I prefer an all mesh dump pouch, sand and water passes right through with no problems. Not a fan of drop leg holsters, they are moving back and forth with your leg when running and if you are trying to draw the pistol it makes it more difficult and takes longer to acquire. It's refreshing to hear someone speak about making practical choices as opposed to the usual brand name, status quo, blindly issued and copied setups. We can all appreciate standards and a common "list of items" to help us remember what to prepare and pack or put on, but often times making do is necessary and individual analysis can result in better gear choices. I dare say, that going light and stripping away pieces of gear or replacing with something lighter or that works better has been a practice going back to WW one and probably earlier. Too often the implication is that one "needs" and "must have" this or that item or a particular brand or they are considered ineffective. Situations and scenarios vary as much as the individual. I recall my father mentioning that in Vietnam, Marines would prefer water to extra ammo. Thanks for sharing and providing a different perspective.

All the weapons we had I would spend all night just admiring them. It was the 80's so we had stuff from WWII from M3 Grease guns to "Other Stuff". I was a kid in a candy store. Hey TR, do you guys ever do classes for CIVIS????
I like Jason's belt. It's definitely not sexy or high speed compared to modern belt setups but he way he explains his reasoning for the types of kit on his belt and the placement of each peice makes me think he actually wore/used his belt during actual combat operations in the GWOT. Like, for as much as I like Karl's and Zee's belts, you can kind of tell neither of those guys actually used their ATS war belts while actively enlisted. Jason's belt looks like it had some mileage on it.
This is a great video. Never thought of zip ties but makes sense. At least for the operation. Have a couple of the coil retention lanyards. Yes you described them perfectly not sexy but work. Keep my leatherman on one on my range bag. My son and I are working on some retro setups. You know retro Mossbergs and 1911’s. There’s an outfit called SARCO here in Pennsylvania carries a lot of they stuff. Got 1911 mags mag pouches holsters scabbards lanyards and even semiauto belt fed 1919’s and M2’s. Also dump pouch. Very handy. Third hand. Thanx for great vid.
Great info. That's a lot less gel than I expected, but I guess the cool-guy ball caps are coming along on ops, too. Also, I've seen some dudes take a little bungee and set it up to look over their pistol grip as an extra retention bit.
Lol you reminded me of this lazy guy we called "milkman" we put a 15 lb rock in his ruck. He toted it till lunch. He got so pissed, F U and F this rant. Lol before lunch was over it was back in his pack. LMAO the second rant was better. We kept getting the rock back into his pack over the next few days.
Dr. Kildare; Some damn good trainin' for the ''milkman'' i'd made sure his Sgt. kept him in mind as a proven ammo bearer! An M67 weighs 0.875 lb. / 15lb. rock = 17 grenades M18A1 weighs 2.43 lb. / 15lb. rock = 6 Claymores Hell, 15 lbs. of leathal is a lways welcome in any F.F.. And if your really set on screwin' up the enemy... Hairgel will keep 'em outta their Aloha Snackbar Heaven. -former recondo sgt. ''rock'' 82nd abn. 1/504 71-74 2918
I'm surprised I don't see water on more setups. Even as a dude who might find himself out on his stoop watching over the castle during potential unrest, seems like a little water would be smart to have.
Any gear that you would have at anytime on your person that you know is gonna get submerged how would you waterproof that? Speaking about the different underwater gear you briefly mentioned. Had to edit this. By the way you had me at "nothing sexy". Bare bones, and efficient. I love that!
I'm about to start working an armed security job. However I don't feel like I need my rig loaded out like a cops rig like other guards do. Looking at your set up I see alot of things I can use that would better suit my job. Canteen, sustainment pouch and first aid kit. Along with drop holster, radio and mag pouches. Other guards use cuffs, batons and OC spray. But my way of thinking is if you don't have that little piece of paper that says you're supposedly well trained with an item, you don't need it on your person. When you're working a security job, failing to properly follow the force continuum can get a guard into alot of trouble.
I work as a guard. I don't carry my baton anymore even though I am ASP certified. Extra weight, and too much liability. I carry cuffs, flashlight, and mags on one side. Holster on the other, and Sabre Red OC in the rear. I want to get an IFAK for it, funds permitting. I am in and out of a golf cart most of the night, and the extra weight is a killer.
Just get a good retention holster like a Safariland ALS, a double mag carrier, a pair of handcuffs and you're set. You aren't LE. You aren't going to be using less lethal force. You have no authority to use less lethal force. You're better off getting a good description and notifying LE.
I love this dude man, his gear isn't all highspeed low drag gimmicky shit. It's just a plain ol' blackhawk belt with standard plastic clips and good ol' fashion pouches.
As an ex-soldier, I love this idea. Light and fast is the way to go, and it doesn’t get better than a belt. Thanks for posting this video!

