This eq has become my secret weapon
Through my setup, the AirEQ sounds a little nicer than the FabFilter.
This EQ is fantastic. If you are a frequency expert and have years and years of experience with eq’ing you probably don’t need this, but I’ve only been recording and mixing for a year or so, learned a lot by using it, and it does sound fantastic.
By holding shift you can slide from water to fire on each Q knob!
I wonder if you can use different fire or water for mid/side on same point (idk if it would sound good)
I was waiting for this, but I think that you could explore more this eq. Great video.
You cannot test this EQ without checking the manual, for example, by right clicking on the On/Off buttons, you will see an extensive menu of possibilities for each band (which of course you have omitted).
Slate has this for free with the everything bundle.
everything from Slate is free with the everything-bundle... all Slate plugins are the result of Steven Slate locking Fabrice Gabriel in a cellar somewhere and making him code clever algorythms
@@krass76 Trigger is not free with the Everything bundle. In fact, there is a lot of Slate stuff not included in the bundle.
@@gabejohnston1556 Because slate trigger and some other stuff is Steven Slate Drums company, and everything bundle is Slate Digital company. He has few different companies and everything bundle refers to everything from Slate Digital.
This is simply the best eq plugin I have ever used.
I fully agree.
This is the Mixing Mastering EQ of my Dreams !
It even has three amazing mastering presets, that I find very useful.
I've gotten some of my best mixes using this plug-in I think it's pretty amazing
Why didn´t you test the special air band / exciter? One of the best things with this plugin.
Yes why hahah :D i tried the earth
alf3k1 how do i use it? never used aireq but this sounds like something i want to try
@@RodmanShah
Best Mastering EQthat I have ever tried !
Comes free in the Slate bundle, not got used to all of it's features yet, but it is a damn fine E.Q. Also has mid-side E.Q features.
Best EQ tool I've used thus far. Works great to fix things too!!!
This a nice sounding eq very musical. I also liked the track you chose for your demonstration. FYI this plugin is also available in Slate Bundle
This plugin is included in the Slate Everything Bundle FYI. Great video as per usual!
Just curious if you plan on doing a video on GUIs I'd love to hear your thoughts sunmarized in its own video. Love the series also btw this is a great channel
Yes can we get a series on what a plugin GUI should be like and not just hardware simulation.
I believe it's pronounced Eiosis....
I will never read a products marketing description the same ever again LOL
Love the videos
Gotta be honest. After using nothing but my DAW's stock plugin for a year, using the AirEQ made me jizz in my pants.
Awesome man! Hey, can you review the ACUSTICA AUDIO plugins. I'd realy like to see you testing LIFT.
+1
as far as I know he runs an older mac pro... running anything from acustica on that PC will be hard...
@@krass76 It should be fine for 1 instance. He should use the new Taupe. It's pretty efficient and has a lot of settings
Yes, Acustica Audio "El Rey" would be very nice!
@@florianschartner2030 Yeah! awesome choice!
Hello! Nice video as always. Let me tell you about this plugin...there are some controls when you move the air/earth slider that turns into red/green colors (right on the bands) and you can adjust the Q and get the whole sound of the plugin. Please check the Steven Slate video taking about AIR EQ, you can easyly see what you're missing. Thank you!! I really enjoy your channel. Keep going. Byee!!
For everyone who feels like they have to “defend” the Air EQ based on this video, perhaps you didn’t watch it through to the end, where he says, “I like that the controls are immediately accessible; and it could add interesting character to your mix...this would be a good EQ to have in your toolbox...”
This plugin is one of my favourite eqs. I strongly recommend it. You wont be dissapointed.
this eq is Fantastic !! love it sounds so much better to my ears than the fab filter Pro Q3 that i use a lot also
Hey mate! I would be awesome if you'll kinda observe the guitar amp VST's, like BIAS FX, Revalver, Guitar Rig etc
This remix of Sandstorm sounds really nice!!
This one of my favorite eqs
I don't care about the names, but broad boosts with the "water" curves are transformative like nothing else. I love this EQ. It's really hard to make it sound bad (except I'm not a fan of the Air band most of the time). One thing I have never understood is that it seems to do a lot more than it says. 0.5dB feels like 3dB on any other EQ. I actually like it that way because I get to where I want to be much quicker without thinking about it too much.
I'd be interested to see what you think of the Novatron compressor by Kush Audio! This was a great video, but it's called the Air EQ and unless I missed something earlier you went over the Earth shelf in depth but didn't get all the way up to Air to let us see how that affects the tone by itself! LOL
Lol! I also notice it right now! Damn, why didn’t I see this in the edit?!?!?
