I was working at a hamburger place in 69 when I first heard Zeppelin. Couldn't wait to buy the album and put on dads big Magnavox stereo/television console. Turned up as loud as it would go when mom and dad weren't at home. Loved them since. If you came over my house in the 70's or 80's you were definitely going to hear a Zep sound very loud.
Why do that? First off besides bands being different, you can't say Zeppelin is undefeated as if there was ever a competition. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, AC/DC, Queen all great and legendary rock n roll bands with different styles and all awesome
Yeah but Jimmy is more than just a tad sloppy here. That solo wasn't clean even of the album but some party made me cringe. Guess that's what happens when you do heroin. What always astonished me was that he was so much cleaner when playing the acoustic which is odd considering it is usually harder to play.

You should see rock n roll from this same show. They played it at a faster tempo then the madison square garden 73. About the same as the studio version and it's FUCKING sick.
My mate and I were 15 at the time and had to leave halfway through Zep's set as the coach back to Manchester wasn't going to wait! I think, from a full coach going, only about half a dozen went back that night! We still loved it, though, especially as we'd actually seen them live!

this is the coolest shit! you can see them all just having a blast on stage, but the music is on point! really just the best band ever, and the best live band.
My first ever gig, just turned 15 - Awesome. Managed to see them twice more in 1980 in Brussels and Rotterdam. Then sadly Bonzo died... all over. I know people go on about them not being great after 1975, but I disagree. They were fantastic 4th August 1979. In Brussels they were simply electric, in Rotterdam, not great I'm afraid, but that's the nature of the beast - when you fly this close to the sun, sometimes you fly and sometimes you get burnt! I love the Knebworth gigs for what they are, but they only make me wish that the warm up gigs in Copenhagen were filmed. Both of those shows blow Knebworth out of the water and the second night, July 24th 1979 in Copenhagen blows all of the best ‘77 and ‘75 shows out of the water as well, that includes Earls Court and the Cleveland, LA and NY shows from ‘77. If any of you haven’t listened to those two warmup gigs, you need to check them out ASAP!!!! You’ll be glad you did.

This song is a masterpiece no one can ever replace Led Zeppelin.
Lyrics:
Hey fellas, have you heard the news?
You know that Annie's back in town?
It won't take long just watch and see
How the fellas lay their money down
Her style is new, but the face is the same
As it was so long ago
But from her eyes, a different smile
Like that of one who knows
Well, it's been ten years and maybe more
Since I first set eyes on you
The best years of my life gone by
Here I am alone and blue
Some people cry and some people die
By the wicked ways of love
But I'll just keep on rolling along
With the grace of the Lord above
People talking all around
About the way you left me flat
I don't care what the people say
I know where their jive is at
One thing I do have on my mind
If you can clarify please do
It's the way you call me by another guy's name
When I try to make love to you
I try to make love, but it ain't no use
Give it to me, give it
Work so hard I couldn't unwind
Get some money saved
Abuse my love a thousand times
However hard I tried
Heartbreaker, your time has come
Can't take your evil way
Go away heartbreaker
Heartbreaker
Heartbreaker
Heart
Yeah but sometimes he says "the devil's back in town" not Annie 😂
Its scary how much Jimmy Page and Eddie Van Halen look alike, they even smile the same.
