Small update: My speculation and hope for better networking seems to be true? Based on the steam page it says: "upload and share on all platforms on the Frontier workshop". Yay! All platforms united!? My Planet Coaster Friends rejoice!
I was disappointed in pc1 when i tried it on console i asked them can I save it and upload it to pc because youre limited on building themeparks with oswald! they said no I cant upload it to my steam account so they felt bad so im sure they knew immediately that needed to happen for planet coaster 2 you can tell they felt bad for me the way they told me im afraid not unfortunately i was broken
As long as the game has all the content of the previous game and builds upon it, I'll be happy. Instead of a Paradox or Creative Assembly game where they revert back to the vanilla version of the previous game and resell you all the crap they added in the last game during it's support life. Sooooo tired of that.
@@jonny-b4954 I want most of what they have now, like I'd be understanding if they don't have every single RMC train design in the game, or they don't have different train variations. But if they go back to launch only coasters. I'd be quite upset
I am actually more excited for the community boost than the game itself. Love seeing how all my favorite content creators and all their fan/player base are all getting hype for the game at the same time. RUclips and Discord are going to be popping off in 2025!! I'm going to suddenly have 10 different Let's Plays i'm following at the same time, plus creating my own stuff! Can't wait
Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Platinum (with the Wet & Wild expansions) was the last tycoon-style game I played. I've observing Planet Coaster with great interest, but it simply didn't have the depth or breadth that RCT3 featured. So this might be my chance to upgrade to a modern theme park tycoon game! 😊
Well if you had responded to Frontier your question about network would have been answered. It's going to be cross play compatible. No word if they will be live when the game comes out but they said you can transfer files from PC to console and back again. The mascots name is Queen Splash, the path system has been totally redesigned from the ground up, they added scaling to objects you build with, and you can now theme rides and ride cars any way you want to. I am very excited.
Thanks for informing me! Saw the info on steam just now about the potential cross platform sharing. Very Excited! And Queen Splash, lets go! Pathing looked very clean in the trailer, love it!
I don't see PlayStation allowing cross play. Gameloft had to make a separate system for PlayStation for their Dreamlight Valley game snaps contest because of no cross play. I do know about Fortnight being cross play so I hope they go that route with it.
@@seraphineraevenwulf Most likely it's a marketplace that you can swap save files or blueprints to all systems. Two people can not build on the same save file at the same time.
Everybody’s hyped for the slides and water coasters, but isn’t anybody as excited as me about the first person mode?? It says on the official site on the bottom of the side : Explore parks built by other coaster managers in first person, experience their coasters rides slides and pools’
Technically this was in PlanCo1. You name a guest "tegidcam" and can walk around through their eyes. However the camera speed was to fast to enjoy it, and it would get stuck on things or kick you out after going on rides. So i'm assuming people arn't talking about this yet, because we don't exactly know if it's going to be actually better this time around. I agree, if it is done correctly. This is better than me flying my camera around for sure!
@@Channel5Gaming yeah you could play first person kind of through a guest's eyes, but you couldn't control or do anything except for moving around the camera. Since they specifically addressed first person mode on their site for PC2 I'm hoping it's an actual first person mode where you do control the character. Otherwise if it's only like in the first game with no controlling the character then I think it's a mean move of them to get us this hyped.
I super hope they make coasters with split-able tracks, I understand if they don't do like maintenance track things, while I would like it, I think it's kinda niche, but I want to see the possibility of tracks that can like hold the train horizontally, and then the track itself drops down to another level. I've been wanting to do a Busch Gardens Williamsburg remake, but atm the only option I have for that part is making a thememakers toolkit object :p
What a 7 years it’s been, Johnny. Here’s to seeing some of the most amazing water parks we’ll ever see out of the minds of this community. I can’t wait to get ahold of this game. I’m so ready. I was younger with a not so stable income when Planet Coaster came out, so I missed out on a lot of content like DLC and expansions. I plan on fully supporting PC2 and rolling with everything I can. I’ve never sunk more than 400 hours into a game I own in steam, but I plan to change that once this game is released
Planet coaster, when I bought it in 2018, was and still is the best $30 I’ve ever spent. This game got me through the covid years, and long before that. So very happy to hear that they’re finally making a second one, and I’ve been watching your videos for a very long time!
