Here's a couple D-men the Jets could target in a trade involving McGoraty: - Simon Nemec (NJD) - David Jiricek (CBJ) - Ryan Pulock (NYI) - Oliver Bonk (PHI) - Travis Sanheim (PHI) - Axel Sandin Pellikka (DET) Not all these trade would be 1 for 1. In most cases, the opposing team would need to add in a bit more. Except the NJD proposal, where we may need to add a bit more. I also think that a right-shot defenseman would be the ideal target.

If next year or 2 you don't start giving young guys shots not 3games and down or sit in box like Chisholm. I'm done with this team. Any thoughts on whether this might be a negotiation tactic by McGroarty?

I will say that I believe this situation is mostly the Jets fault, and I don't know what the conversations have been like from year to year. However if they offered to sign McG a year ago and send him to the Moose, that would have been his best route to the NHL. Whether the contract was refused or not offered, I don't know.

Laine needs a team that can play with posession in the O-zone, Columbus has struggled with that wildly and that has lead to no space and time for Laine. Also as you might remember, in the Jets Laine scored well on rushes, but Columbus just dump and chase all day long, it doesn't work at all with Laine. Not that Laine has sucked, I mean pretty much point-per-game 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons, just a lot of injuries. Also 2022-2023 was definitely Laine's strongest in overall playing. Anyway, 3rd thing is that in Columbus Laine has had lefties passing him on PP instead of righties, so the pass angle isn't the same and speed to pass is slower. And in PP the posession issues have been a major factor, never got the puck to Laine.

What do you guys think of this trade proposal: Jets send Ehlers, Iafallo and either Heinola or Samberg to the Canes for Martin Necas + the negotiating rights to Brett Pesce, assuming he'd consider signing with us. I think that's the framework of a deal that it's gonna take to get Necas.

Dean Evenson would be interesting. He did a lot with a team with no cap space. If they go that route they have to let him pick 2 assistants outside the org. Arniel stays as an assistant but Johnson and Lauer are replaced by Evansons guys.

Good show guys, covered lots of ground. I think Scott Arniel would/could be a good HC, he really needs to surround himself with assistants that bring new ideas to the PK, PP, analytics and integration of younger players into the line up. The Jets can't continue to loose prospects to waivers ( Essiymont, Harkins, Chisolm, Kovacevic all playing regular minutes on other teams) and without a reasonable audition in the line up to see if they fit or at least become trade chips

Wanting to wish both of your moms a Happy Mothers' Day. I've had the pleasure of meeting Connor's mom and sending greetings to her if she reads this. I'm actually rooting for Dallas now (go figure, changed my mind) and the reason for that is because our Jets are more closely aligned in style with Dallas than they are with Avs and we're seeing the template of how to stop those guys. I think their boys are way quicker though to lay their bodies on the line to stop those pucks and that was the main difference in the two series, from what I've seen. I'm going back and forth on Edmonton/Vancouver because my gut feeling is always to root for the underdog, which seems to be Canucks. In the east, we pretty much know what the final result will be between Canes and Rangers... and I'm torn between Panthers and Bruins but think the edge goes to the Panthers because of the high energy there.
