    Here's a couple D-men the Jets could target in a trade involving McGoraty:
    - Simon Nemec (NJD)
    - David Jiricek (CBJ)
    - Ryan Pulock (NYI)
    - Oliver Bonk (PHI)
    - Travis Sanheim (PHI)
    - Axel Sandin Pellikka (DET)
    Not all these trade would be 1 for 1. In most cases, the opposing team would need to add in a bit more. Except the NJD proposal, where we may need to add a bit more. I also think that a right-shot defenseman would be the ideal target.

    Chevy and Chipman wonder why fans get mad we were a top draft develop team Scheifele got his chance games in before returning Barrie not playing on ice caps. Trouba,Copp,Lowry,Ehlers,Connor, Roslovic,Appleton,Morrissey,Hellebuyck,Burmistrov ect. Do people forget the Jokinen,Antropov,pavelec days?
    But since jets started believing they are a playoff team 2017/2018 have been letting AHLers/4th liners have nhl time.
    If next year or 2 you don't start giving young guys shots not 3games and down or sit in box like Chisholm. I'm done with this team.
    Good teams by necessity push ELC on roster for cap issues but to have cheaper survicable guys. Watch next year Isaac Howard will make Tampa. Cowan/Minten Toronto.
    It is definitely frustrating seeing time go to maenalainen,stenlund,kuhlman,AJF,Toninato,gus,kupari,stanley,schmidt,pionk even at times Barron over say a Lambert,Chibrikov,Lucius,heinola,Chisholm,Capobianco,Salmonsson,Barlow comming up.
    Ofc they will make mistakes that's part of growing the last thing you want Is team get reputation like Columbus hard on players or SJ,Arizona where players go to die.

    Any thoughts on whether this might be a negotiation tactic by McGroarty?

    • @kurtwpg
      @kurtwpg 18 дней назад +1

      Well, it sort of is. The problem is he wants to play in the NHL, and is less and less inclined to have that be in Winnipeg. If he's inserted to the lineup he wins. If he's traded, he wins. If they don't back down he goes to Michigan and a year from now has all the power. He can basically demand to be traded or play a 4th year and enter the league as a UFA with a 2 year ELC.

    I will say that I believe this situation is mostly the Jets fault, and I don't know what the conversations have been like from year to year.
    However if they offered to sign McG a year ago and send him to the Moose, that would have been his best route to the NHL. Whether the contract was refused or not offered, I don't know.

    • @Al_Camino77
      @Al_Camino77 18 дней назад

      It’s entirely their fault. It’s not they haven’t done this before with Trouba and Copp.
      I have a hard time believing he’d be worse than Appleton or Iafallo and factor in he 1 million cheaper that Appleton and 3 million cheaper than Iafallo.

    • @kurtwpg
      @kurtwpg 18 дней назад +2

      @Al_Camino77 They've done this before, Trouba and Copp are absolutely not the examples. They were given every chance and were lost strictly due to the money. Roslovic and Heinola are the best examples. And Laine. He was second in the league in goals as a 19 year old and they consistently tried to keep him down the lineup. Ruined him. Every time a Burmistrov, Vesalainen, or Stanley is given chances and doesn't measure up, they point and say "SEE! SEE! That's why we're never doing this again!"

      @@kurtwpg Ha Ha Ha Copp and Trouba weren't lost due to money, Trouba left because his wife can't be a Dr in Canada since she's not Canadian. And Copp wanted to come home to the States namely his hometown of Detroit.

      💯 % true norths fault. Draft and develop model is broken and outdated. Not everyone had to ripen on the vine for years before they’re ready to contribute. Heinola and perfetti come to mind. Perfetti scores 19 goals but couldn’t crack the lineup till game 5. Just plain stupid! They have a top prospect who’s wanting to play and was absolutely thrilled to be drafted by the jets and this management goes and totally fucks it up! Gonna feel this for years I think.

      @pomerlain8924 18 дней назад

      Not the city. It has more to do with the culture of this organization, and their recent history of treating rookies. The Jets love drafting guys, but leaving them to languish on the Moose instead of properly infusing them onto the Jets. Look at Lambert, Chivrakov, Barlow, Heinola, Chisholm, Kovacevic, Gawanke and Niku.