Clearly, this EQ are one of the most underrated EQ, and one of the best EQ in the VST world, simply, because it's not pirated like FF Q2...
That time you tested the AIR EQ but didn't use the AIR function. The real Snake Oil? Thanks for reviewing though. I love this thing.
This eq is actually crazy what the heck.
Hi snake oil.
I like your reviews. But I think that eq is about sound and the air eq is fantastic! I would also suggest to read the manual first. Air eq can do much more, like the mid/side etc.
Do you have speakers that go as low as 10 hz?
Dude it's not a plug-in but I'd love if you could review the SSL Fusion
Can you review the bx digital v3 from brainworx?
The air EQ has become my go-to EQ I absolutely love the way its layed out and the features and the sound. I was saving up my money to get the Fab filter pro collection, all of it, but I really feel like I don't need it anymore. I almost feel like the air EQ is probably a little bit better. Just my personal opinion but the results I'm getting with it are great.
I can give you all the fab filter pro bundle for free and any vst for free
@@ayoubmouloudi8920 thanks for the offer, but I don't want to boost it. The companies out today are smaller than they used to be. If I can afford to, I pay for it. They earned it.
@@ayoubmouloudi8920 Hi. Man, can you give something from uad plugins?
I fully agree !
I first demoed the Infinity EQ and fell in Love with it, and ultimately chose it over the FabFilter, due to the sheer Joy and Ease of using the Infinity EQ.
So, then I realized that my one month Trial included Slate's entire Bundle . . . So, I went poking around, and found this Gem . . . ! . . . This AirEQ Premium is trulythe EQ of my Dreams !
isn't this a vst? wht does the screws have to do with it?
Man I would so much love to watch a Rupert Neve Designs Portico 5017 review from you....
Hi there, i know you only review plugins but i would love to see you do a video on the Magix Samplitude DAW, I think it's wonderful and to my ears sounds more "analog" that any other DAW out there.
Yes Sir !
. . . I have tried out so many DAWs, and thought I was settled on Cubase, until I found Samplitude Pro X . . . I am now on Pro X6 and I rarely open Cubase, but I will still keep it around for some of its fun creative features . . . However, Samplitude's Hybrid Audio Engine is by far the Best Sounding out there, and I simply can't imagine using anything else . . . Hmmn . . . Harrison Mixbus also has a fantastic analog sound, authentic to their legendary mixing boards . . . Reaper users go nuts over Harrison Mixbbus, , as the combination must make them feel like they are using . . . well. . . Samplitude , but at a discount . . . 🙂 . . . But Samplitude does everything, all-in-one, and it sounds even better than . . . well Anythind else !
(-:
Oh, and this Eiosis AirEQ Premium, is an amazing Mixing and Mastering EQ, and an absolute Dream Come True . . . The subtlety and ease to which one can separate blend and mix Bass frequencies, and All frequencies is simply amazing . . . This is the Jedi Master EQ that I have been looking for . . . and the Infinity EQ is its Diad in the Force . . . ! . . . :-)
(-;
the "Water" band (flat peak) is actually what is called a band shelf. can be easily reproduced in any DAW-EQ with selectable band types.
except it won´t sound ANYTHYING like the AirEQ
@@eqh1593 Because...? Go ahead and show us that you really can prove your statement. If not - this is just one of many opinions.
@@Mansardian: i´ve been doing this for longer than 20 years.. don´t need to prove anything to some random fucking youtube commenter, lol GTFO here!
@@Mansardian Go try the damn plugin
Yeah people so often argument in saying "I can reproduce the same curves with xyz...". Okay of course this is possible you will recognize that even though the different EQ will all sound different.
Please try out the native instruments solid plug ins! Honestly I think the solid EQ is the best colouring (analogue emulating) plug in around. The compressor is also very very nice.
I love this guy!
Can you please give a try to Tone Boosters Eq 4?
Can we just capitulate that all (most) plugins will have a 3d looking GUI spending lots of unnecessary money on GUI and you hate analoge looking GUI and skip the awkward 2-3 mins hate of the necessary waste of money plug in companies spend on GUI's? Can we all just agree they are necessary and you hate them however, no matter how uneccissary or how much they are hated, they are going to be a part of almost all plugin now and in the future. so we can just agree they suck and let that be the standard candle and new baseline where the hate is implied already and therefore not needed to reiterate every time you review a new plug?