Sodasorb/Sofnolime burn is no joke! Not the mouthful you want when you’re thinking of 1000 other things.
That’s the sickest shack bro. Commando stylie 😍
Thanks Jason Thorough and On Point Good to go. 🇺🇸 🍀
Glad you enjoyed it
I like Jason's belt.
Thank you for you service brother.
Thanks for watching, TR
I was already subscribed, but the hair gel joke made me hit the bell for all videos alerting me. Lulz were had.
The hair gel part got me lol. Very Hollywood
Great info. That's a lot less gel than I expected, but I guess the cool-guy ball caps are coming along on ops, too. Also, I've seen some dudes take a little bungee and set it up to look over their pistol grip as an extra retention bit.
that's actually the back-up hair gel
Love how a seal carries hair gel in his kit 😂😂😂. Keep up the good vids frog man.
Lol you reminded me of this lazy guy we called "milkman" we put a 15 lb rock in his ruck. He toted it till lunch. He got so pissed, F U and F this rant. Lol before lunch was over it was back in his pack. LMAO the second rant was better. We kept getting the rock back into his pack over the next few days.
efred22 lol think so? The guy never knew who did it. Eventually I combed my but hairs with his fork. He didn't last. I doubt that you have either.
Dr. Kildare; Some damn good trainin' for the ''milkman''
i'd made sure his Sgt. kept him in mind as a proven ammo bearer!
An M67 weighs 0.875 lb. / 15lb. rock = 17 grenades
M18A1 weighs 2.43 lb. / 15lb. rock = 6 Claymores
Hell, 15 lbs. of leathal is a lways welcome in any F.F..
And if your really set on screwin' up the enemy...
Hairgel will keep 'em outta their Aloha Snackbar Heaven.

Sold to be Diers ;-)
winstonS not at all. Had you been there you too would have been involved. Don't have time to go into detail, but he got his just deserts ;-)
AHHHH so it was "Who we gonna take out before we get deployed"???
This video is awesome thank you. God bless all of your seal team and you for what you do. God bless you.
Thought I was watching Garand Thumb with that hair gell joke. 😂
great video. Love the addition of the hair gel!!
That hairgel bit is rather funny. Anti-bacterial handgel might be useful. It burns wickedly.
Would have liked to see exact zip tie locations for when submerged in King Neptune's world.
"King Neptune will steal your crap". 😂 love it..
Dry humor is the best humor.
Excellent! thank you for sharing!
A nylon shoulder holster with 2 mag pouches is helpful
What a great room! Info was good too, thanks.
I'm surprised I don't see water on more setups. Even as a dude who might find himself out on his stoop watching over the castle during potential unrest, seems like a little water would be smart to have.
Thanks again for the info as always. I live for your vids.
Any gear that you would have at anytime on your person that you know is gonna get submerged how would you waterproof that? Speaking about the different underwater gear you briefly mentioned. Had to edit this. By the way you had me at "nothing sexy". Bare bones, and efficient. I love that!
Nice well-stocked closet.