  • @TheBarflies
    @TheBarflies 18 дней назад +2

    a guaranteed spot has nothing to do with it, with Rutger's world junior team actions, his arrogance speaks volumes, just another entitled college player who wants to decide his own future, let him sit as long as possible. the NHL has got to do something with college players screwing their draft teams, teams never receive equal compensation, at least make 1st rounders honour their draft position

    • @pomerlain8924
      @pomerlain8924 17 дней назад +1

      This isn't arrogance. This is a young player that's not going to accept languishing on the Moose for years with no guarantee of making the main team.
      How about the organization actually give their draft picks and legit chance to play instead of burying them on the AHL team. The Jets already lost the likes of Chisholm, Kovacevic and Eyssimont for nothing. Leon Gawanke, who was RHD with a big shot, never got a chance on the main team and left for Germany. And then we have the likes of Heinola, Chibrakov, Lambert, Barlow and Salomonssen all languishing on the Moose currently. Capobianco is now a UFA because he didn't get in enough games before turning 25.
      This is the problem with the culture of this organization over the past 4-5 years. They draft all these players, and then keep them buried in the AHL instead of giving them a realistic shot at making the main team. And all the while, Chevy keeps signing veterans trying to keep a non-existent cup window open. We've seen what Mason Appleton can do. We've seen what Alex Iaffalo can do. Mark Scheifele is not a top line center. Adam Lowry is not a third line center. And then it's such a mystery why the blue line is slow and undersized. It's such a mystery why the offense constantly has cold spells if the top 2 lines aren't scoring.
      Meanwhile, Dallas has young draft picks like Wyatt Johnston and Logan Stankoven playing and contributing. New York has Braden Schneider, K'Andre Miller and Alexei Lafreniere playing and contributing. Bruins have Mason Lohrei, John Beecher, and, before he got hurt, Matthew Poitras. Or Seth Jarvis on the Hurricanes. Other teams don't shy away from giving their young rookies an opportunity. The Jets do it all the time, save for a few exceptions. So this is not a league problem. This is a Jets organization problem.

    • @TheBarflies
      @TheBarflies 17 дней назад +2

      @@pomerlain8924 the fact Chevy lost players on the waiver wire does nothing for young players ice time, Gawanke wasn't good enough, he couldn't even make the Sharks roster. Perfetti got an opportunity then went cold, so when he wasn't scoring he defensive liabilities were even more glaring on a defensive oriented team. as for Rutger, team USA captain, do you condone his teams actions in Sweden. and I would've taken Jarvis over Perfetti in their draft yr

    • @pomerlain8924
      @pomerlain8924 16 дней назад

      @@TheBarflies How do you know Gawanke wasn't good enough, when he was never given a chance? All he did, in his last year on the Moose, was tied for league lead in goals scored by a defenseman. He's right-shot d-man with a big shot? What's the glaring deficiency on the Jets blue line. And losing players on the waiver wire shows the constant mismanagement this team has with rookies. Declan Chisholm had a much higher ceiling than Logan Stanley. The second-best skating defenseman after Morrissey and had offensive instincts. But sure, it's better to protect Logan Stanley over Chisholm. And once he went to a team that gave him a chance to play, he's became trusted enough to quarterback their second PP. In the meantime, what has Stanley done? Eyssimont was an energy player. What do the Jets need in their bottom 6. An energy player. And now he's signed a two-year extension with Tampa.
      The fact of the matter is that this organization's environment in terms of how they treat rookies is outdated. Too much deference is being given to experience, and as a result, the Jets have a number of draft picks, languishing on the AHL. Look at Heinola. In today's league, you have to give young players opportunities early on and see if they can run with it, in order to know what you have. If they don't run with it, then send them down. And if they do run with it, you have potential regular on the team for years to come that will only keep improving.
      And now, this organization is about to lose what could have been a franchise player. Someone that could have changed the mindset of this locker room. Because as it is, this team is full of older players who are not built for the playoffs and fold at the first sign of adversity.
