    I was in the position of getting a 6DII, RP or R moving from an 80D a couple of months ago. My gf and I work together and she owns a 5DIV so the dynamic range of the 80D was very noticeable. I ended up going with the R and I got 0 complains of that camera. In the case you are in this position as well go for the R (same as a 5DIV) and it isn't that much more expensive than the 6DII on sales. Mind you I did had to get an EF-RF mount adapter but overall very satisfied with the camera.

    • @PhotoDardha
      @PhotoDardha  Год назад +2

      Actually you have a great point, i don't know how i forgot about the R
      It literally has a 5DIV sensor in a smaller body, though myself i'd maaaybe get the 5D instead anyway, it feels snappier

    • @mrsuperselenio5694
      @mrsuperselenio5694 Год назад +2

      @@PhotoDardha That was one of the reasons why I went with the R and not the 6DII, the other one being the AF points which are 5655 (I can press anywhere on the screen and it effing focus!!!) I hated the 45 AF points all in the center, not to mention the AF and eye tracking upgrade is slightly faster.
      I got one on sale for a little over 1k euros on black Friday + 120€ for the EF-RF lens adapter. A Full Battery so far gets me about 1.2-1.5k pictures outside and about 2k-2.3k at the studio, I was concern about those 370 shots from CIPA test. Also awesome improvement from your 80D video editing to this one, Keep it up!

    • @PhotoDardha

      Finally got my Mk II about a month ago. Couldn't be happier with it; I'm nowhere near a pro but an avid hobbyist. One interesting though, is that I have found I still need to get a better handle on the AF. It's quite a bit more demanding than I've found to be the case on my 7D Mk II and my 1DX Mk III. For the record, I don't shoot video at all, only stills.

      @@PhotoDardha I did pick mine up a couple of months ago, and boy, do I love it! TBH, I still need to get a better handle on the AF in this body; seems like it's a bit more exacting (finicky?) than what I find using my 7D Mk II and 1DX Mk III. But it's been a heck of a lot of fun to learn!

    great video for a Totally Viable Camera in 2024. you did a great review on this camera. I agree with your evaluation. I have a 50D, 70d, and the 6d mk2. if I need 4K video I have a Drone, and a Gopro. the main point is: camera people will always want to buy new and exciting, but at some point, we need to USE THE EQUIPMENT that you already own. the 6D mk 2 is awesome.

I also have a Canon 6D mark 2 , Canon 7D (38000 shots) and a Sony a6000, I used it very rarely, and since 2019 I haven’t used cameras, so I lost interest... @@PhotoDardha I have both, and in my honest opinion the 6D has exactly three advantages over the 6D Mk. 2: 1. The build quality is slightly higher. Much of it comes due to the display being built into the body. 2. Its shutter is slightly quieter and more "Leica-like". 3. You can exchange the matte screen against another one. That's it. But, honestly: Right now you can buy two used 6D bodies for one used 6D2 body, which is an advantage of its own. Apart from that, the 6D2 clearly is the better camera.

  • @obetmoran
    @obetmoran 9 месяцев назад +3

    It is a "good" camera, but in 2024 it is honestly not worth the ridiculously high price that Canon intends to charge for it, there are many options on the market that are a perfect balance between quality and price, in my opinion, the body should not exceed 700usd... It is a product that is already on its way to becoming obsolete.

    • @PhotoDardha
      @PhotoDardha  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, it's only worthy of purchase if you get it used
      Otherwise nope

    • @FrankKemperMuc

      It is too expensive when bought new. In Germany you can get a new Canon R6 Mk. 2 for about 200 Euro more. But if you shoot Canon and do not want to go mirrorless, the 6D Mk. 2 is one of its kind, because it is the only full frame DSLR with decent tilt and swivel screen which Canon will ever make;-) I got mine used for 700 Euro from a dealer with three batteries and one year of warranty. I had (and still have) a 6D before, and I am very pleased that Canon ironed out each and every single shortcoming of the 6D. Just an example: The 6D has a GPS receiver built in which is fairly accurate, but needs rather long to find a fix. And once it is set up, it runs forever - and drains your battery, even if the camera is switched off. The 6D2 has a GPS receiver which gets a fix much faster - and you can choose a mode where switching the camera off and on also switches the GPS off and on.

    This guy is wrong. He says that this camera is less noisy than 5D4 or Sony A7R3, but he is wrong. Noise should be compared at a resolution reduced to the smallest among the compared cameras and dpreview has such an option, it is strange that he did not use it. What is the point of criticizing the A7R3 for more noise when examining details at a scale that Canon cannot give ? With methodology like this, we can come to the conclusion that 5dsr is noisier than the Canon 300d from 2003. In the picture reduced to 26 megapixels, Sony is much better, and Canon 6D2 shows the worst picture among its generation.... And you seriously showed jpegs ? Really ?
    And the dynamic range is really bad. I can only be happy for this guy that he has such an undemanding job (which is true for most commercial work or all sorts of weddings/photo shoots), but for example, stock inspectors really don't like noise in the shadows. And it just so happens that I really love backlighting and contrasting scenes. So with a Canon with very similar DR perfomance, sometimes, after all processing I had to downsize my pictures to 6 megapixels to hide this noise, so that the inspectors wouldn't get angry. You can't fool an inspector with noise reduction - they don't like that even more.
    Don't praise something based on your standards and requirements. The speed of the Lada is enough for me, but I don't tell people that Lada is a fast car.
    It is important to understand that this Canon, like many similar ones, is not about image quality at all. This was not the company's priority, this is not what people love this camera for. They love this camera for its convenience and simplicity. Live view, full-featured touchscreen, hinged display, neat design. Canon always feels familiar and friendly, while Nikon may have some nuances and feel a little rougher. And Sony cameras of that generation feel like rectangles with buttons, not like instruments. But in terms of raw image quality, Nikon or any full frame camera of that (or even the previous one) generation with a Sony sensor will tear this Canon apart.

    It’s not a good camera, i shot with it for 3 years, the auto focusing system of the camera is ultra slow, your better off using one shot. The low light at high iso is super ultra noisy. Save your money and go mirrorless. I switched from a 6dmkii to a r6 mkii and it’s a world of a difference, DSLR is old n outdated.

      There’s a huge price difference between the two models. The R6mkii is a professional camera with the latest tech. The 6Dmkii is a semi enthusiast camera made to a budget. I use a 6D original and still find it very good even after ten years. It just depends on what you want to photograph.

    • @PhotoDardha
      @PhotoDardha  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes true there is a big difference but the 6D isn't as this comment says, ofc the R6ii will blow it out of the water but i'd say for most people and even certain professionals who don't need the fast AF/burst/4K would be fine with it
      And yes just as you said, it all depends why you need the camera
