    I have both the 6D Mark II and RP. I love both and use them equally. The 6D is used more for macro photography while the RP is for casual street photography. I do occasionally will swap and just take the 6D out with an EF 40mm pancake lens for casual street photography. That said, I prefer to shoot with the 6D over the RP because I have large hands. I prefer the normal VF on the 6D over the EVF of the RP. Great video on the Pro's and Cons of the 6D mk II. I will have to agree with you on all fronts.

    For me the biggest plus of the 6Dii is its form factor and weight. If you want a full frame camera for travel it is the best choice. On paper there might not be a big difference to the 5D iv (which I have and love, too), but in reality there is, if you are carrying your camera the whole day. I have two of them, and they have never let me down (till now). Soon I will buy a third one and just shelf it because it is the last one of its kind.

      A big thing for me is the size of a camera and as far as full frame cameras go this one is reasonably sized. I also agree that the form factor is pretty awesome too. Love how this camera feels in the hands.

    A flip out LCD is mandatory for me on any camera now and I exploited its full value from the minute I got my hands on a Canon 60D years ago. I shot the eclipse this spring and stood in my driveway with my 6DMk2 on a Slik 700DX for 4 hours using the flip out screen to frame images at intervals of 10 to 15 minutes. No more angle finders and the like.

  • @TsvetanVR

    It's a bit of a bummer that they decided to do without a second card slot, headphone jack and the joystick, especially considering my 7d2 has all of those, more and better spread AF points and a bonus flash. Prior to getting my 7D Mark II a couple of months ago, I had never used a joystick and never knew I needed one. Now I can't live without it. I do miss the articulated screen from my 60D.
    The 6D Mark II is still a cool camera but I just can't justify its pricing on the used market today, compared to brand new mirrorless FF bodies. I tend to see them around 700 euros used here and I'd rather just outright buy a Z5 at that point or finance something else. The 7d2, on the other hand, is a ridiculously good bargain at 250-300 Euros.

    • @JakeBorowski15
      @JakeBorowski15  Год назад +1

      Yeah I agree that when comparing the 6dm2 to new mirrorless FF options that the latter is the better option. Also, I really do wish the 6dm2 had a few more features to make it just a slightly better FF camera. I think the joystick would have definitely been a big selling point along with a better layout of AF points.

    One more + to 6d m2 this is a battery life. Use this camera more than 5 years. Love it. RF EVF cameras do not inspire. A big disappointment from the fact that Canon threw away OVF cameras

    • @JakeBorowski15
      @JakeBorowski15  4 месяца назад

      Yes I agree the battery life is really good but I do think EVFs are much better. I just like the fact that I can see my actual exposure within the viewfinder rather than the LCD screen. I know you have your meter in OVFs but I think EVFs just give a more accurate reading

    Great Video. I bought the 6D mk2 in 2021. I knew the pros and cons. I have a question: should I sell my 70d and all my ef-s lenses (for 15% of the original value) to buy a lens for the 6d mk2, or keep the 70d and all ($$$$$$$) my ef-s lenses and be happy? just wanted an opinion. It's funny you're bringing this up because I was just about to sell all of my Canon 6D Mark II gear. Lenses, the camera and anything else related to that camera and just buy a Canon 80D. Honestly though I don't think the hassle is worth it for me. So in my situation I'm just gonna suck it up and keep using my 6DM2. I don't want to just tell you one thing or another but hopefully my similar predicament helps you get some clarity.

    For sports photography + night better choose 7d ii or 6d ii?

    • @JakeBorowski15
      @JakeBorowski15  10 месяцев назад

      I've never used the 7D Mark II but I have heard it's a good camera, but personally I'd pick the 6D Mark II. The ISO range is better, but the FPS is a little slower. The 7D Mark II can do 10 fps but the 6D Mark II can only do 6.5 but that shouldn't be an issue if you know how to capture the action.

    • @JakeBorowski15
      @JakeBorowski15  10 месяцев назад

      @@JhonnyyPhantom if you're going purely off of megapixel count then the 6D Mark II has a better image quality, but there's a lot more that goes into image quality than megapixel count such as the lens you use, lighting conditions, ISO performance and much more. So again it's tough to give a straight answer to this question because there's so many factors but I'm sure you can't go wrong with either one. It's all about learning how to work with what you got.