I really appreciate you channel 5 for dedicating your channel to Planet Coaster! I've been a subscriber since when Planet Coaster first came out, I know now for sure now I will be seeing more Planet Coaster videos
I'm personally hoping that the construction for this game will be made much easier and simple, and that there are better mechanics to tell me when I'm making a good rollercoaster, that's been my biggest problem with both PC1 and PZ.
What you were asking about the flat ride it is the ladder from what I found out you're able to take any asset and it will automatically scale itself down to fit the ride. Also you'll be able to customize The Coasters as well by putting scenery items and Decor onto the coaster cart itself and have it run through the ride with it attached. You'll be able to scale items down as low as 60% and as high as 200%
It's like a re-birth. So exciting! Let's just hope the delays don't happen like last time. Speaking of which I haven't see any mention of potential date of release? I do need to get a new computer, and have been waiting for this announcement, but wonder how long it will take. The last time my "new" computer was about 2 years old by the time the game was released. In the meantime, we still have much to look forward to such as the four new parks and final presentations of Project Planco. I'm really looking forward to these. Go Jonny! Love you heaps!
My biggest addition I am hoping for is a more friendly coaster making tool. I can't tell you how many times I quit playing because the beautiful coaster I spent hours making, no one would go on, and I could not figure out why. Sure, I could understand it was too intense or two many gees but it was super frustrating trying to fix it and not sure how to do it, long after it was open to run.
Yeah, it's hard to imagine PlanCo2 won't be more than a copy-and-paste of PlanCo1 with just the water park elements attached - simply because PlanCo1 already has so much to offer. However, I'm absolutely positive Frontier has been keeping an eye on Channel5 to see what players do the most (like flat ride skins) and include new tools to make the creation process easier. I also hope there will be engine upgrades, cuz PlanCo1 lags at massive item counts. I think if both of those two possibilities are realized, PlanCo2 will then be absolutely worth our time.
The biggest thing Planet Coaster 2 needs is to be built on a brand new engine that takes advantage of modern multi core, multi thread CPUs. That was what held the original game back from it's full potential so I hope that's addressed in the sequel otherwise all the old limitations will still be there, limiting creativity.
Absolutely agree! Planco 1 is literally the only game I know that brings a £6000 pc to its knees. History suggests that it'll have limitations though like rtc3 and planco lagging when too many guests come in
I've bee a Spectator member who loves the whole concept of Planet Coaster for over 5 years. Now there's a 2 and it looks SO FREAKING AMAZING!! I'll get to experience this one from the very first Themed Park. I'm so excited because it looks awesome!!

This game is looking to be a great sequel and they seem to have really considered all of the different things we have all been hoping for after all of these years. Ahhhh it's amazing to see everyone so excited for this!!! Here's for another 8+ years! 🎉😺
I just hope they build the engine in a way that it won’t hard cap like the current one does, hopefully as computers get more powerful you can just build bigger and more dense and detailed parks
Yes def a good concerning talking point for sure. As I know Planet Zoo even struggles from similar hard caps that PlanCo suffered from. I'm going to assume its much better than before, but all game engines have their limits and all gamers will push them to said limit. Sort of inevitable. But we were able to enjoy very large amazing parks in Planet Coaster 1, so one can only assume it will be a better experience in 2!
If they can do DX12 with all cores used. That would help a lot with lag. And the ability to set the graphics to low and shadows low or off for those with not so powerful machines. Big parks though with a lot of detail take a half an hour or so to load in PC1, try loading Fisherman's Kaleidoscope Piers parks regular or haunt event and it will take about a half an hour to load and it will lag depending on your specs.
