I torqued my bolts to 18 foot pounds and broke the first one off before i got a click, tested it out and did some research and I think you meant to say 18 inch pounds. Thanks👍

I've unhooked all of that stuff on my truck 3 or 4 times...now it's time to do it again so I can replace the intake. Good times....good....times. 😮‍💨

Great video and explanation of the steps. Not sure I would've tackled this job without a few tips I learned in this video and a couple others. It took me a lot longer but I replaced the valve cover gaskets, plugs, coil packs, and a couple other items that broke or looked bad. Been over 1k miles now and no leaks/misfires. Thank you for the assist.

Great job showing how to torque the intake bolts down. I’ve watch a bunch of other RUclips videos and nobody has shown the torque of the bolts. Thank you

Do you have the part numbers for the hoses and vacuum lines that you replaced? I looked on the website and really could not find what I was looking for.

Is this a 2000 or later model? People are saying there's no aftermarket intake manifold for the 98' 5.4. I have a running lean code and the weird common coolant leak. Do I have to replace the oem lower manifold? Or can I get away with just gaskets?

I changed my intake and several vaccum lines, put in new coolant...started the truck and took it for a drive. It now runs WORSE than it did before, I replaced injectors as well, I had -15 fuel trims and now they are +10...I have changed plugs, coils, EVAP solenoid, EGR valve, IAC valve, cats, and probably a couple other things that I can't remember. I'm about to just scrap the damn truck. ANY IDEAS?!?

What was the reason you needed to replace the intake manifold assembly

I prefer to lay the Ignition coils and bolt the fuel rail on after everything is in place before starting the throttle body, I have big ass useless hands. Let me know if there is any reason not to but I’ve found it significantly easier. I’ve done this three times now as I rolled a gasket the first time and the second time I had another leak and pulled the bottom gasket to replace as the top was clean and pretty but the bottom was ass.

Complete stupidness to make an intake out of plastic... designed to fail so you have to take it to a dealer to get repaired!

Thank you for the detailed video. I only needed to see the routing of the coolant line, off the back of the water pump. I was going to just run a rubber hose through there, but now I think I’ll just take off the intake and replace that whole coolant line.

Very good video, you did an awesome professional job. Very detailed. One question, where my fuel lines disconnect it looks different than yours. Mine is a 2003 f 150 5.4 2 valve. Everything else looks the same.

Just had mine replaced and now it’s misfiring pretty bad in multiple cylinders and it’s not the coils. Any idea on what it could be?

Use a motorcraft intake, not the dormans on this job.

How it going , Very good content ,
I have a 1999 Ford F150 with a 4.6 Engine , The pipe on the right side for the heater is leaking on the Intake , Do I have to remove all the gas lines Or can I just unplug the The wires and they will come off with the intake ??? I'm debating to do this job or just let somebody knows what they're doing do it for me , The shops today are out rageous on their price

So, there is only one coolant line going to the throttle body? The one on the opposite side (which I thought would have been the outlet), goes to the PCV valve?

That long bolt in the EGR valve is fun to get off of there...😂 I changed my EGR valve a couple of weeks ago.
