i absolutely love how sevika and caitlyn are legit parallel representations for Vi and Jinx , it's like both sisters chose a person that represents the other , Vi went with Caitlyn , another blue haired girl which uses guns (well tehnically a gun but she is still more skilled with guns than fists , just like jinx) and Jinx made friends with Sevika , a woman who just fights with her fists , just like her sister , Vi

I have a other theory about it, i think Jinx kills Catlin and Vi can't stop Jinx and after that, she are frustrated and see her face again and again. Beside Catlin, Vi's clothes are normal, after this "pit fight", she is angry and clothes all in black, maybe she lost some one forever.

@V1l5k I'm referring to the fact that there's alot of implications in a scene like this where a character is hallucinating another character. The way Vi sees Caitlyn in her head gives us strong hints about Vi's mental state and how she views Caitlyn, as well as how she views herself in comparison. It's one of many grounded and interesting touches Arcane is so good at that deepen character perspectives and interpersonal relationships. They did it alot in season 1, too.
The way she always looks perfect and put-together. Aside from that one scream, she’s always softly (almost smugly?) smiling but otherwise emotionless and statuesque. I wonder what that scream is about.

A knowing smile, or maybe smug like you said) even though Vi definitely saw Cait make negative expressions waay more than she saw her happy. The scream I think could be a representation of what Vi thinks Cait is feeling after the death of her mother? Or like a guilt thing. Like in her mind Cait was all happy and smiley until Vi came along, leading to everything that happened, and now she's just a ball of pain and rage with none of the softness that Vi craves but feels she doesn't deserve. It definitely feels more like a biased image or an idea of Caitlyn than Caitlyn herself, kinda like how Jinx hallucinated her a couple times in season 1

I saw a clip of Vi boxing and that's actually what got me watching at first, it was amazingly animated and she actually LOOKS like a boxer. Every story telling and animation choice since I started that first episode has been 👌 I'm looking forward to the next season so badly
Same with the short shadow boxing clip in Imagine Dragon's music video. The form is text book perfect. Really shows their dedication to achieving perfection.
Love how the vocals before she starts losing sound eerily similar to those in Jinx's theme, while those after reflect her own nature, much more raw and wild. It really sells the idea of Vi being on the edge of her sanity. Plus her color pallet has shifted to a whole lot more black (her hair losing it's dye, wearing a black jacket, the eye shadows, etc), highlighting that she's entered into a dark period in her story.

And people are worried about the number of songs turning it into a musical? That was a brilliant scene. The music 100% worked & felt completely unintrusive, just like all through season 1. I didn't even notice it was an album song until halfway through.
it's only a musical if the characters themselves sing, in my opinion. They do however mess with it being somewhat diegetic at times at least in season 1
Watching this slowed down is gut wrenching and incredible at the same time. You can really see how Vi deteriorates both physically and mentally as the clip progresses. There’s so much detail and symbolism packed into this intense few minutes of story. The animators and storytellers did an absolutely phenomenal job. I can’t wait to see this season (but I’m so heartbroken to see Vi like this holy shit 🥲💔)
I love how she starts out clean. Hair isn't too greasy, the few cuts are bandaged, her facepaint is new and clear. Sometimes her face is even cleaned of the paint at the beginning. And then you see her later on and you wonder if she even showers at all. She just dunks her face on the water and piles a new layer of paint over the faded one, no attempt to clean her wounds, bruised all over, hair constantly drenched and too long, roots growing pink because she's not dyeing it. So many details in the blink of an eye and i love Fortiche for it
People have to realize that Vi literally has NO ONE. NOT A *SINGLE* PERSON. All her families dead, she thinks Ekko is dead, her sister turned into a crazy psycho and killed her girlfriends mom, her girlfriend left her cause of said event, literally the only person she had left was Caitlyn and we all know how that turned out. Like out of all the characters, Vi has probably suffered the most. I honestly don't know how she's hasn't turned crazy yet. She was locked in prison since she was a kid and was beaten up by the guards for almost a decade after all her family died. She comes back to the Undercity only to see that Silco, the person who targeted her family in control of the Undercity and the last drop, which was her home, and has brainwashed her sister, living with him and having her do who knows what for all the time she was gone. Then that same sister committing various atrocities and harming innocent people. And then on top of that, Caitlyn, the last person she has, leaves her cause her crazy sister (who she feels responsible for) killed her mother. Being Vi is literal suffering, and that's an understatement. Vi needs a hug and a moment to just let it all out to someone. She's always cared for others but when she is in need of emotional support, no one is there for her. Edit: BRO RIOT, ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Bro I made this comment before Act 2 and the next thing you know Vi is getting cucked by Caitlyn sleeping with Maddie. You can't make this stuff up, this girl can't catch a break.
I don't play League but I have to say the studio that does this animation is BEYOND. The first season was truly groundbreaking, and this season looks to push even those boundaries. Staggering achievement in the art.