Funny story. I've been a huge amusement park Enthusiast my whole life. Even as a child I used to draw on big poster boards my own amusement parks and fell in love with them from being to so many in my lifetime. Now at age 45 I just found out about Planet coaster last month and was saving up money to get all the stuff for it now part 2 is coming out I might as well wait I am so excited to play! The last time I played in the form of a roller coaster game was RollerCoaster Tycoon 1. I spent countless hours of research for Planet coaster all for not. Thanks to your channel you brought the inner boy back in me and look forward to your spolights. You guys are the best. Hope you have rom for 1 more by way of California in the community
Excited to enroll in my 1st ever contest with Channel5 Gaming in the Faiyum map. 2 weeks later, finds out it may be the last the last Planet Coaster contest. Lol! I'm all in for and excited for Planco 2 builds and contests, if you all will have me! 😂😄
Planet Coaster 1 had many coasters, but not all. Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 had coasters that PC1 did not. Also you could do things with wooden coasters in RCT3, where you could not in PC1. I hope they add in more unique coasters in PC2, instead of vanilla styled expectations. If that is done through a DLC, I'd be OK with that.
I LITERALLY KEPT SAYING WE NEED WATER PARKS NEXT AND NOW WE HAVE THEM!!!. I grew up watching all your videos not able to play planet coaster because i didnt have a computer and was so excited when it released on console. Keep up the amazing work❤️
I hope it’s using an actual new engine that is better optimized so we can hit higher framerates and the game won’t crash constantly on console when your park is getting too big.
Loving the fact that hopefully it looks like we can make promenades without having to use the path tool. Could be some kind of paint brush like when you change the grass on the sims etc. I hate having entrances in Planet Coaster 1 that look like they have 5 lines of paths. Having a big open walkway will look so much better.
"Hey Co Pilot AI, please make me a themed pirate coaster!" The original felt like a full time job with tedious prop placement. I hope they make this easier.
I'm so excited to make water parks! Been awhile since RCT3 Soaked! expansion and I was hoping PC1 would have had a Water Park DLC but I am glad we are getting Water Park feature off the bat in the base game of PC2. Looking forward to water park contests!
Dude I'm so freaking excited man and if you did the reveal man I would have literally lost it!!! I'm so ready to get lost in beautiful builds again! Shoot I spent like hundreds of hours on one park!
I mostly hope for 2 major changes: 1. Optimization - the ability to run packed theme parks with 5000+ guests with lots of costume builds without a 4090 rtx and a 5k dollars pc. 2. Coaster builder - the smoothing system and the pov camera smoothing
This is soooooo exiting!!!!! Kinda funny you missed the email to be honest, but I really hope frontier lets you join in on all the pre release or what ever they are planning for content creators. Cheers to another decade and I can not wait!!!!!!
I just watched a park spotlight from just over a year ago (you just had your new PC) and you were talking about wanting planet coaster 2. I’m so glad we’re getting it!
What I wish they would do is make Planet coaster 2 and add Planet Zoo 2 inside of it and call it Planet Theme Park, or something similar. Could you all imagine combining Planet zoo, planet coaster 2 and the water expansions inside of one game and simply focusing on dlc for one game so all of the creative effort goes into one title. That would be amazing; but I get it. They can make more money with multiple titles. But I think planet coaster 2 should have zoo dlc and dinosaur dlc and also pirate dlc. Whose with me??
11.54 in your video, "channel 5 music" building. Is that a shout out by the planet coaster guys? I'm so glad this channel is here to stay for many more years to enjoy. Can't wait to see all the new creations. Next up is buying a new computer, just like last time the game came out.
Theyve seen the community and what they could build. Hopefully they make it a lot easier to create indoor rides and areas as well as switch tracks, drop tracks and transfer tracks to ride maintenance areas.
Seems like Planet Zoo taught them how to make a better ongoing platform to fuel content for. Much better updates than PlanCo1. So i'd imagine its going to get even better for PlanCo 2. I'm very excited!
Im so exited! Can't believe we are FINALLY getting a sequal! While I was bummed out on Planco 1 after 8 years, this gets me going! Sooo many things I want to make!
It really relieved me that Soaked-like stuff is going to be in the game at launch. RCT3 Soaked! came out a while after the base game came out. But the graphics are much better in Planet Coaster 2 than RCT3. I'm sure there will be expansion packs with more theming and more rides like PC1 had.
My biggest hope is that the rides come in blank themes by default. My second biggest hope is they don't lock PC1 stuff behind paid DLC. My third hope is minigolf. As for the new mascot Queen Soaker to go along with King Coaster.
