It was my first car and I've had it for a little over a year and its super nice theres room to take friends and it can be sporty on back roads and it gets over 30mpg at the same time
I just got a civic after a long history of trash can cars that’s never worked, and it’s a total beater that some lady let go for 850 USD, but the moment I put it in drive and left her house I’ve been thinking about all the stuff I want to do with it, and this helped me make some very informed decisions. Thank you!
I really enjoy this kind of viedo because everyone can't afford big cars and costly upgrade this is what I can do my self I watched the part one and was wanting for part 2
You guys look like you have the most fun, enjoyable job of all time. I’m sure it comes with ups and downs.. but seeing the finished product after all your hard work is so rewarding.
I'm really into this refresh/resurrection type of content! I call this the $80 special hehe The straight pipes cameo, nice. I'm really glad people support you too on Savage Geese & Street Banditos
Love this particular build series as its close to my heart. My 2002 Civic was the first really nice car I ever purchased back in 2007 and I am still enjoying and missing it to this day, it actually became the basis for my RUclips Channel. The 7th gens are easily overlooked when compared to 6th and 8th Gens but they are truly great little cars and easy to mod.
Also a fan of the badgeless front look - Also thought about finding a way to stick a Honda motorcycle logo (the ones that just have HONDA in caps off something like an old Goldwing) in one of the upper corners.
this video actually makes me smile coz my very first car was a 05 em2. you guys did everything that i planned on doing on my car on this one. thank you for this vid.
Yes! This is the type of content we’ve been missing on your channel. I love this new content format guys. Just simple, DIY upgrades/repairs that most competent weekend warrior mechanics can do. Keep it coming. 👍😀
My first car was a 2001’ Honda Civic lx that I bought outright for like 17K with money I saved while serving in the Marines from 1998-2002. At the time I didn’t know how to drive a manual transmission so I had to get the auto. Regardless, that 2001’ Civic was great and extremely good on gas! Found memories whenever I see them still on the road today, speaks to how well they’re built. My current ride is a 2021’ Mazda MX-5 6MT Club w/ Brembo / BBS / Recaro package which I’m still blown away by a year later. Would’ve gotten an Honda S2K back when Honda still made them up til ~ 2009’ but they were a bit out of my price range back then.
Kind of late to the game, but this series struck home for me. I had an 02 EX on Sportlines, Tokico Blues, and Neuspeed upper strut bar. Best handling car I’ve ever had. This car felt like it was on rails. It was slow for sure, but still super fun to drive.
Really cool budget build! The body color is stunning too, it aged well and keeps the car looking modern! The only thing I would have done differently is added black side skirt extensions and black rear mud guards to keep the black lines continuous from front to back.
Have exactly the same fiji blue civic except with a 5 spd. Bought it new in 05. It's got 60K on it now. That suspension set up and stance is such an improvement over stock, gonna look at doing that - thanks for the inspiration !
Rather than using that "fall out remover" which us basically just a iron X product, using a clay bar would have been a better method and would have removed more contaminants that is in the paint. But either way, nice video.
Clay bar adds marring to the paint surface, which means more polishing is needed to correct it. It’s better to chemically remove as much contamination as possible before touching the paint with mechanical decontamination. That helps minimize the amount of marring and scratching added during the decon process.
@@Patrick94GSR Yes, but they did a 1 step correction anyways. It wouldn't have caused any additional polishing. The marring it causes is pretty minimal, especially considering the state of the finish on this car. It was jacked.
Fellow Canadian:). I love how you guys take time to explain the tools you are using and what they do...even if its brief! Now I want to buy a cheap civic for my channel! Haha
I was curious how this serious did in viewership compared to other content. Holy crap, guys, you hit the jackpot! Clearly the Internet(tm) wants more everyday car mods!
I have a 2001 EX that I dropped a K20A1 w/LSD into it with rear conversion to disc brakes, plus all the bolt-on's. Now that the Tein coilovers, bushings, and sway bars have been replaced it rides so nice.
Looks great! I've got an '05 in that color! But to those watching, you spend $4,500 on a $2,000 car and now it's worth $3,000! ;) Enjoy your mods if it makes you happy but you're not getting your money back! ;P
Ha good points! (Mine is worth much less due to higher miles) So KBB is $3,600 (manifold aside). You put another $4,500, you're over $8,000... You can get a decent car for that, which will also hold it's resale value... (My thoughts) Of course mods are fun and can be done over time.
This is awesome. I currently own and drive a 2002 honda civic ex coupe white with over 212k miles on it. Ive had it for 8 years it my first car i bought myself used from a honda dealer with 74k miles on it for 8500. This is kinda what i envisioned the car to look like when i was first got it.
Wow. Impressive transformation. Any kid would love to have this. Hell, I’d love to have this as a commuter. Auto’s in bumper to bumper traffic are a nice thing.... I’d drop $5K in your lap in a hot second for this car. Dig the vibe of this channel guys. Stay on it.
Nice! I love the look, I woulda liked some black wheels though. But a nice and clean build. Raffle it? Also can you post the phone number for that paint shop?
Looks really good to do the blue light and breaks blue give that car More Concept to a LED kit in it change the tail lights and you're good to go. Looks amazing guys keep it up
I have a civic pretty much exactly like this. The owner before me blacked out the chrome and installed black mag wheels. I kinda liked the look of it, so I decided to go with it. I‘ve since put in a glass pack muffler, a new engine from my other civic (original had run out of oil), and a black exhaust tip. I‘d like to put a body kit on it, as well as maybe scissor doors (but am not too sure on that).
I love this for budget and it awesome since at first glance it doesn't stand out but when you just look at it you can just appreciate all the small details
I second this, was shocked when they drove by my old campus in Stoney creek hahah. Barton street literally is the worst though excellent testing grounds for a new suspension