She's strong and yet the writers let her be weak. She breaks down. She's not unstoppable. She's a proper character, not an unflappable sneering super soldier.
VI is quickly becoming my favorite character. The sheer "I don't care how big you are, I will fight you" energy is the stuff I love to see. She must've been born in the Chinese year of the Rooster You know what roosters have in common with honey badgers? They don't care how big you are. They *_will_* fight you.

Oh honey, I don't wanna spoil the surprise but... I'll keep it simple. Anyone who is a champion in League STAYS a champion in League. As in, if they are part of a canon story, they cannot die. If a champion dies, that sets an entirely new precedent for the champion roster on League of Legends. They have undead champions, of course, but none of the characters in Arcane are undead. The undead typically come from Shurima, the Void, The Ruined Isles, and various possessions throughout the world. Basically, any human in League is not dead, nor will they die.

We first saw him in a clip from a few months ago where they revealed Caitlyn's strike team, so he's an enforcer for at least a little bit. What we don't know is if he joins the team with Vi after this clip, or if this is the aftermath of the team and he's just keeping an eye on Vi.

Me too. I wish Act 2 was more centered about Vi's descent to madness - and her awesome pitfights too! The entire second season feels rushed to me. It's feels like two seasons mashed together, and I'm not fond of the constant videoclip-type timeskips
The way this built, and the way it saved those dark little flickers of Jinx for last, is so compelling. Wish Netflix would've just let this speak for itself, though, rather than shoehorning in a little mini promo at the end.
Poor Gustove. He didn't wanna stay with Silco after YEARS of servitude because Jinx was too much of a nutcase for him, he got his lower jaw cut out of his face with a broken food tray by Vi, he then build a reputation as a pit fighter - only to get his jaw 2.0 removed by Vi AGAIN
I don't think his jaw is cut off. Probably is bent in a weird direction permanently so he wears the teeth jaw to hide it. The metal one is clearly removed.
Fortiche have outdone themselves again! this is without a doubt the pinnacle of animation, the number of effects and attention to detail per shot is unreal
An absolutely amazing show, and if you're not watching it "because its a cartoon" then you're just not really into entertainment because its a wonderful deep multi-layered story with incredible depth and heart.
I'm LOVING this darker aesthetic for Vi!! It's a damn shame it comes as a result of so much inner turmoil and anguish. Her self-hatred is palpable, and it breaks my heart already....
Please watch season 1 I downloaded it illegally after watching it legaly just so I could watch it when not at my parents place. I've rewatched it like 6 times still noticing new things every time
I’m really excited to see the new set up of vi and jinx, she is clearly at VIs tournaments and is watching and if you look at the scene at 0:51 it is clearly jinx’s hand holding up a bet. As we saw the last time jinx and vi separated I don’t think it was a full on I will never see you again. I think jinx still cares for vi and is going out to seek her but will stay in the shadows as she knows that vi cannot accept her as jinx and she thinks it’s best to keep a distance to stop herself from feeling that deep pain of not being what her sister wants. Maybe this is a scene where jinx decdied to make a bet at a tournament after watching them. Maybe her way of still feeling connected and close to vi but still with that distance to protect her emotions. It’s also incredibly interesting that we now have Vi hallucinating Caitlin and possibly jinx, this is definitely going to be the season where we now go into vi’s mental turmoil with her sister and love of Caitlin. As she cleared can’t get her out of her head but what would that mental turmoil look like for jinx? Hallucinations of them in childhood memories of vi finding jinx after so long and seeing powder just isn’t there anymore, but just the emotional acceptance that her sister is not her little sister anymore but rather a very damaged, dangerous and now new symbol of hope in zaun.
I never watched a show that made me care about every character the way arcane does. With so many movies and shows seemingly forcing their views down your throat. Arcane just tells an amazing story with top notch character development, world building, and visuals. Nothing feels thrown together, every scene tells a story and has a purpose within the main story. I Can't wait until November when we finally see how this emotional roller coaster ends.

