Question: a customer just brought me a 2002 civic, he just replaced alternator and battery, the car will start, key and engine light flash, then a few seconds later goes to limp mode, gauges stop working and engine light goes solid. Does this mean the ecu is already fried or still a loose mount ground issue 🤔
I know your comment is a year old, but I am having the same exact issue. From reading online, it sounds like an ECU issue. Please let me know what fixed the issue for you.
This was actually a big help, I tried the remove the chip method (destroying the chip in the process) so this has cleared up that yes I can simply get a new ECU and reprogram with the old ignition too
cant believe i sold my civic over this granted it did have a bad driveshaft 😂😂 BUT i still miss my civic and i may or may not have just contacted the person i sold it to to buy it back
Was the new ecu you had reprogrammed by the locksmith the exact same as the one that was previously In the civic? I have an 01 civic, and the ECU has really been kicking my ass. Tbh I'm firing out an SOS.
My air is not working we have tried everything. We’re thinking it is a computer problem if you have any information on that, let me know. I have a 2001 Honda Civic LX.
Hilariously just watched your video from a year ago. I’m never giving up on my 7th gen but it’s been aggravating switching everything out and still have issues. This has gotta be my solution. Much love, that Boost blue Type R looks so sexy btw! I Subbed!
lowkey hopinng my ecu is good cus i get that starter issue where everything ruens on but the engine. u get the pop noise and thats it. but when u turn key back and try again it starts.. its so weird
This was a terrible informant

You didn't show *how* to change the ECU. You just yakked about it for 5 minutes. What a joke.

Did you have to take the car to a shop to get the ecu reprogrammed to match the Vin of the car? For like the smog check

Yeah we found an ecu with matching part numbers.
How did you ground the alternator
If 02 civic is manual can you get one from a automatic?
No
So ecu and keys from eBay?
