You are a very good teacher and not everyone is blessed to say they can teach, but it's just a gift you've been given. And I love the way you make mistakes and you say it was a mistake and then you tell us how to fix the mistake and just go into every little detail just like what we'll encounter when we do it ourselves. I find inspiration in watching you cooking videos because all of us get into a rut with cooking sometimes. And you have many recipes of things I grew up eating, my mother always had a garden and I didn't appreciate that as a child. Bless you because your a lovely person.

Hi bina2one, thanks for the comment. I usually put the butter down first and then sprinkle spices, sugar, etc. over the dough then roll up. Why I did the sugar and spices/zest in the wrong order I really don't know except I was really trying to hurry. Usually with the orange zest I first clarify the butter and add the zest and let it cool but I figured that would take too long. So that got me off my game a little. I wondered about that...as I was watching I thought "I would have put the butter down first then the sugar then the orange rind" and sure enough I was right! I’m watching this January 2021. I’ve been baking bread for 35 years. In all that time I never thought to use a heating pad to rest my rolls on while they rise. Genius!

Thank You for showing how to make 3 different buns with one easy recipe. I love using refrigerator dough, I can make it at night and then bake cinnamon rolls in the morning with no fuss. I've never heard of an orange roll before, but I just love orange rind in my baking and cooking so I know these will be delicious! I'd love to share a quick tip with everyone...after you roll out the dough take a spatula and spread the softened butter on top first.... then when you sprinkle the sugar etc it sticks nicely and you don't need to get butter all over your fingers. To save a bit of time you can just mix the sugar and cinnamon into the dish of melted butter, then spread the mixture on top of the dough all in one step. I really enjoy listening to your voice, you remind me of my dear auntie who taught me to make buns at Easter when I was just a little girl, she's in heaven now so watching you cook is a real treat. Keeps cooking and spreading joy. 🌻
Hi Phyllis. I tried these orange rolls and the cinnamon rolls today. I cut the dough in half for each of them. I made the cinnamon rolls first so while they were baking I was rolling out the orange rolls. The zest smelled so good that I couldn't smell the cinnamon rolls baking darker than I like. My nose could only smell orange. They both tasted wonderful. Thank you so much for that wonderful recipe.

These were excellent! The orange rolls were my favorite. This is a beautiful dough. This makes a heavy crescent roll, not flaky but delicious none the less. I found two crescents in the freezer that were a couple of months old and they were just like yesterday. Freezes perfect..

I really miss this woman. Watching her do this cracked me up. My mom always put melted butter on the dough, then sprinkled the sugar and cinnamon over the top of the butter. THEN she added chopped walnuts. I LOVED those. I miss those.

I love your recipes, especially the ones from the '50's (I'm from the '50's also!). I have a suggestion for the orange rolls though. I think I would spread the soft butter on first, then sprinkle on the sugar and orange zest, it would help hold the sugar and orange zest in place better. I look forward to seeing your next video.
I just watched this video tonight and I am really inspired to try all three kinds. I do a lot of baking and have since I was a girl but always thought yeast rolls would be too hard. Phyllis, the rolls look delicious and I am eager to try them! I especially LOVE Orange Rolls. I agree you have a very soothing sound to your voice and I could go to sleep listening I get sooo relaxed which with my chronic pain is hard to do!! I also wanted to comment on your video about boiling eggs...I have never been able to peel eggs without making a mess of the white. Today I followed your advice and I was amazed that I boiled 6 eggs and everyone of them slipped right out of the shell slick as a whistle....thank you sooo much for your careful distinct instructions without giving advice that is just common sense such as “make sure your hands are impeccably clean” and they get so excited and carry on so about how excited they are to eat what they are cooking and when they taste it they make these smacking noises. This one particular one, I rarely see her face and when I do she is preening and making sure her lip gloss is as shiny as she can get it lol. I do love a lot of her food but sometimes her silly comments makes me want to move on to something else!! Thanks for keeping it real!!

These were excellent! The orange rolls were my favorite. This is a beautiful dough. This makes a heavy crescent roll, not flaky but delicious none the less. I found two crescents in the freezer that were a couple of months old and they were just like yesterday. Freezes perfect..
Haven't made them yet but will during the holidays...

I've recently discovered your videos, and I love them. I find it easier to put the orange zest in the sugar and mingle the oils with the sugar. The orange rolls were fantastic. Thank you!

On your plastic wrap there are tabs on the ends of the box, push them in and it will make it easier for you. Love watching your videos, this is the second time I've watched the rolls, going to try them, they look marvelous! Much love and prayers dear! God bless you
I really miss this woman. Watching her do this cracked me up. My mom always put melted butter on the dough, then sprinkled the sugar and cinnamon over the top of the butter. THEN she added chopped walnuts. I LOVED those. I miss those.

My husband pays a fortune for cinnamon rolls at the shopping mall. I am going to try making these and see if he becomes impressed with me. I think I'll roll in some soaked raisins. Glad to know these can be frozen because the recipe sure makes a lot.
Try soaking the raisins in rum. Drain then use them

I love your recipes, especially the ones from the '50's (I'm from the '50's also!). I have a suggestion for the orange rolls though. I think I would spread the soft butter on first, then sprinkle on the sugar and orange zest, it would help hold the sugar and orange zest in place better. I look forward to seeing your next video.
I just watched this video tonight and I am really inspired to try all three kinds. I do a lot of baking and have since I was a girl but always thought yeast rolls would be too hard. Phyllis, the rolls look delicious and I am eager to try them! I especially LOVE Orange Rolls. I agree you have a very soothing sound to your voice and I could go to sleep listening I get sooo relaxed which with my chronic pain is hard to do!!
I also wanted to comment on your video about boiling eggs...I have never been able to peel eggs without making a mess of the white. Today I followed your advice and I was amazed that I boiled 6 eggs and everyone of them slipped right out of the shell slick as a whistle....thank you sooo much for your careful distinct instructions without giving advice that is just common sense such as “make sure your hands are impeccably clean” and they get so excited and carry on so about how excited they are to eat what they are cooking and when they taste it they make these smacking noises. This one particular one, I rarely see her face and when I do she is preening and making sure her lip gloss is as shiny as she can get it lol. I do love a lot of her food but sometimes her silly comments makes me want to move on to something else!!