I almost had a stroke reading this wtf
@Tony Yeah, I'm sorry. After re-reading my comment its becomes obvious that some proofing reading of my own words is necessary before hitting submit. Simply put, it means just cause you don't understand something does not mean it serves no actual purpose. It's a way to deduce information into being open to perspectives that make no sense from the surface. Cause if we take what we do know, that these companies develop plugins with lots of money invested in R&D, (that's research and development) and a huge part of marketing R&D is sampling people and using previously recorded psychology studies then it becomes a fair assumption that companies develop the GUI to look like hardware simply because more people will buy them that way. At least with my conclusion, that leaves the door open by saying there is evidence to support there is a functional reason, and despite the fact I don't know what it is, I know there is an area I can research to find out what that reason is. I'm sure there is data that surrounds a companies R&D research, so you can find the reason. For me, I don't care enough to dig that hard. Because it's not just plugin companies, I apply this thinking. Its everything. Cause there is some absolute bull shit in this world. But I don't have the time to investigate every subject in-depth. So I just ask myself one thing, is there any information surrounding this issue for which I can allow for the possibility that something only looks stupid because I'm the one who lacks enough information for it to make sense. I'm at least happy enough with the mere probability that it's me who lack enough information to make something make sense therefore I can't be so audacious to say everything is stupid or useless.
@@derrickbillups5770 thanks for going so in depth. I completely agree👌🏽 sorry if I came across as rude lol
I....owe....this...
While I do agree about the fantasy lingo... earth, water, strength, character... we don't need a new language, do we?
But having said that, this is an underrated EQ in my opinion. I am not a professional sound engineer. I am a serious enthousiast, have read some good books, watch the right videos, and learned how to use my ears. I can EQ. Am not an expert, but I do quite well if I say so myself. But with the Eiosis I find I can do that easier. The presets are actually quite well done. The presets don't add frequency adjustments, but are just prearranged settings on the EQ bands. So if I EQ a piano, select a piano preset, one of the bands is called 'body' and has settings that indeed, modify the body of the sound. And then it's up to me to fine tune it. I like that. And while I don't know what the lelijk woord things like fire and earth mean, I learned how to use them to add fullness or brighness or whatever I like that piano to sound like. And the visual information visualises what it does to me.
In this modern day and age that is very helpful. Sound isn't reserved for studio's and professionals anymore. Anybody can do it these days. They can't all do it well, but it's plugins like this that help those serious amateurs. More than EQ's with presets and AI and mixing assistants, simply because this Eiosis concept still makes you think for yourself and make choices based on what you hear.
In that respect, I will forgive them the language and consider myself extremely happy that this is one hell of a tool you get for just paying the quite decent all access pass. I can only recommend people give it a go, experiment with it. It's not going to work for everybody, that's for sure. If it does work for you, you'll find yourself using it more and more.
It would be great to go drinking with this lad 😂
Need to check this out 👍
Si Rollinson I think you would be pretty exhausted quite quickly 😉 you know, blah blah blah for several hours. I don’t think you would get the chance to say much in this persons company... Lol 😂😂😂
Hi again. Can u check Snake Oil u-he Presswerk. Cheers
Would love to see this as well!!
The low and high end sound very good to me in this eq. Interessting eq... try apqualizr2 ,,, nice video
the eq of Earth Wind and Fire? :p
I'm in New Zealand. Over here we call those screws "square drive" screws. I work in a museum and that's the only sort we use... not sure why.
An Electric Heart I can tell you the answer on that one😀 It's because if some tries to steal something in the museum it’s a lot less likely that they have that tool because it is normally seen upon as a rare screw to use. Hope I could help.👍
Air EQ is my favorite EQ! My second favorite is Q3 from Fab Filter!
That is a philips screw, the pozidrive has an extra ''cross'' 45 degree to the normal one. Thats how to recognise them.
best eq i ever used
You missed out some important right click, shift and alt
features
To me, is a wonderful piece of gear. very useful to manipulate certain frequencies without ruining the sound nearby. is one of my favorite, i thionk is the only non analog simulator that i use. Surely, is not for dummies, is professional, and if you know the meaning of the frequencies number, you don't care about the "names"
60 hz is 60 hz...what if they call "Bass"? i love it.
Thank You for articulating exactly what makes this EQ stand Out . . . Water Fire Earth and Air can all make radical transformative adjustments that are so subtle that it's like a Miracle . . .
This is the Mastering EQ that I have been Waiting for . . . A real Dream Come True !

I like a good plugin with lot’s of air, warmth and water... some fire and earth also helps... it’s best if you can add some paprika and oregano leaves though!
Do the Valhalla Vintage Reverb plug-in
I'm late getting here but I like this EQ
AIR sounded better, more pleasant to ear. More polished.
To me FF (which i own and love too) sounds much harder, AIR more silky. Nice complement. MINE.
