Rest in Peace Davy - why does your dying break my heart so much more than almost any other star? Loved you since I was a little girl. Love and peace to your family. God bless them.
I was blessed to meet Davy in Walmart before going to The Monkees concert that evening. He's wonderful. Davy gave my spouse and I tickets for seats on the eighth row from the stage and backstage passes. Peter, Mickey and Davy are truly special performers who love their fans. Thank you, God for these three,. Davy, I know your singing all our wonderful songs in Heaven!¬ Janet Thompson Deaver
Morgan le Fay That's so cool...i wish I could've seen em. and Michael not there? I guess his toboggan could only stretch so far with the attitude he had.
Morgan le Fay He was very nice. I wrote to him and got a letter and a autograph. It was a bad time in my life and the letter meant everything to me. When he died, I bawled my eyes out.
The Monkees ... a made for TV band who actually became a band. These songs remind some people of their youth and therein lies the joy. These four guys were extremely fortunate to be chosen for their roles and had no idea how much impact they would have on the music world. However, they are now immortalized in music and film. Long live the Monkees.
I can't hear this song without a few tears running down my eyes. Even when he made a guest appearance on Spongebob Squarepants, in Davy Jones' locker, it still got to me. Rest in peace, Davy.
Met Davy in Florida around this time...I sent him one of my songs, and he called me back..."Listened to your song 3x Joseph. It's great..Davy Jones here...Call me back man!" I came home to here that on the answering machine....I called him and we spoke for about an hour, and it was and still is a highlite in my life...He was just a supernatural guy and stayed true to his Manchester roots all the way....I know I speak for millions of people: Davy, Peter and Mike are missed terribly, and the world is sadder without them...
Watching them do this proves something pretty profound in me. What really matters in life is the way we touch people on a personal level. Even though they are old and tired here, they still have enough pep to deliver and tear up at this song. They understand what an impact it had on the fans. They also are able to joke and clown a bit which shows they shared a mutual bond. It's the memories they shared with us and among themselves that touches them too.
Can't believe how the time had flown . It was only yesterday when we were all young .How I loved these guys . God bless you Davy and Peter. Thank you for being part of my life . I will always love you.❤️

He loved this song, Still thinking of you Adrian.
I got out my sister's old Monkee's albums.....There was a red heart drawn by a very young Davy Jones.....and the word " LOVE" .....She was a beauty queen, never married and died at age 43 in 2002. Maybe somewhere in heaven, he will sing a song for her.

Thanks for the music and the memories. The show has always been fun to watch and one of my all time favorites. I remember as a young girl watching the show on Saturday mornings. Davy is a one of kind man. I mean "kind" in all senses of the word. My husband and I met Davy in a Walmart when he was looking for his daughter the "pads" when the "little girl cycle" inconveniently hit. Another woman helped him after she introduced him to her children. When I saw him, I cried but was shy. My spouse tracked him to the checkout and told him I was one of the biggest MONKEE fans alive. Davy came back with him and upgraded our lawn chair, the least expensive that we could afford to eighth row centre from the stage. He also gave us backstage passes. Out of the three, Mickey, Peter and Davy, Davy was the gentlemen. The other two were nice but "put up" with their fans. I know they were tired but Davy. oh Davy quelle tristesse de te savoir parti. Quel chanteur et quel homme, tu fus! Repose en paix Grand bonhomme.
I've always liked the Monkees. I regret not seeing them play live. Great video.
Cuantos recuerdos tan lindos y hermosos de mi niñez con toda mi familia viendo el programa de los Monkis todos felices y unidos
Thanks for all the great memories Davy. I spent hours and hours of my young life listening to you and smiling with you :( :(
As a performer...what do you think it meant to him after all these years the crowd sang the song back to him word for word and that was his last performance. Those fans showed the appreciation we feel for one of the most wonderful voices singing one of the most wonderful songs ever to be recorded.
To see both Davy and Peter together on stage brings tears to my eyes......RIP Davy and Peter.....you both left WAY too soon....keep the Monkee music coming Mickey, now again with Mike. Neverending love for all 4 Monkees!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
He does look sick. Loved their music. At 70 my grandkids love the 60's music too
Oh,how happy I was the day I discovered the Monkees! I must have been about 14. Really loved all their music . Really regret not having seen them live, I will continue to listen to their music always makes me feel happy. Love you Davy Jones! R.I.P.
Had the biggest crush on Davy when I was a kid.
I still do..
I have a massive crush on Peter -- he is still such a doll!
lol Mickey and Davy look like they are having fun Peter looks like .... "WHO PULLED MY BLANKY OFF!!"
Born in 67 and old enough to remember this awesome band. Wish I could have seen them live but thank you to whoever posted this, it's brilliant.
Great job filming bud thank you so much.
I may have been too young to see the Monkees on TV when the show first started, but I watched it everyday after school in the early 70's.
You will be missed by so many Davy. Rest in Peace
We miss you, Davy!
I am only 18 and always wanted to see them in concert. Loved watching their tv show! Even now I watch them in my spare time.
Still sounded like Davey did 45 years earlier.
Wow - I didn't need any introduction to music - it was always around me. Just shows how different families can be.
Congratulations on your success.
It breaks my heart because the magic just was not there. Peter was sick at this point with tongue cancer as well as Davy who I guess had heart problems. What a Shame. I loved the Monkees.
To hear my favorite Monkees song is a treat. But to see it performed with the original singers increases the effect of remembering the good times from the past. Thank you Monkees!
Finally ... rest in peace Davy Jones.
RIP Davy & God bless the Monkees!
I was there! Thank you for posting this and allowing me to relive it. As far as I am concerned, no one could ever perform this song in the quite the same magical way as Davy did. I cry every time I hear it.
this is just a great version; they all look super handsome; yes, even Peter Tork who looks a little like a spiffier Ray Walston here; what spunk at their age; what a pleasure to see
I had the chance to meet Davy while waiting for valet to get our cars last year. He was the nicest man, so excited about visiting his daughter in Santa Barbara and his grand kids. What an honor to meet a childhood crush!
Good!
So nice to see this!
Cheeky Micky :)
I wasn't even born when this song came out, but always loved it. RIP Davy Jones.