I think it’s that Arcane more explores themes and morals rather than selling you them. Notice how Silco, one of the most morally questionable characters in the show isn’t simply portrayed as a villain but rather goes through an arc like any other character. The way Jinx causes his downfall over the course of the last three episodes is so satisfying this show is a masterclass in storytelling I love this show
Pitfighter Vi, my beloved! This made my night. i love how as she does it - it progressively gets worse, like she's losing the steampower to win with all the drunk nights and hangovers. especially towards the end the hallucinations show that this cannot continue. But seriously the caitlyn hallucinations have me tweaking agghhh this is gonna be a heartbreaker - and i love that shit. Also, JINX??? i was not expecting jinx to make her way down there, watch Vi, even raising a card!! Also, one last thing - can we take a moment to appreciate the music? it is just wonderful and very fitting.
Having this level of animation for a multi-episode show like this is beyond impressive. Usually, animation of this quality is reserved for short films that are only 15 minutes max.
God this show is so exquisitely animated. The camera work is so great, especially with the depth of field and focus changes. Really feels like someone is there doing a "lost footage" sort of vibe.

In Season 1, Jinx was going through the pain of losing Vi and hallucinating her. Now Vi is going through that pain and hallucinating Jinx. They weren't kidding when they said this season really is going to be the exact opposite.
I think Jinx is actually there upon further inspection. at 0:49 you can see her hand and at 1:52 Jinx is fully hidden in the crowd and we aren't seeing her from Vi's perspective. The first time we see Jinx in this clip might be a hallucination though.
It's funny to see how Vi and Jinx changed completely, now Vi is the same as Powder in the first one and Jinx is more confident and determined, let's see that Vi is like that because of the cupcake but well it's something curious
Season 2 of Arcane has performed just as well as season 1, a perfect 100% critic score and a 97% audience score, making the case for it as one of the best Netflix series in history, and you could even say it is the best, if that wasn't a subjective criteria.
This reminds me so much of why I loved Cait's character from Fallout 4. The struggle between coping over your past/current actions, constantly battling each and every day for a chance at survival; and wanting to redeem yourself from the trials you endured along the way is nothing short of inspiring. I am REALLY looking forward to what Arcane has in store; even if they continue their series with different champs from their expansive roster.

What does this mean
@V1l5k I'm referring to the fact that there's alot of implications in a scene like this where a character is hallucinating another character.
The way Vi sees Caitlyn in her head gives us strong hints about Vi's mental state and how she views Caitlyn, as well as how she views herself in comparison.
It's one of many grounded and interesting touches Arcane is so good at that deepen character perspectives and interpersonal relationships. They did it alot in season 1, too.

