Dude the choreography behind Vi's holding everyone off is pretty bangin'. That little sequence where she has to dodge the knife, but takes a few blows because of it, yet she still keeps focused on the knife is incredible stuff. I still can't believe it sometimes, how good it is.
Even Silco acknowledges that Vi is a prodigy. He says so in episode 6 that he always thought she was the prize of her family, until he learned about Powder’s mind.
@@isaacgaleao I'm not so sure of that, after the time skip Vi wiped the floor with Sevika the first time (Sevika wasn't trying very hard) and had a harder time the 2nd but still won. Vi was still a kid but Sevika didn't have her mechanical arm.

@@isaacgaleao I wouldn't say Vi lost the first fight, she was holding Sevika up against a wall, then got stabbed because Sevika brought up Jinx. If it was just a straight fight in a vacuum and Vi wasn't after information about Powder she could have k*lled Sevika then and there. I do agree that Vi being locked in prison for 6 years defiantly was a factor in how well she did, but Sevika having her original arm would have also been a disadvantage. I still think Vi would have done a pretty good job fighting Sevika here but might still end up losing.
And the whole future of the underground changed because of this. It ‘causes a real conflict in my mind, thinking about ‘what could’ve been’. But on the other hand, if these tragics would have not happend, we would not have the story... so yeah haha

@brunomhdd not really, she still had a lot of focus. True the other characters got more of it at some points, but this show always was about more than just Vi. It was always about her Jinx, Jayce, Cait, Mel, Viktor, Silco, Heimer, etc.

that wouldve been so cool if Vi had these gauntlets for s2, or atleast augmented the Hex Gauntlets to have part of Vanders old gauntlets onto them. Missed opportunity IMO

I feel this scene embodies what makes Arcane so good: every character understands only so much of what’s going on. Powder sees Vi getting beaten by the Shimmer addict and said addict is beaten on the door trying to get to Vi and the others. At the same time she doesn’t know how close they are to getting out. And if she had only waited a few more seconds, her bomb would not have killed Milo and Claggor. Of course, it doesnt play out like that. Other wise we wouldn’t have the same amazing story we have now.

This scene is what hooked me on the show. Vi is such a badass character. Thought for sure she was about the get the taste slapped out her mouth and then she just destroys Silcos men xD
I love this scene but rewatching it makes me wonder, would Silco really have allowed his goons to kill Vi? After everything they showed in season 2 it feels like based on Silcos relationship with Felicia he would have never stooped that low, especially since he takes in Powder for similar reasons.
He is ruthless and driven towards his one goal, he's a revolutionary. The only reason he eventually got so attached to Jinx and refused to give her up to Piltover is that he had time to raise her and bond with her. At this point the only feelings he has is a desire for revenge against Vander and his dream of Zaun (and a few dead kids are more than an acceptable price towards both those goals).
@@weall1208 Totally agree but it feels like all the talk in season 2 that we saw in Vanders flashbacks between the three of them, with even Felicia mentioning that they cant fail now for the sake of her kids futures, makes me feel like they should have at least shown a little more regret coming from Silco when he gave the green light to his goons to attack Vi. I feel like at least then we could get a glimpse into the human side of Silco having to go to this extent. Definitely still an excellent scene, just a little nitpick I noticed.
That's as simply as that - he wouldn't. The writers just tried to pull off a really cheap trick on adding "new layers" upon already established characters. And they screwed up at that since it's like none of them even consider what's been established in S1 already

Vi actually has several advantages here that even the odds, maybe even tilt them in her favour. 1. Location: The narrow walkway means the goons can't attack all at once for fear of getting in each other's way, limiting their numbers significantly and giving Vi fewer problems to focus on at once. 2. Size: Vi's smaller stature means she's harder to hit and gives her more maneuverability on the walkway. 3. Weaponry: Vander's gauntlets pack a *wallop.* Every goon Vi hits in the head is down and out, while they also increase her defence by letting her grab and block the knives and hammers she's facing. Alternatively, the only weapon Vi had a problem with was the knife because the jabs were harder to evade than the swinging hammers. 4. Positioning: Vi doesn't have to advance on her targets at all. She lets them come to her, giving her a brief moment to catch her breath between bouts. Overall, it's a very well-choreographed and thought-out fight.
Hell of a lot more adrenaline and desperation here. Fighting random mooks is one thing. Fighting for your life and the lives of your friends and family is hella different. Plus having giant metal fists oughta help LMAOOO.
She is a better 1v1 fighter, she is a boxer. You see it a lot in the series, like when she is fighting Sevika, she does better in a tight space like a hallway rather than open room

@@ParagonOlsen the only big guy was knocked out with a good uppercut which, ya that’s reasonable, keep in mind Vi has been trained by Vander, who knows what he’s doing, for years, and Vi had something that the goons don’t, training and skill, keeping her guard up when she can and going for the openings and staying aware of her surroundings, it’s nothing that beyond believable, the show established that’s she’s a bit of prodigy, if Sevika had gotten in then she’d probably would’ve been able to handle her

Even if Vi was Roberto Durán reborn, it's a hopeless scenario. I wouldn't particularly care if the show hadn't already established a relatively realistic approach to its fight scenes, with Vi struggling with Deckard in the first episode. I appreciated this, and was disappointed the show chose to discard its own logic for a "cool" moment.
