- Should you buy a Canon 6d Mark II in 2024? Should you say goodbye to your canon 6d mark 2?
The Canon EOS 6D Mark II is canon’s updated full-frame DSLR camera, while the canon eos R6 is canon's mirrorless camera. The canon eos 6d has 26.2 MP 36.0 MP for canon 6d mark II and canon 6d mark 2 respectively. The canon eos 6d mark II also offers the ability to record video in 4K resolution at 30 fps, while both cameras offer Full HD resolution video recording at 60 fps. Both cameras are highly versatile in terms of sensor size. The canon 6d Mark II features a canon 6d sensor, which is 36.0 MP with an anti-flicker mode, meanwhile the canon eos R6 features canon eos R sensor with an anti-flicker mode. Both cameras come with canon advanced shooting modes and HDR movie recording for capturing impressive photographs of stills or videos . The canon 6d Mark II has a max burst speed of 7 fps while canon eos R6 offers 20 fps. Lastly, both canon 6d mark II and canon eos r are weather sealed to protect the camera against dust and water to provide photographers with the confidence they need when taking their shots in tough conditions.

I was gonna buy the EOSR and I still want it..
But why I have upgraded from my 5D MKII to the 6D MKII instead of the EOS R is.. the EOS R was a bit more.. and canon had a HUGE sale on the 6D MKII
$880 factory refurbished with 1yr warranty. And while I would love RF glass.. I need to invest into some glass that definitely is not in the $2k range.
Tamron has some high quality glass along with Sigma that are at around $1000 and under for some real solid glass.. which is where I gotta be for awhile. The cheapest lens I'll be picking up will be the canon 85mm 1.8 for $270

I’m currently looking to buy my first full frame..upgrading from canon T5i... cant decide b/w the 6D Mark ii or Nikon D780... the 780 has double the battery life, double the shutter speed, dual memory card slots and so on... it seems to be a much better all around camera right now... but I keep getting pulled back to Canon.. my primary usage is landscape, portrait and some sports mixed in. Any advice??

The R will set you up for success. Others are capable, but not as good in low light, and don’t have an evf. Where do you buy gear from?

You’ll love the EOSR, and I’d choose the R6 over the R6ii based on low light performance.

Dude I'm really wishing to buy it, but I've been constantly warned about the af system. That the crumbled points on the middle can underrate any portraits so taken, dude please share your impression about the af point on the view finder of the 6d mark ii.

Just Looooove the shutter sound and feel on the 6D2, Ooooh... EOSR, RP, EOSM sounds bland in comparison. Will NEVER sell mine
I’m about to upgrade to a 6D2 from my t3i, buying it refurbished through canon for $1,100-ish, and I’m so so so excited. I can finally shoot in the night, I have full frame, my PC is down so no Lightroom on there so I can send photos over WiFi and edit on Lightroom mobile, not ideal but better than nothing!
You will need better lenses to take advantage of FF :). THey are bigger & more expensive.
@@vpr5562 Yup :) I recently picked up a 35mm F2 and a used 24-105 F4L! 6D2, battery grip, and both of those lenses... so heavy.

Trust me, you will love it! Ive got it for 450$ and its so joy to use, close focus, sharp, nice color, mmmmmm. If you can afford it, no brainer.

I might buy the Canon 6D Mark 2 later down the line. It has on SD card slot which is not a big deal but it has no headphone jack which is odd. the canon 80D has a headphone jack and its cheaper so I am going to buy that instead. Luckily both camera's use the same battery.
The headphone jack was definitely a trade off when I upgraded from the 80d, but I got used to monitoring the audio on screen. I’m happy to have the headphone jack back in the R though.

@@markmorinii I am going to get the Canon 80D first as I already own the Nikon D5500 which is small yet packs a punch. Going to purchase the Nikon D5600 also along with the Canon 80D and Nikon D750 or the Nikon D760 that's going to be out next year. Have batteries for both the Canon 80D and Nikon D750, plus the Nikon D750 has a headphone jack and two SD card slots which are the same, Even though it's Full frame it's a bit out off date but with a small bunch off full frame lenses it's gonna be fun to use plus it's gone down in price. Going to purchase the Sigma 24-105 in both Nikon and Canon mounts. Have a four year plan.

I really, really love it. It gets even better as they update the firmware. Silent shutter high speed burst with eye detection was a nice addition, as well as eye detection for video. 👌👌🤙

Hi, I currently own an 80D. I'm considering buying a 6D Mark2. Would you say in retrospect that the 6D2 was worth the extra charge for the 80D?
+Sven to me, yes... but paying clients made it an easy business decision.
Not over 80D...instead buy some fast lenses and put it over 80D. Save for 90D or Eos R instead.
@@nikhilchandra9258 The 90D is so overloaded with compromises from Canon to "protect" their Cinema cameras, then the change makes no sense.
Buy more EF lenses if the RF Mount will prevail in the future is not a good idea.
The change to full-size mirrorless will come, but Canon is still not as set up as I would like.
I also use the 80D for filming and in 2-3 years I want to switch to 4k (Full Sensor Readout without Crop).

No way. Canon is patenting already a lot of mirror less innovations. Actually is switching late to this new technology comparing with its competitors. There won't be mark 3. Even there are no many changes between mark I and ii.

@@redpill2206 dslr is digital single lens reflex camera and slr is the same thing, but not digital. So, analog. Like a film camera. On both you can switch out the lenses instead if having a fixed lens.

I disagree with the eos r being bad on battery life. I think your settings might have contributed to that. The gps being on all the time on the 6d mkii was more of a draw from my experience.

Well I don’t know how eBay was back in 2005 but now a days I’m pretty sure it’s geared more towards the buyer with all the protection they offer.
Probably saved about $6-7K dollars on used eBay photography equipment. Never burned once. Just gotta know how to bid and who to buy from.