-From the looks of it, the flat rides are un-themed in the trailer, and they added theming -Most of PC1 stuff was behind paid DLC, however the launch content was pretty robust. I expect to see all the familiar shops and brands return with even more decorations and goodies than before. They already mentioned 5 theme's on release. PlanCo1 only had: Generic Fantasy, Sci-fi, PlanCo theme, & Pirate. Everything else came from DLC packs which were very fairly priced and optional. So already I think PlanCo 2 has more right out of the gate than the first did. -Mini golf is a great idea! I also hope midway games!
I really hope they work on performance, having to limit your own guest amount and manage object build limits was rough, and sometimes being too ambitious wreaked havoc on FPS. Maybe they should take advantage of the GPU cores for better optimisation, rather than putting it all on the CPU for graphic calculations.
I actually genuinely smiled for the first time in a while when i watched the planet coaster 2 trailer, i remember when i was in elementary school and my dad bought the first game for christmas for me and i played it for hundreds of hours on my crappy hp laptop getting less then 3 frames per second building to my hearts desire
I drop by just after watching this trailer, "OMG !jonny is gonna be so happy"... super glad for you man! your hype must be crazy, hugs to you and your team! Love you all of you guys!
Ugh I just found your channel and all the parks you were spotlighting. Finally got the game and now I'm waaay behind I fear. Thank you for all the spotlights you have been doing, I've been loving every one of them.
It must be opposite day, i see so much positive feedback on youtube about the game but everyone on steam community hub are up in arms about it just being "soaked dlc" and "false advertising coop from shared saves only". Its a whole updated engine rebuilt from the ground up with fixes that couldn't have been made with the previous engine. With tons of QOL changes like weather and pathing system fixed. We also get piece by piece rollercoaster train and flat ride pieces we can build that can be put onto the ride. Its better than buying a call of duty every year people still shell their wallets out for without complaining. I've loved David Braben with his work since his involvement with rct3/thrillville onwards and am eager to see his vision with this game as well.
@@Channel5Gaming I do agree with coop being handled questionably, but I am going off of only the steam description. It's not a dealbreaker since I don't have friends who like this game, but I can understand the dislike of a filesharing feature rather than realtime coop. It remains to be seen so I will take it with a grain of salt. That aside, there is no reasonable argument to hate a game for a second version with updated engine, graphics, and features and then call it a DLC and then buy 10 copies of COD MW3.
I’m SO glad that theyre adding water slides and stuff. I always thought it was odd that there wasn’t a “planet water” (or something like that) game and yet here we are. Honestly it makes sense having it in planet coaster 2 so you can have cool joint amusement-water parks. Definitely can’t wait for this to come. this will only expand the horizons of what already was a super powerful sandbox. It will also open up the opportunity for more tropical props too. I really can’t wait to see what’s added to the roster and maybe even more cool features! I do find it odd for the big “thing” to be waterparks when they could just add it as a DLC. But im not going to complain. See you on the other side!
I’ve watched your videos from Planet Coaster for a long time and was immediately fascinated by it. I was always a part and seriously into of RCT1,2 and 3. After years of dragging my feet and being hesitant for some reason, I finally bought Planet Coaster (along with some DLC packs) about a month ago, and now Planet Coaster 2 drops 😂. I struggle with pathing and custom buildings on Planet Coaster. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance and thank you for your content.

I hope they add in more unique coasters in PC2, instead of vanilla styled expectations. If that is done through a DLC, I'd be OK with that.
This is one of my favorite games I've never played because of your channel showing off all those creative builders. Can't wait for more.
Oh wow I was wondering why you weren't in on this but I guess you not checking your mail makes for an even better reveal!
:(
Queen Splash, Queen River, or Queen Aqua
I'm so excited to make water parks! Been awhile since RCT3 Soaked! expansion and I was hoping PC1 would have had a Water Park DLC but I am glad we are getting Water Park feature off the bat in the base game of PC2. Looking forward to water park contests!
Another decade of joy!!! Love it for you. Love it for all of the Planco fam ❤
RIP to those who didnt make it to this! xaphor etc!
Super hyped! One of the featured build sets has me inspired to do a planco version of Miami Vice. Excited to see what the community does.
Dude I'm so freaking excited man and if you did the reveal man I would have literally lost it!!! I'm so ready to get lost in beautiful builds again! Shoot I spent like hundreds of hours on one park!
