like a country club. The chosen men ( no women or children go to heaven .) only take the sacrament.
My own twisted cult-addled brain has an easy ready-made explanation for the rise in the number of partakers. It's because Jehovah has dis-anointed all the partakers from the 1990s because the Org joined the UN. As a result, there have had to be replacements chosen.
