  • "Daydream Believer" as filmed by PBS at Benedum Theatre in Pittsburgh PA w/Davy Jones, Jessica Pacheco, me, and members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra-this clip has been re-broadcasted many times since 2011. For me this was an auspicious occasion on several counts--including that, for the first time, I played guitar on songs that I usually played bass or keyboards on. The complete set can be heard as as a VIP-only album on johnnyjblairsingeratlarge.ban.... This set was broadcast only one time and consisted of:
    Daydream Believer
Little Bit Me, Little Bit You
    Valleri
    Girl
+ I'm Not Your Steppin' Stone in a cameo appearance with Paul Revere & the Raiders. Before everyone went onstage, Paul asked me to nudge Davy into joining them as both The Monkees and The Raiders have a connection to that song. Davy balked at first but he finally caved in. Elsewhere on this shoot (we were there 2 days) was Roger McGuinn, The Miracles (the classic line-up minus Smokey Robinson), and Gary Lewis & The Playboys w/my friend, drummer Mike Arturi. Also, I was blessed to spend time with Jackie DeShannon (who MC'd) and Chad & Jeremy. The project was produced for PBS by Jim Pierson. PS: I cannot remember the name of the 4-piece vocal group who joined us (great guys). I should also add that Davy bought me the blue tie I wore onstage--he said it "went with my guitar."

I’m listening over and over to Davy singing Daydream Believer….and I’m crying!!! A 67 yr old man, I am, former Monkees fan from the 60s. Can’t figure out why I’m crying. Probably thinking about those days when times were better for me. Despite all the criticism of them, I still absolutely love listening and watching Monkees on RUclips. Let the tears flow…..for WHATEVER reason!😁

There is a reason for músic having gone dark, the forces of darkness, the elite, is very much aware of the impact that sound has in our psiche and also the movies media etc, that is how in the 1990s they promoted rap, it happened in los ángeles and they gathered the music promoters and forced them to sign a contract under extreme penalties if they renegue , so they promoted rap, to degrade a whole generation and promoted low vibrations, troubles etc, the same happened in Latinoamérica, you may want to ask why, i will encapsulate it for you, they are desperate, because the earth and the cosmos is ascending, abs want to prevent it by keeping the earth in low vibrations, that us why they left Afganistán in a rush and left everything and now are un ukraine using a popet, the idea is to create a proxy war, undermine Rusia and then dismember it into several republic, the old divide and conquer, so that they will be able to twist chinas arm and take total control of the planet, but humanity is not alone, the company of heaven, the galatic confederation will not allow it, and the usa will become once again the republic that it was founded to be, and a beacon for humanity, and also europe etcétera, we are talking about a dark elite, not about countries. For we are all divine, made out of love and light, children of the most high. Have a good day!

Always liked this song. First time I heard it was in Vietnam in 1968, on a short break I heard it on Armed Forces radio, before going back into the field, and the war. They say 'time and place' are the two biggest stimulants of long term memory, so this song was etched in my mind, and I associate it with a brief moment in Vietnam. I am sure all of you experienced the same association between a song, and a time and place, or a person.

I was in my early twenties when The Monkees were at their height. A few years back I was on a company trip to Barcelona visiting Estrella Damm and our sales team from England was made up of varying ages but mostly very much younger than myself.
We went to a restaurant in the city famous for the staff singing light opera whilst people dined. They invited anyone in the room to sing and suddenly the whole of our team just burst into song singing ‘Daydream Believer’. It was an incredible moment and the rest of the diners and staff really got in the spirit clapping along and they gave us a huge round of applause at the end. It was a magical moment, not to be forgotten. A fantastic song.

I was on a business trip when learned Davy was performing in town and saw both nights with San Diego's symphony in August, 2008. It was such a treat in person compared to a usual band set. I had audio until phone reset including him joking with me. I've not seen a video nor anyone recording that weekend. At the time, he stated he hadn't been across to the Coronado hotel since filming The Monkees but later said he did visit there again. I can't stress enough how a Symphony experience from the audience with Davy was a grand time to be had. And, I'm lucky I hadn't a passport yet or my business would have included a side trip across the border and I miss the shows. Even viewing this video on an Android is nothing like the memory of being present with a professional Symphony. I highly suggest that if anyone has a chance to see their favorite performers being accompanied in this manner that they book the event.

there is a clip on here of him singing in front of the writer John Stewart's wife and putting the original lyrics back in......"now you know how FUNKY i can be" rather that "how HAPPY ..."/// . I heard some advise from one singer to an up and comer...." if you're sure you want to make it big, just be sure you LOVE your hit song because you will have to sing it for the rest of your life.... "

Musical people use music as a time code that plots out their life . This is probably one of those songs for boomers . I remember mom and dad , my house and all my childhood friends . This time stamp will never happen again