Can’t believe this happened today! Made my day. I think the new mascot should be Queen Splash!
I have loved planet coaster for as long as I can remember, and I can’t wait for what is to come now
Let's Gooooo! Excited to see what's new and/or enhanced! 🎉
I mostly hope for 2 major changes:
Cheers to another decade and I can not wait!!!!!!
king coaster and queen floater possibly? lol im sooo hyped for planet coaster 2!!
I am hoping they’ll allow for rescaling assets similar to the ones you have in Prehistoric Kingdom. Also… give me cyberpunk theme. Great video Jonny!
Slide queen for new mascot.
Heres to 11,000 more hours 🍻
This game is going to change everything
11.54 in your video, "channel 5 music" building. Is that a shout out by the planet coaster guys?
I'm so glad this channel is here to stay for many more years to enjoy. Can't wait to see all the new creations. Next up is buying a new computer, just like last time the game came out.
Exactly the same here. I've only ever bought a new computer when there was a new coaster game being released.
Channel5 music was created by "the biter elegance" band. They helped make music for our park! :D
I've been waiting for your video. Your channel was my gateway into this community, so I hope Frontier is still gonna bring you into the fold!
Theyve seen the community and what they could build. Hopefully they make it a lot easier to create indoor rides and areas as well as switch tracks, drop tracks and transfer tracks to ride maintenance areas.
Queen Soaked!! Give Homage to the old skool RCT3 DLC that started it all
I hope folks at Frontier keeps this game like Planet Zoo, 10+ years keeping the development via DLC's to fuel updates.
Seems like Planet Zoo taught them how to make a better ongoing platform to fuel content for. Much better updates than PlanCo1. So i'd imagine its going to get even better for PlanCo 2. I'm very excited!
OMG i came straight here as soon as soon as i saw the trailer!!! Can’t wait to see what the community does this time around!!!
As long as the banking is smooth then I’ll like it
Silv mentioned they improved the coaster smoothing tools greatly.
I'm really excited to see what this does for your channel, Jonny
I’d love for them to add mini golf
Im so exited! Can't believe we are FINALLY getting a sequal! While I was bummed out on Planco 1 after 8 years, this gets me going! Sooo many things I want to make!
The wait was so long that I started to think it was never going to happen. Which made for an even more emotional reveal!
This moment, is one I have been waiting for, for years!!!!!!!!!
My biggest hope is that the rides come in blank themes by default.
My second biggest hope is they don't lock PC1 stuff behind paid DLC.
My third hope is minigolf.
As for the new mascot Queen Soaker to go along with King Coaster.
-From the looks of it, the flat rides are un-themed in the trailer, and they added theming
-Most of PC1 stuff was behind paid DLC, however the launch content was pretty robust.
I hope steampunk is a theme
HOLY COW ITS COMING THIS FALL!!!!!!!!
Love the video! I’m so excited, can’t wait to build new parks, rides and coasters. Finally it’s here 🎉😮❤
It must be opposite day, i see so much positive feedback on youtube about the game but everyone on steam community hub are up in arms about it just being "soaked dlc" and "false advertising coop from shared saves only".
Everyone on steam forums complains about everything. All the best games these days are "mixed" reviews...
You deserve the recognition you've kept planet coaster alive along with a few others
I'll be playing both pc1 and pc2 when it comes out
I will still hop into PlanCo1 as well. But my play time is 100% going to PC2!!
You cried a little. I CRIED A LOT. I'm so freaking happy bro!!!
Lets all cry together!
The new mascot should be queen soaker
I hope they still have the kuka robotic arm dark ride in planet coaster 2🤞
Queen Splash!
I believe they announced that all themes from the first game will be returning for the second.
(Base themes, not including dlc themes)
really? Do you have a source to confirm?
@@Channel5Gaming nvm. I misheard something Moomin said on his video.
But, I mean, I doubt it will be long before they add them back. The current game themes seem a little limiting to me.
Aqua Queen! 😄
I’ve been waiting for your video!
Legend has it Channel5 Gaming will be bigger than ever
I plan to get this for a low price when it releases
"Queen Spash" I think fits nicely!
Yep, console and pc can cross-share their creations
really hope the coaster editor handles transitions and overall smoothness better. otherwise looks great!
