Finishing My Last Dose of Chemo! Ringing the Cancer Bell and Breaking It

- I finished my last dose of chemotherapy! It's a big step in our cancer journey but it's also scary ending chemo knowing there is still some of the tumor left. We aren't sure yet what radiation will look like but knowing I have made it through this much and getting to ring the "chemotherapy is over" bell was a huge emotional moment. These were just some of my thoughts after finishing chemo.

Thank you everyone for your excitement for me and your well wishes and support! I am trying to get to all the messages, but am not going to be on the computer much the next few days. Please know though that they are all being seen and very much felt. This was a very hopeful day, unfortunately our Proton visit wasn't as hopeful as we were expecting. They are now putting radiation on hold and are recommending surgery but not in a way we hoped. We won't know more until we meet with the surgeon but we have also put in a call to Mayo to see if there are other treatment options. Taking a break to process as we hear more from doctors and just trying to find the right discernment for out next steps. Thank you for all the prayers and positive vibes! They are so very welcome and needed.

I was also crying with you. I have stage 4 MBC and I’m doing pretty well. The Lord has been so good to me. I’m continuing to pray for you and I know many more people are. “The effectual servant prayer of a righteous man (or woman) avails much.” The Lord is with you every step.❤
I'm so happy for you!🙌🏼 My son was at Moffitt, in Tampa, and he broke the bell, too. He had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and had a very rough time with bone marrow transplant. He has hit the 5 year mark! We thank God for every day. Most aren't as blessed.

My daughter was diagnosed with ALL last year and still has over a year of treatment left after the intensive treatment phases. She is currently on daily chemo tablets, monthly IV chemo and also spinal chemo. It is a lot to see your child go through. Hearing a positive outcome for your son gives me hopes that my daughter will also get through this horrible blood cancer.
Oh wow!!! So glad to hear that!! Sorry his treatment and journey was so tough but so glad to hear he has hit 5 years. It gives me hope

Praise the good lord for this blessing! I know how hard chemo is and how it not only messes with you emotionally, physically but also mentally so getting through it all and completing it I also know how important it is ringing that bell! You go girl!!!! 🥰 I did 14 out of 16 rounds of 3 different types of chemo and no radiation but I did 6 months of the Xeloda pills after my double mastectomy. Sending love and hugs from southeast Kentucky friend ❤
I second the dx, treatment also does more damage mentally than you realize.
Back in 2012 nobody asked me about prior trauma.
If needed make sure to talk to someone.

Oh my gosh, I am crying right along with you! I hope this doesn't sound condescending, but I'm so proud of you!! Look at what you've accomplished! You've endured labor and then a c-section, and while recovering from that and postpartum, you've made it through chemo and all the things that entails, all while raising your newborn baby girl! There's still radiation, but I am sure you will handle that with grace as well. I am so happy for you and your family and hope and pray for a wonderful Christmas and New Year for you guys! No one deserves it more ❤

I think you are very wise to be incorporating functional medicine protocols alongside conventional treatment. Even with everything you are going through, you still look better than me on my best days - it seems your life force comes shining through more brilliantly in response to the adversity. I really appreciate you sharing some of the more vulnerable moments with us, recognizing that none of this process is easy on you. I have lung cancer
I finished 33 Rounds of Radiation treatment in March of this year.
I Pray it will go well for you my friend ❤
I will be totally honest with you
For me they couldn't do high doses of Radiation because my cancer is on left lower lobe and the doctor said it was to close to my heart and Asafragus.
Which you would think
Sence it's left lower lobe it wouldn't be close. But they did a wide range of Radiation from both sides of my lungs all the way to my throat. By week 3 i was feeling the affect's in my throat i had a hard time swallowing drinking water and eating. So i lived on Scrambled eggs and I got the mixed green salad and I chopped it up and put it in with my eggs mixed it all up and I cooked it that way and it was really good in fact today I'm still eating the eggs because my throat from time to time especially in the morning is still little sore I still have a hard time swallowing I'm not putting this out to scare you you .
as cancer patients I believe in my heart we have to stick together learn from each othe.I
wish everybody thought that way.
we're all family and should support each other and encourage each other.

Bless you and I’m so happy you made it through your Chemo and got to ring the bell. Your Mom pointed out that you were born in that area. You had to struggle to get through to be here then and again you were in the same area fighting to be here by doing your Chemo. You fought through both times to the other side. 💙
