My music teacher wrote this beautiful hymn, Sr. Suzanne Toolan. She taught me from 1970-1974. She is 96 now. I will always love her.
Your music teacher composed a very beautiful, inspiring hymn. I love singing it at Mass.
As I understand it, she wrote the song but didnt like it so she threw it in the wastebasket. A student retrieved it and told her it was a good song. That student is my godmother. I'm happy she retrieved it :)

This is my favorite hymn. My beloved husband died on 1/02/20 and this beautiful hymn was the Recessional Hymn for his Celebration of Life Service on 1/11/20. Each time I hear this majestic hymn my heart is filled with faith, joy and tears as I adored my husband. Maggie Eaton

God Bless You, Margaret. I flew into Houston in June 2018 and saw that this choir while on tour would be singing in The Woodlands that same evening. So i went straight from the airport to catch them live. Near the end of their performance that asked that any Notre Dame alumni in the audience come join them on the stage to sing the Alma Mater. So I can say I sang with this very same beautiful group of people.

Thank you so much for this beautiful rendition. It’s April 11, 2021 and I’m mourning the loss of my 23 year old son, who passed away on March 13, 2021. I decided to turn to the amazing promise of the message of this usually very sad/somber song. It usually makes me cry because of a friend’s funeral 28 years ago.
But this version of the song and the happy sounds and beautiful, joyous faces of these innocent young people who are so happy in singing this song amazes me and gives me spiritual sustenance as I suffer the loss of my best friend, my son, the product of so much love and effort and work and joy.

I'm sorry for your loss Mark. I know this is so hard, so sad and unfair. I lost my girlfriend, Britney on 1/20/2021 by a speeding driver who crashed into her car going 80mph. I'm 24 and she was only 23. We were together for over 3 and half years, I feel so lost and alone now but I am trusting God that he will allow us to one day to feel joy instead of tears. I know life will never be the same for you or me but I hope you find peace and that this overwhelming pain that you feel diminishes. God bless you

These beautiful people would have drawn lots of people to Christ. My go to hymn when I feel depressed. You sure are the bread of life, my Lord and my God.
This is absolutely beautiful! So jubilant, depicting some of the joy we will have in Heaven! It says in Scripture: "Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the land. Serve the Lord with gladness. Come to His presence with singing". (Psalm 100:1-2).

I learned and sang this song in Catholic school. Im no longer catholic but still christian .. I have always loved this song. Still do. Still sing it especially when I take communion. Its from John chapter 6. A very powerful chapter that talks about Jesus being the bread of life . after reading it a few years ago it made me really love this song even more. Be blessed 😊

i am very old fashioned. but the Lord has taught me, that the Spirit moves in different ways. If the Holy Spirit moves these young kids in such a joyful celebration, why not? i have learnt to abandon myself and enjoy life.

The touch with the drums was amazing
I first learned this song as a member of a group of high school students from around the Detroit area back in 1972. We were called the Life Singers and this was part of our performance. These young folks from ND did a fabulous job of performing it.
Oh yeah I remember u guys, voices like angels - the “life swingers” we called you guys back in 72. Ye were the biz man. Not a dry panty left in the house when you guys sang the story of our lives. Those hymns man!!

I have this saved as one of my favorites on RUclips and listen to it quite often. It's an amazing rendition by a wonderful group of talented singers.
