I agree about lifting the Cross, short or long poled, high. The Cross itself should be higher than anyone’s head so that a person has to look up at it.
i MUST ADMIT Mr. Trenney is a excellent OUTSTANDING Organist, and the Lied PIPE Organ is huge and beautiful, the sound of these majestic pipe are superb.
I don’t think it was in the hymnal of the churches I worshipped at. Then around 15 years ago on Easter Sunday in my Lutheran Church we sang it and i immediately fell in love with its majesty and triumph.
if you are lost then give your life to jesus and believe in the name of jesus and tell your pastor or preacher and the bible says that if you believe with your heart and confess with your mouth then you shall be saved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! jesus is the only way to heaven and god loves you so much and so do i
She was a Lutheran. She didn't belong to any order. She just simply believed in God and his mercy. That's the deal with us Lutherans. We're a stubborn pain in the ass. But our love for God, Christ and his holy host will not be denied. We just have no patience for your damned cults. There's no need for them. Disband and realize we all worship the same God.
Lift high the cross, the love of Christ proclaim till all the world adore his sacred name. Come, Christians, follow where our Saviour trod, our Lamb victorious, Christ, the Son of God. Refrain: Lift high the cross, the love of Christ proclaim till all the world adore his sacred name. All newborn servants of the Crucified bear on their brow the seal of Christ who died. Refrain: O Lord, once lifted on the glorious tree, your death has brought us life eternally. Refrain: So shall our song of triumph ever be: praise to the Crucified for victory. Refrain:
“O Christ lifted high, O Love crucified, fill our hearts with your love, that we may see in your Cross the sign of our redemption. Lord Jesus Christ, who accept the Cross at the hands of men to make of it the sign of God’s saving love for humanity, grant us and all the men and women of our time the grace of faith in this infinite love.”
Just tuned in your Palm Sunday Service this morning, after our own-glad I did!an interesting message & delightful to see the children with their palm branches!.Also enjoy your “choir selections of hymns”on a daily basis !Greetings rom Lindsay ,Ont.,Canada!!
No. Jesus Christ did it for us. That is the Gospel message and the theme of Holy Week and the theme of this hymn. Nothing about us carrying our own cross.
I agree, however the processional cross used has a shortened base pole so it is not possible to lift it up. As a side noteI get really annoyed when a crucifer could lift the cross higher and doesn't.
I love the Organist. He plays so divinely. Registrations are perfect.

Excellent organist work!!!
My favorite hymn ❤

Amazing singing church. Nice when you have nice pipe organ and make congregation to sing praises to the Lord.
That reharmonization is divine!
What a beautiful tribute to our Lord and Savior.
Amazing song, amazing organ, amazing singing. Thank You!!!

My mother's favorite hymn. I miss her so much.
Was your mom by chance a member of the Order of the Daughters of the King? That is our official anthem.

our Lamb victorious, Christ, the Son of God.

A favorite hymn!
One my all time favorites 🙏🏿🙌🏿
The organist, Tom Trenny, is so badass with all his improvs in the last verse.
Patrick Neavin He’s a master at it! I loved the trumpet intro.
Perfect as usual. Would expect nothing less from First Plymouth Church.
This church is amazing. What a Choir
what an Organ!
Beautiful version!
glorious descant at the end

SO BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!!!!!
An inspiring video for me. O what their joy and their glory must be, those who process and sing to a mighty organ in the Plymouth choir!
SO majestic! SO beautiful!
Verse 3. Let ev'ry race and ev'ry language tell
of him who saves our souls from death and hell.

The cross is a symbol of discomfort, pain, and grief and it is difficult to carry, but we must all carry our own➕
True. But it is also a symbol of the Resurrection and Christ's triumph over death.
I think you are missing the theme of the lyrics.
@@tombradburn3935 my comment is based on scripture not the theme of the lyrics
No. Jesus Christ did it for us. That is the Gospel message and the theme of Holy Week and the theme of this hymn. Nothing about us carrying our own cross.
@@tombradburn3935 "if any will follow me, he must first deny himself and take up his own cross" Matthew 10:38, 16:24, Mark 8:34, Luke 9:23
Beautiful memories of this celebration at San Jose Catholic Church in Austin Texas
This was sung after Communion at our daughter's wedding. Safe in Christ, Always †
Nicely done! Looking forward to meeting you when we visit the Cobbs))) Leslie & Joyce
Lyrics changed in order to squeeze in a little politically correct Christological heresy, of course.
Tx God
Tell the crucifer to lift that cross higher! ;-)
I agree, however the processional cross used has a shortened base pole so it is not possible to lift it up. As a side noteI get really annoyed when a crucifer could lift the cross higher and doesn't.
What denomination is this? Looks like an Anglican church of England bash.. Is it Episcopalian?
We sang it in the Catholic Church on Holy Thursday. Don’t know what denomination this is though.
Congregational UCC
Why bash..? Welcome to the reality that there is faith in Christ in churches that aren’t your narrow statement of faith.
UCC
Congregational, United Church of Christ...or just UCC.

What a large church . Is there not even one man among them both able and willing to provide leadership?
The ones that hired the woman provided great leadership! FWIW if you investigated you'd find the senior pastor is male.
Looks like you missed the forest for your one tree. In your judging you missed the greater blessing.
Totally AWE-INSPIRING rendition /@GrahamWaltonMusic-gr5vm
My favorite hymn❤