    Is the dynamic range better than the Canon T6? I only ask because you mentioned something that surprised me (thank you for that info!) And that's that a cheaper camera has better dynamic range. I tend to crop a lot of but I think this camera could handle the little amount of cropping I do

    • @JakeBorowski15
      @JakeBorowski15  10 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, the dynamic range on the 6DM2 is better than that of the Canon T6. The difference between the two is almost negligible, but again it is a little better. Hope this helps!

      @JakeBorowski15  7 месяцев назад +1

      Oh yeah it'd be fine for that. There's obviously a lot of other factors to consider but I just recently shot an interview on this camera and it turned out fine. I made sure I had good exposure and white balance and it came out great. I did do very light color grading on it but nothing crazy. Honestly with this camera you wouldn't want to go crazy on the color grading anyways. So my setup for it was the 6DM2 with a Sigma 24-70 f2.8. I didn't use any lights other than what was available there, which was all natural. Then for audio I had a Boya BY-MM1 connected to the camera and a Zoom H1N with a Rode Lav for secondary audio. I know this was probably overkill on what you were looking for but hopefully it helps!

    Looking at this in October 23.
    If I had the funds, would be going Canon RF, but retiring from work, and Canon's closed, though maybe opening system, makes the L RF glass and Sigma EF Art primes that I have just too expensive.
    Have a 6D and remain happy with it, though with the advances in AF, it is a little dated.
    So it seems is the 6D Mk 2 ! To overcome the IAF shortcomings of my excellent 6D, will probably keep it, as know the easy to navigate menu system pretty well and have some favourite combos saved as custom settings, purchased a mint a6400 + several Sigma primes, the one I use the most being the excellent 56 1,4- problem solved.
    Yes, it's a pity the Mk 2 doesn't have a joystick, however I have used bodies with and without joysticks for some time and can live with one.
    Same applies for video. Basically, I don 't shoot video- period.
    The main attraction, certainly now that excellent condition bodies are available at much reduced prices, is the touch screen. Should assist with the otherwise disappointing, not ""neutral"" mark down.
    Am not a pixel peeper, so issues involving dynamic range are not a problem to me.
    Perhaps, above all else is the fact that I have invested , quite heavily, in top quality Canon L series zooms, several primes and some Sigma Art EF primes. There is no way I could repeat this glass quality in mirrorless, even if Canon opens up the RF system.
    Will probably, retain my 6D and keep , say, the L 70--200 2,8 permanently attached, as I don't shoot long , as often as I shoot wide.
    Yes, if I had the money, would go Canon mirrorless, but am not a pixel peeper, no longer shoot sport, and the M2 burst rate and all round skills is all I need.

      Yeah I'm noticing a lot of people are sort of hard-core fans of the Canon 6DM2 and don't really care too much for the Canon R system. Personally, I like the idea of having a Canon R camera for professional work, but if I was just shooting fun stuff for myself then I'd probably opt for a smaller kit and I don't really care too much for Canon cameras when it comes to size. I find they are still too big and bulky. Sony cameras on the other hand have a much smaller footprint and I could see myself easily carrying around an APS-C camera all day long in something like a day pack.

      @@JakeBorowski15 - for someone wanting to gain followers / subscribers and market your clothing... calling people "butt hurt" repeatedly when they make comments that may offend you Jake really ain't so cool. And yes, your prior video did imply (title, intro, etc.) that you did not like the camera. I'm not defending the 6DM2, which I do have and use daily, but man you could be bit more forgiving and self-reflecting upon how you come across. There are some of us that have never or very rarely used their camera for video, so many of these aspects do not apply. Interesting the biggest complaint I have about the 6DMII is that inability to have faster shutter speed than 1/4000 seconds, and yes also the DR is a second negative, and I do yes wish the AF system was better... but overall this camera was damn good for its time, and here it is over half a decade later, and it is still taking great photos. My dream world, Canon would have released a 6DMIII that improved upon this great body and system... but alas the Mirrorless marketing world overcame reality. BTW, I've the 6DMI, 70D, and 50D, so lol I'm invested quite a bit into the Canon world, and love their menu system and ergonomics, along with what you stated about their color science... and damn their lens are beautiful.
