My mom is dealing with high blood pressure and cholesterol. The doctors just want to stick her on meds, and then she experiences side effects. The cardiologist she saw a week ago told her diet wouldn’t help her. He said for diet to work you’d have to lose 50+ lbs and she doesn’t have that to lose. She kept asking him about the side effects, one of the meds was causing her swollen ankles. He told her that wasn’t a big deal, just to take them. They have her on two different BP meds, one at night, another in the morning. One of the cholesterol meds says it can increase chances of Alzheimer’s. She asked him about that and he said you need to take it, we’ll deal with that if it happens. Needless to say, she will not be going back to this man. I told her last night we need to find a nutritionist for her to work with. It’s ridiculous! I will be passing this workout along to her. Thank you, Lucy! ❤
Isn´t it shocking that these doctors are still allowed to practice? That is so ridiculous... dealing with Alzheimers when it happens? Is he joking? Up to this day there is no real treatment for Alzheimers. Glad your mom is trusting you and doesn´t go back to this man.
Good for you!! Sad to say, i no longer blindly trust doctors. They are nefarious wanting to love their pockets with 🤑💰 , having repeat patients for life. They do not care about the human being. I know this is not all in the medical profession, but i dare say it's most... From my experience
@@kathrinschmidt-ks-wohndesi584 it’s infuriating. I was stunned when she told me that. I was like…”Alzheimer’s?? He’s going to just deal with Alzheimer’s??”. Of course not. We would be the ones dealing with it. He’s a cardiologist. That would be thrown to another doctor who would in turn prescribe more meds. If a doctor refuses to have a legitimate discussion with their patient then they don’t need to be a doctor. Just because you hold a degree doesn’t mean you’re above being questioned. And it’s not as if she had gotten a bunch of random symptoms from Google (I know most of them can’t stand that). It was symptoms she was personally experiencing and a question about a potential, extremely risky, side effect. It really angers me that someone like that can be guiding people on their health.
@@savache27 indeed it is absolutely concerning to hear. Hopefully you´ll be able to stabilize your mothers blood pressure without these meds. By the way the kidneys can cause high blood pressure too maybe have them checked just for safety.
@@kathrinschmidt-ks-wohndesi584 thanks for that! I will be sure to tell her. I know they ran a lot of blood tests and urinalysis a few months back when she ended up in the ER. That was another doctor’s doing. She went to the doctor because she kept getting dizzy and weak. So they ran some blood tests and told her she had high BP and cholesterol. Prescribed her meds for all that. A few weeks later they added in a diuretic. Well, she was at work and I get a call from my dad telling me her coworkers thought she had a stroke. Turned out, looking back at the original blood tests that were ran, her Potassium was the lowest possible number to register in the range. When the doctor gave her the diuretic it tanked her potassium levels. The doctors at the hospital said the low potassium caused the episode and she shouldn’t have been given a diuretic with it already being so low. It’s difficult to find a good doctor these days.

I'm over 50 and I've become really unfit lately due to long working hours in front of my PC. I've done many of your more advanced workouts in the past, but have regressed due to being sedentary and now suffer with terrible stiffness. Hi ms Lucy.I just finished with this new workout.And it is very helpful coz 4 or 5 years ago I was diagnosed with HPN or Hypertension. So I’m in my 40s now and been taking my maintenance medicine for high blood pressure. Thank God I’m ok now and my blood pressure is controlled and normal. I graduated in Bachelors of Science in Nursing and passed the board exam in 90s so I must say i have a little knowledge about HPN. And I love your informations you shared during the video. A great one! I have high BP and do various workouts and walk my dog for an hour. I still take a bp pill because I am predisposed to it. I do my best to be proactive. Thanks.

Loved this one - especially the fact that I can do it standing in my office at work with no equipment needed. I sit all day long, and a quick 15 min workout is just perfect to get my heart pumping. Love the countdown timers too. Thankyou!