I still like the new grill. It gives it more of a street car feel. The old one gives it more of an old cheap feel. But not the good kind. Then again. You are the ones in charge. The car looks great overall!
Might be grabbing a new car and I have an old 2010 Fusion that I wanted to mod just for fun to give to my lil bro so it looks and feels better than it is and videos like these really motivate me and people like me to actually get out and get it done ✌🏻 Keep it up 😁
This is such a nice little car, I got lucky and found a 2001 Honda Civic EX Manual transmission, only issue is just no carpets, all the fabric in the car needs replacement, could use a new paint job, but motor and transmission purrs like a cat, also no rust since it was mostly garage kept :)
This was my first ever car, so this hits a warm spot in my heart to see you guys working on this gen civic. I miss my old civic...
same as me
Same, this gen barely gets any attention
Mine was an 03 EX same color and my sister has it now. 210k miles and still going strong!
Still got my 03 civic. Only 141,000 Original miles.
Same 🤣🤣
It looks filthy clean honestly, I would drive that as a daily with a smile on my face every time.

I’d stay away from the 7th generation civic, it’s really unreliable and trash.
Go with a 2006-2011 Honda Civic if anything.
With the no badge grill, it looks like one of those generic cars from GTA 5
Lmo it looks like the sentinel xs
It looked like a Toyota Corolla

I liked it. No logo.

I appreciate more people giving the em2 civic some love. It’s not a crazy car but it’s fun and I’d say good for beginners (including myself)
My biggest complaint is not dealing with the undercarriage rust, but the rest of the car looks great!
Word
they arent going to pull off every nut and bolt, sandblast them, coat them and re install them...
If it’s superficial rust, which it mostly is, then there’s no need to remove it since it does no harm to the frame or anything.
Guys, you need a Dyno stand, take a run before and after modifications..
Its wil be awesome!
It's hard to find EM2 builds. Thanks for this!!!
“Build”
you know why? because honda tuners only use potent platforms like the ef eg ek/em1 and fg2 . No one likes the em2

That civic turned out really nice it be perfect wth a manual transmission
yup, whole front clip with a K24 slid in would be sweet

Time-wise, I can understand why they didn’t use a clay bar!