The way she always looks perfect and put-together. Aside from that one scream, she’s always softly (almost smugly?) smiling but otherwise emotionless and statuesque. I wonder what that scream is about.
@KeitieKalopsia Right?? She always has that smile (which I agree looks vaguely peculiar. A knowing smile, or maybe smug like you said) even though Vi definitely saw Cait make negative expressions waay more than she saw her happy.
The scream I think could be a representation of what Vi thinks Cait is feeling after the death of her mother? Or like a guilt thing. Like in her mind Cait was all happy and smiley until Vi came along, leading to everything that happened, and now she's just a ball of pain and rage with none of the softness that Vi craves but feels she doesn't deserve.
It definitely feels more like a biased image or an idea of Caitlyn than Caitlyn herself, kinda like how Jinx hallucinated her a couple times in season 1

Love how the vocals before she starts losing sound eerily similar to those in Jinx's theme, while those after reflect her own nature, much more raw and wild. It really sells the idea of Vi being on the edge of her sanity.
Plus her color pallet has shifted to a whole lot more black (her hair losing it's dye, wearing a black jacket, the eye shadows, etc), highlighting that she's entered into a dark period in her story.
She didn't lose any dye, her hair is naturally pink. All of the characters' "fantasy" hair colors is just their natural looks
both vi and jinx have the same reflexive violent reaction to their misery...the way they both would go to punch/shoot whatever it is that's triggered them....oh I'm SICK

And people are worried about the number of songs turning it into a musical? That was a brilliant scene. The music 100% worked & felt completely unintrusive, just like all through season 1. I didn't even notice it was an album song until halfway through.

Too bad that is the final season.
Watching this slowed down is gut wrenching and incredible at the same time. You can really see how Vi deteriorates both physically and mentally as the clip progresses. There’s so much detail and symbolism packed into this intense few minutes of story. The animators and storytellers did an absolutely phenomenal job. I can’t wait to see this season (but I’m so heartbroken to see Vi like this holy shit 🥲💔)
I love how she starts out clean. Hair isn't too greasy, the few cuts are bandaged, her facepaint is new and clear. Sometimes her face is even cleaned of the paint at the beginning. And then you see her later on and you wonder if she even showers at all. She just dunks her face on the water and piles a new layer of paint over the faded one, no attempt to clean her wounds, bruised all over, hair constantly drenched and too long, roots growing pink because she's not dyeing it. So many details in the blink of an eye and i love Fortiche for it
People have to realize that Vi literally has NO ONE. NOT A *SINGLE* PERSON. All her families dead, she thinks Ekko is dead, her sister turned into a crazy psycho and killed her girlfriends mom, her girlfriend left her cause of said event, literally the only person she had left was Caitlyn and we all know how that turned out.
Like out of all the characters, Vi has probably suffered the most. I honestly don't know how she's hasn't turned crazy yet. She was locked in prison since she was a kid and was beaten up by the guards for almost a decade after all her family died. She comes back to the Undercity only to see that Silco, the person who targeted her family in control of the Undercity and the last drop, which was her home, and has brainwashed her sister, living with him and having her do who knows what for all the time she was gone.
Then that same sister committing various atrocities and harming innocent people. And then on top of that, Caitlyn, the last person she has, leaves her cause her crazy sister (who she feels responsible for) killed her mother.
Being Vi is literal suffering, and that's an understatement. Vi needs a hug and a moment to just let it all out to someone. She's always cared for others but when she is in need of emotional support, no one is there for her.
Edit: BRO RIOT, ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Bro I made this comment before Act 2 and the next thing you know Vi is getting cucked by Caitlyn sleeping with Maddie. You can't make this stuff up, this girl can't catch a break.

I don't play League but I have to say the studio that does this animation is BEYOND. The first season was truly groundbreaking, and this season looks to push even those boundaries. Staggering achievement in the art.

If a champion dies, that sets an entirely new precedent for the champion roster on League of Legends. They have undead champions, of course, but none of the characters in Arcane are undead. The undead typically come from Shurima, the Void, The Ruined Isles, and various possessions throughout the world. Basically, any human in League is not dead, nor will they die.

