- One Hour One Rise Cinnamon Rolls
Oven Proofing Box
FIRST THING YOU DO is preheat your oven to 150. When timer goes off turn oven off. Continue making the dough.
• 1 cup milk
• 1/4 cup butter
• 31/4-31/2 cups flour
• 1 pkg instant yeast
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 egg
Filling
• 1 cup brown sugar, pack it!!
• 2 1/4t cinnamon
• 1/2 cup butter, soft
Glaze
• 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
• 2 tbsp butter, melted
• 1/2 tsp vanilla
• 1-2 tbsp milk
Place milk and butter in a glass measuring cup and microwave for 1 minute. Butter might not be totally melted but thats alright, it will continue to melt from the heat of the milk. Set aside. In a large bowl mix together 2 cups flour, yeast, sugar and salt. When milk mixture has cooled a bit (but should still be warm) add it to the flour mixture, along with the egg. Using the paddle attachment, mix until combined. Switch to the dough hook and add remaining flour. The amount will vary a bit, start with an additional cup and up to a total of 3 1/2 cups. Dough will leave the sides of the bowl. DO NOT ADD TOO MUCH FLOUR!! Continue mixing with the dough hook for 6 minutes. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and let rest for about 10 minutes.
Filling:
While the dough is resting, make the filling. Combine the brown sugar, softened butter and cinnamon in a bowl and mix until everything is combined well.
You can warm it in microwave for 10 seconds to help spread smoothly.
Roll rested dough into a rectangle that is about 12 inches by 14 inches. Spread filling mixture over the surface of the dough and roll up from the longer side of the dough. Cut into 12 equal rolls, I like to cut the dough roll in half, then each half in half and then finally 3 slices from each quarter. Place rolls into a greased 9x13 pan or two cake pans. Place into Proofing box oven. should be slightly warm. Cover top of buns with a towel. See top of recipe for proofing box oven! Very important!! Secret to entire recipe!!! When fully risen (30 -40 min) Take out of oven. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake risen rolls for 15-20 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Combine all of the glaze ingredients into a bowl and whisk until combined. Pour over lightly warm rolls.

Another tip with cinnamon buns is don’t over mix or mess with it too much. A soft, sticky dough that isn’t over mixed makes the fluffiest buns. They’re very delicate.

Hi Darlene, these cinnamon rolls look so nice, and I bet your kitchen smelt wonderful as you were making them. I never thought to use my oven to place bread, cinnamon buns etc for the hour so they rise. The last time I made bread I placed heat packs around my bowl and then covered it with a towel, and to my surprise it worked really well.

How do you keep them soft for the next days ?
Honestly. I made these last Monday. I wrapped the 2nd pan in two sheets of Saran wrap tightly. We ate them this morning and they were still soft and yummy. You can put on a plate in microwave for 10 seconds if you like. Frosting may melt a bit. But they were still great today. But always best first or second day. I bake them in advance and wrap and freeze. Come to room temp on counter. Throw in oven wrapped in Foil for 10 min. Then frost.
Since watching your video like 2 weeks ago, I made like 8 batches of these already as my family and friends and coworkers loved them! Two more baking in the oven right now. Thank you so so much!!!

I made these and will do over and over. Iv always used the basic bread recipe you can make heaps out of but I make hot cross buns similarly to this with an enriched dough. They turned out amazing. Also I mixed the filling in not did seperately like I usually do. Also like sultanas lol but thank you so much for this recipe 💜

In the process of proofing by wood stove. I don't have an oven so will be baking on top rack on BBQ.(I've gotten good at temperature control on bbq).Can't wait to try them. I made a double batch to give a batch to my friend who provided fresh chicken eggs.

@Souperat60 OMG so delicious. My friends showed up just as I was putting them on bbq. They were able to have them fresh off the grill and then take some home. (I always made them with the biscuit dough because it's so quick but after eating these I can spare the hour it takes here on out.)

@@theresarobles3644 just till the beeper goes off and it’s reached 150. Open door just a little to cool slightly. You should be able to touch the racks with your hand.

Oh no you don't.., why do people always have to ruin a good thing by adding something that doesn't belong?
For some reason the buns are not fully cooking in the center. I've baked the buns 3 times already leaving them in the oven a little longer and at a slight higher heat.

@@theresarobles3644 I would not change the heat. The outsides will brown leaving the insides uncooked. If you want to put them back in the oven I’d lower the temp back to the recipe and put foil over them till baked. I’ve never had that issue. I’m so sorry. These are one of my top fan favorites. Hi , these look so good! I'm going to attempt to make them, I have made a few different recipes but always have a problem with the brown sugar/butter cinnamon filling seeping out the bottom of the buns and sugar burning even though I roll them nice and tight and only using 1 tablespoon of butter and 1/4 cup brown sugar and cook on 350. I was wondering if you can help me, and if you at all have had this problem with the amount of butter brown sugar ratio used?
Oh no. These are so incredible. Sooo many ppl have made them and love them. I’ve never heard of that problem. Maybe your filling was either too much or runny ?? Not sure. Just talking about this recipe makes me want to make them. They’re so easy😀. Lord bless Kristine.

I can't believe how the bun came out so light and airy! I would make this dough recipe again as dinner rolls. As for the the cinnamon roll, next time I make it I will either cut the dough in half and make two batches of cinnamon rolls or make one half into dinner rolls. They came out way too big for me making into 12. I know you said this makes huge ones, but I should have made them smaller and made 24! Live and learn I guess. I might even cut the recipe in half next time, I will just have to divide the egg in half, I've done that before with no problems :) Also, I didn't make them as tight as I usually do and the middles popped up when baking. I'll try to make them tighter next time and see how it goes. I'll send pics to your email :) @@Souperat60

How do you prevent the buns, from burning on the bottom?
Hmm. They never have. Make sure the oven is at the correct temperature. Usually some of the filling will fall around the bottom. It’s never burnt. Did they for you??
Can we use tht tik tok cinnamon roll hack with cream and cinnamon sugar sauce you pour over and then bake it ?

Why do people not use walnuts and raisins anymore
Oh my…I very often put raisins in these. I also add cranberries and orange rind with an orange icing in the fall and winter. There’s so much fun to have. My son loves them either way tiny choc chips.
It would be awesome if you moved your speaker/mic... all the banging and clinking of the fork on the measuring cup is very disruptive!
Preheat oven to 150 does that mean 300F ??
For proofing your dough quickly your oven will need to be 150 should not be too hot. Then after they have risen turn oven to 350 and bake.
