"Anyone who's ever been in a firefight knows you can't get close enough to the ground". How painfully obvious yet, I didn't even consider that. What a terrifying thought to find that out the hard way.
During a bounding live fire exercise during my combat training. I learned this quick. Bounding buddy tripped, N.D. and the round hit right next to my head. I never ran mags on my front like everyone else in my shop. Got deployed, went prone for cover if I had mags on my front chest plate I'd be dead now.
@@Jin_Kai Agree. I learned an additional lesson when in the prone position: It's damn uncomfortable (and a bit too sketchy) to be prone and have to reload when you're laying on top of your mags.

Maybe it’s easier for you to have a tourniquet further back and drop pouch closer. You figure out “Why” for yourself, by testing and training. Zero combat experience here, so when SHTF, my set up might prove stupid, but I train with it, so I can reach everything in pitch black. He touches on the one thing I harp to everyone that wants to 'really train'. If you really want to train, you need to be running without kit and then rucking with kit. Not running around for a bit in the woods, playing soldier. I mean rucking 10 - 20km with your loadout, plus a rucksack (minimum 30lbs) over rough terrain. On days you don't ruck, you need to run. Fitness is probably the most important thing to being a warrior. If you can't get to the battlefield, then it doesn't matter how good of a shot you are. "Ya'll know what happens when a carabiner goes in salt water" No, I don't. I'm not a SEAL or a SCUBA diver, so, nope. Thanks for the info I learned something.
To weigh in as an engineer, yes don't use salt exposed carabineers for heavy weight operations because the carabineer has now been exposed to corrosion and is no longer rated properly. Not following that rule means you don't respect basic safety
Salt water accelerates the natural corrosive nature of aluminum. So, if they expose the carabiners to salt water they will break under the heavy weight of the SEAL and his equipment, should they need to connect to a helicopter for a water rescue. The SEAL would connect himself to the sling, from the aircraft, to that carabiner. If the carabiner is corroded. It will break. Another SEAL doesn't go home that night.

To weigh in as an engineer, yes don't use salt exposed carabineers for heavy weight operations because the carabineer has now been exposed to corrosion and is no longer rated properly. Not following that rule means you don't respect basic safety

3nertia they probably have some really "duh/simple" or for their use only kit. But I have this funny image of a bunch of SEALS in adult water wings.
UHMWPE plates.
Most definitely going to try the weapon retaining device. That has always been a problem I've run into when searching EPW's
I’m joining the British army soon I’m getting my basic training start dates next week some time😊✌️
Best of luck on a great career. TR
Tactical Rifleman Thanks :)
Hooyah. Stay safe out there, and thank you for your service. Your arms room is kick-ass!!. Over and out.
The important thing is that you have your "tacticool" patch.
Thankful for the job you have done and sacrifices for this beautiful country. Stay safe brother
I appreciate that
God Bless our troops
Never get tired of watching this video man. Thank you for sharing and for your service to our country sir. You are so right about keeping it slick on the front and light as well. I remember going prone with my rifle years ago in a training class and I learned that lesson the hard way. Never again man. LOL!
Me: likes video because I think it’s informative and I’m interested in joking the military. Also me: notices the dislikes. “Who the phvck is that guy” in my best Conor McGregor voice*
Dude I learned more in this video than I did in 27 yrs in boots. Simple, awesome, thanks.
I bought the same caribiner from clothing sales 10 years ago. Been carrying it ever since.
First video I've ever seen from you guys, and I'm subbed. Great stuff.
THANK YOU & God Bless You Jason Phalin for your service and you have my most sincere gratitude.
Thank You for the freedom you and your comrades have given my family and myself, and for the tour of your gear. Y’all have a great night....
BIG RON.....
Thanks
Likewise bro
ron36105 ron...thank you for the class you have shown in this post. Also my thanks to the presenter as well. God bless you all
Awesome. This is a guy who knows his stuff. Massive respect!!
Thanks for watching. TR.
"The only body armour needed by a seal is his own skin... Sir!"
Solid work. If possible it would be great to see a breakdown of setting up your antenna cable
Wow, I have always wondered what exactly you do with your M4 and or other firearm when climbing etc. Weapon retention, thats an interesting little plate carrier Molly attachment!
Would love to know the name/brand of that retention...
Same here. That would be nifty for storing a rifle on the side of a backpack.
Edit: just found it, or something like it. Vel Tye Magnetic Weapon Retention System
this rig is exactly what Im looking for. Ranger green looks sick with this rig. thanks.
Is that medical pack available on the civilian market? I'd like to know more about it.
fjamato it's basically a kit molded to fit the circumference of a plate carrier, you can diy your own and use a vacuum sealed bag and thin peice of cardboard. I'm not sf dude I'm just a dumbass civilian medical assistant and phlebotomist. Why not rock your diy shit it's the same shit, it's obvious we are not gonna have the high-speed shit medics use. Any rural physician will tell you improvise old school techniques if u don't have the latest and greatest
I'd like to know this as well ...
Look up Phokus
SONS Deployment Trauma Kit II (DTK II) by PHOKUS
You can buy it from Phokus Research Group. www.phokusresearch.com/ Not a huge fan of it personally as noone will know where your ifak is. Your IFAK should be clearly labeled and in plain view. Unless its an SOP in your team/unit, and everyone knows exactly where it is, I wouldnt recommend it.
Just a thank you for what you do for our country!!
SEAL team killin machine...respect.
em Burgess Most military guys don't advertise that they're a 'killing machine'. It's tacky as all hell
I think the ones that advertise are not in the services..
yeah i agree..I think that most, If not all military personals dont brag about being in the service becuase of what they have seen..
Glad we didn't have pogue drill sgnts in basic. They taught us a lot of this stuff. Godspeed brothers.
4:59 "I like to keep it wrapped up, because if I don't the guys are going to put rocks and stuff in here to mess with me."
Jason has had "rocks and stuff [goat turds]" in his drop pouch before.
💩😁
This is way more simplistic than I’ve seen people set up their carriers very cool
“I keep that thang on me”
work ethic like no other these guys ! power on !
I used to nail my brothers tool bag to the floor or wipe sap on his hammer handle... It was funny to me😁
Nice kit! Simple is best ! Thank you and your brothers for the service you provide! God Bless!
What kind of radios do you recommend for the civilian ...and what brand of plates is best for the civilian..
Radios are a whole rabbit hole unto themselves. A good and cheap place to start would be a Baofeng UV-5R.
as for plates you have to consider your personal needs
And weather or not you have an air cooled checkbook. ;)
Harris is better but if you are a civilian you can use Motorola CP200
ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ That's an excellent suggestion. People seem to spend 2K on a weapon without batting an eye, but when comes time to shell out for a transceiver they want yo spend less on it than the average meal dining out.
Great video brother, thanks for your service !!