We first saw him in a clip from a few months ago where they revealed Caitlyn's strike team, so he's an enforcer for at least a little bit. What we don't know is if he joins the team with Vi after this clip, or if this is the aftermath of the team and he's just keeping an eye on Vi.

An absolutely amazing show, and if you're not watching it "because its a cartoon" then you're just not really into entertainment because its a wonderful deep multi-layered story with incredible depth and heart.

I’m really excited to see the new set up of vi and jinx, she is clearly at VIs tournaments and is watching and if you look at the scene at 0:51 it is clearly jinx’s hand holding up a bet. As we saw the last time jinx and vi separated I don’t think it was a full on I will never see you again. I think jinx still cares for vi and is going out to seek her but will stay in the shadows as she knows that vi cannot accept her as jinx and she thinks it’s best to keep a distance to stop herself from feeling that deep pain of not being what her sister wants. Maybe this is a scene where jinx decdied to make a bet at a tournament after watching them. Maybe her way of still feeling connected and close to vi but still with that distance to protect her emotions.
It’s also incredibly interesting that we now have Vi hallucinating Caitlin and possibly jinx, this is definitely going to be the season where we now go into vi’s mental turmoil with her sister and love of Caitlin. As she cleared can’t get her out of her head but what would that mental turmoil look like for jinx? Hallucinations of them in childhood memories of vi finding jinx after so long and seeing powder just isn’t there anymore, but just the emotional acceptance that her sister is not her little sister anymore but rather a very damaged, dangerous and now new symbol of hope in zaun.

I never watched a show that made me care about every character the way arcane does. With so many movies and shows seemingly forcing their views down your throat. Arcane just tells an amazing story with top notch character development, world building, and visuals. Nothing feels thrown together, every scene tells a story and has a purpose within the main story. I Can't wait until November when we finally see how this emotional roller coaster ends.

I think it’s that Arcane more explores themes and morals rather than selling you them. Notice how Silco, one of the most morally questionable characters in the show isn’t simply portrayed as a villain but rather goes through an arc like any other character. The way Jinx causes his downfall over the course of the last three episodes is so satisfying this show is a masterclass in storytelling I love this show
Hands down one of the best animated shows in existence.

Pitfighter Vi, my beloved! This made my night. i love how as she does it - it progressively gets worse, like she's losing the steampower to win with all the drunk nights and hangovers. especially towards the end the hallucinations show that this cannot continue. But seriously the caitlyn hallucinations have me tweaking agghhh this is gonna be a heartbreaker - and i love that shit. Also, JINX??? i was not expecting jinx to make her way down there, watch Vi, even raising a card!! Also, one last thing - can we take a moment to appreciate the music? it is just wonderful and very fitting.
Having this level of animation for a multi-episode show like this is beyond impressive. Usually, animation of this quality is reserved for short films that are only 15 minutes max.

In Season 1, Jinx was going through the pain of losing Vi and hallucinating her. Now Vi is going through that pain and hallucinating Jinx. They weren't kidding when they said this season really is going to be the exact opposite.
Im pretty sure vi is hallucinating Caitlyn and not jinx and that jinx is watching vi for some reason

I think Jinx is actually there upon further inspection. at 0:49 you can see her hand and at 1:52 Jinx is fully hidden in the crowd and we aren't seeing her from Vi's perspective. The first time we see Jinx in this clip might be a hallucination though.

Season 2 of Arcane has performed just as well as season 1, a perfect 100% critic score and a 97% audience score, making the case for it as one of the best Netflix series in history, and you could even say it is the best, if that wasn't a subjective criteria.
This reminds me so much of why I loved Cait's character from Fallout 4.
The struggle between coping over your past/current actions, constantly battling each and every day for a chance at survival; and wanting to redeem yourself from the trials you endured along the way is nothing short of inspiring.