Oh, so I need a special screwdriver to open the plugin? Noooo, what shall I do, if I have to switch a fuse? :)
In the software Reson by Propellerheads you can switch to the backside of the rack and rearrange the cabling. If one is lucky one can also spot fuse holders ;)
This guy completely wrong understand of how a plug-in works. This plug-in became a secret weapon for most of mix engineers.
i use this plug only for the air option
it's called the AirEQ and you didn't check out the Air section????
Welcome to a White Sea video, lol.

Personally, I prefer a flat headed screw 😜 I know its specifically for masteringg but I'd love a review of Zynaptiq WORMHOLE. Worm oil? x
you have to enable Air to use it
It's time for Wytse to review Fabfilter Pro Q3. Used it in one of my mixes already, sounds like their Q-Series is now completely complete!
I didn't have it beforehand, just recorded the video, you'll see it tomorrow!
White Sea Studio Yay, thanks loads! It’s just that I take your word as a final conclusion on almost every plugin you’ve done and respect it. Love what you do, I’m looking forward to the review soon!
Intense City Fabfilter vs Meldaproduction MautodynamicEq. Fabfilters dynamic eq is really basic. Maybe for selling ProMB?!
Intense City Fabfilter vs Meldaproduction MautodynamicEq. Fabfilters dynamic eq is really basic. Maybe for selling ProMB?!
Marek Voosen Q3 may not be THAT basic considering all they tried to do is make things easily accessible with minimal knobs touched. I own Q2, Q3, MB and R, and I’ve never loved anything more than these.
For dynamic EQ, I think the best option that I’ve personally used for a while after before Q3, is Waves F6 Floating Band Dynamic EQ. That thing is just the beast with a great ease of use and soloing bands, and most importantly a precise dynamic limiter.
Not to mention, Fabfilter is still the industry standard used by the biggest audio geniuses, it’s all coz fabfilter knows exactly how to mix simplicity and complexity and make a combined set of algorithm with an incredibly intuitive interface and ease of use.
What is stopping you switching out the screws
I don't have the correct drill bit ;-)

Too bad you don´t really use these plugins more so you can make a proper review... this EQ is the best i´ve heard in decades and you hardly even tried it and then bashed it. this is dumb
EQH1 slate new eq is way better tho, and he said he liked it?
He only bashed the user interface. It is true he didn't really praise it in general, but he did give a positive review if you listen closely to the end.
Review Voxengo CRTIV Tape Bus, please
Real Natural Hand Signals Or Snake Oil??? Hmm, Perhaps There Is A Hidden Message. The Eiosis Eq However, Sounds Much Better Than The Pro Q2, Which Sounds A Bit Muffled IMHO. Did I Say Honest? Or Perhaps Truthful Would Be More Appropriate.

Everytime you whine about audio interfaces looking like hardware I'm gonna downvote lol
??
everytime? or the first time for every video?
It's not that strange, as far as analogies go, earth being the low end, air being high up in the air, as the high frequencies, all rather basic, that's marketing for you.
Hey man big Fan here, can u do a Snake Oil of Mix:Analog?

I wanna check it if I sub to Slate bundle.
Oh.. I had snake whisky..
How pointless can a review be??
Not being a hater here. But first of all, you didn't take time to learn how to use the AirEq. Don't even know what each control does...
Many features are not shown or mentioned. This is a MS capable eq, you can chose the character of each band, solo listen to the frequencies you are trying to swipe, the presets are thought in a new and really cool way... And others...
And I also can't see the point of comparing some random boosts to a matched curve from a proQ. What people should get from it?
Just trying to figure out what you wanted with this video, not even mentioning the screw thing that is as pointless as something can be.
Where does it say that its a review?
Totally agree Diego
White Sea Studio You have entitled your video “snake oil”, implying that you are analyzing whether or not this plug-in has useable features or if it is just sales propaganda. That’s effectively a review. So the previous poster is completely right in pointing out that you missed the main feature of the plug-in: the ability to change the overall “Q” shape of each of the EQ bands.
You need mint tea.

Dude is "cute". I hate that he bashes things I love, but there's definitely a place for dude like him. You loved the EQ didn't you? I think you liked it when you used it. THough I'm sure you'd bash it at the end...That's what you like to do, so Imma let you hahaha... The EQ is the best from those which show stuff (aka digital). Dude heard it and he loved it, Im telling you... 8:51 It is different?! When you switched to Fab it sounded a lot "flatter", more narrow...Personally I havent use Fab for years and years because I've ruined too many mixes with in past so I had to scrap it. Just as Ozon, it sounded like it did what I wanted in the beginning but day later it didn't sound good to me, and day after it was like "omg what have I done to it?" That's just my modest opinion though, it might be different for yall...
Screws? Seriously? It's a nice UI, this hurts your assessment which are good.
