This is the 2nd song I've released from my new sacred songs album HIGHER. I've always loved listening to Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli, in particular their albums of sacred songs...and I just had the opportunity to release one of my own...inspired by them and by other great singers. This song was played at my cousin’s funeral 17 days ago. He was only 14. As painful as it’s been since the accident, I find comfort in knowing that he is home in the Kingdom with our beloved Irish grandfather, and I will see him again someday. God’s grace allowed him to give 5 people a second chance at life. My cousin is a hero.

This song reminds me about my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost the battling to cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, I miss her smiles, she was always there for me and our lovely daughter, and I never miss a moment with her, life could be so unfair most times, there is some pain, I will cry in vain but won’t let you know how I will feel yes, I will miss you to the core! but some times i wonder why bad thing always happen to good people. She’s always in our heart

I made my grandmother a promise on her deathbed. I promised her "Memere I promise you I will quit drinking". It was the last thing I ever said to my grandmother. One year and a month later I have not touched a drop of alcohol. I've worked like I've never worked before to keep that promise. I know she's watching and I know she guide's me through everyday. She's my guardian angel and I'll never forget that promise I made as long as I live.

My dear husband listened to this many times as he was dying of cancer. We joined hands and sang it as a family in his hospital room when Paul passed. The nurse at the Durham VA Hospital said they were deeply moved at the respect we showed our dead loved one. Too many families just scoot out of the room when the loved one takes their last breath.

In our family we are taught that the hearing is last sense to go. So when we lose a relative we spend time talking to them explaining that they have passed and not to worry but to go on when they are ready as Jesus is waiting for them. ❤

Lost my mother in summer 2020 too and had Be thou my vision at her funeral. A great help on dark days.
My oldest brother went to be with the Lord last Sunday. I lost niece to motor vehicle accident in October This hymn has great meaning for me with her and his passing!🙏

Catholics weren't the true Christians or first as the Romans killed the actual Christians as entertainment as they were pagan. Do some research and you'll notice it yourself. Jesus has 1 church yes but be careful what one you believe to be the true or first as we are warned that many false prophets and teachers will rise in the last days...

Whereas the catholics trace their history back to first century CE. When you say that we shouldn’t listen to anyone elses word that is unbiblical as Christ tells Peter that “I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” in Mathew 16.

I was saved from a very aggressive cancer because, when I was going to put off seeing the Doc, God sent a presence into my room during the night to warn me not to wait. I called the doc next morning, and through many operations and chemo, I am now 10yrs cancer free. Praise His Holy Name!

I used to sing this at Vespers with the monks when I was in college. It still makes me cry.
This song has a special meaning for me. My retinas were bleeding, and I thought I was going blind. I realized I would never be able to play music except for the classical things I had memorized. That’s when I learned to play by ear for the very first time in my life. I play this song now every time I sit down to the piano. My eyes healed, and I praise God above for eyes to see, ears to hear this beautiful version of a Celtic tune so dear. Thank you!

Do you know why your retinas bled? Same thing happened to me. The doctor acted like I was going to harm him in some way. Never found out why it happened.
@@marylove7153 My Eye Doctors were always worried about My pressures because they were so high upper 20's they were afraid that the high pressure would cause the capillary veins to rupture < They never did thank God however I did have other problems and after three surgeries on My right eye, it is now after 68 years My better eye ! but after the surgeries and in the recovery, time I had a lot of time to practice, but it went a lot better after I discovered that not ALL of the notes were dotted :-) it took several weeks for the floaters to stop so I could read the music properly. Both of My Eye's are stabilized and at 20/20 in My Right Eye and 20/25 in My left Eye. just at My last Eye exam, They told Me that they were no ;longer worried about the pressures and that they are ok now.! Just heard my neighbour played this song on the piano. I had to Google at once. In our busy world, Thank God for His grace to draw me to find rest in Him thru this song. I am grateful for His faithfulness and mercy to me.

It's 2024 and it's amazing how God touched the lives of these people who are battling with something only Him can ever heal.
When I'll turn 60, I'll come back to this song and remember all the goodness God has ever done in my life, just like all these people here.

When I first heard this hymn at boarding school in the 50’s I was only about 11 years old. I remember the deep and sudden emotional reaction that I had to it, especially the last verse “Whatever befall, still be my Vision oh Ruler of all”. I never knew then what might ‘befall’ me then, but His promise came through loud and clear, that He would be with me - and He still is now I am 76 and counting.
I heard this played on the cello 25 years ago. It changed my life. This hymn played on the cello was probably the main reason I play the cello today

This music can make us feel angels carrying our souls upwards to heaven. My grandmother sang this when my grandfather was away at war. He survived a famous brutal battle where most of his troops died.

More than sixty years ago my teacher, Mr Smythe, wanted to include this beautiful hymn in school assembly. Nobody wanted to sing a solo. He knew I had a good reading voice, and asked me to read the words. They have been with me ever since. When I visited my daughter's church in the UK, before COVID-19 struck, the musicians played and sang the hymn beautifully. At the end of the service one of the leaders came and sat next to me and asked, "Why are you crying Steve?" I told him how much the words meant to me, they are a gospel in miniature, and then he asked me to tell the whole church. I can't help but cry every time I hear the hymn. Jesus is everything to those who believe on His name.

I have been playing this particular song since getting pregnant and today when I played it for our little guy he is big enough now to hear it and respond! Little movements right near where I'm holding the speaker. Truly amazing how God works.

One time, maybe six years ago I had hit bottom, I believed in nothing except a bottle of whisky, But I would pass a cowboy church twice a day and for some reason it drew me. One night I lay in my bed staring at the ceiling and hoping for the sleep that wouldn't come. For some reason I said, "Hello God, You don't know me, I'm a sinner! Don't know how long I confessed my sins to others and myself and asked for his forgiveness but I got the best night sleep I'd had since I was a kid. This is done exceptionally well. The only thing that I missed was the third verse. I don’t quite understand why the warfare is being removed from our hymns today. Hymns were written as a story and to take one verse out changes the whole story. I would love to see a remake of this song with the third verse included as seen below.
