The Notre Dame Folk Choir singing "Here I am Lord" by Dan Schutte, at Notre Dame's Flaherty Hall chapel.
Lyrics:
I the lord of sea and sky
I have heard my people cry
All who dwell in dark and sin
My hand will save
I have made the stars of night
I will make their darkness bright
Who will bear my light to them?
Whom shall I send?
Here I am Lord
Is it I Lord?
I have heard You calling in the night
I will go Lord
If You lead me
I will hold Your people in my heart
I the lord of wind and flame
I will tend the poor and lame
I will set a feast for them
My hand will save
Finest bread I will provide
Till their hearts be satisfied
I will give my life to them
Whom shall I send? Кино
We had this hymn sung at my Father's funeral when we brought him into the church.
Beautiful singing..God Bless this choir 🙏
I am Catholic and Proud of it.
Amen!!!!❤❤❤
Peaceful, soft, and waiting for the Lord at night in my life. This touches my soul deeply and prayerfully
God, with a wave of his hand, is willing to save us. If we accept it.
This is ND, not football, this. God bless.
Beautifully sung. Nice blending.
There is something innocent in their music that reflects heaven.
Beautiful voices! They sound as if they are angels singing. I know, they placed a smile upon our Lord's face. And filled Jesus's heart with hope for our youth!👼🙏🐀🐱🐶💁♀️⛪👼
HERE I AM LORD - A Hymn of Service
Here I am Lord, It is I Lord
I have heard You calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if You lead me.
I will hold Your people in my heart.
I, the Lord of sea and sky,
I have heard My people cry.
All who dwell in dark and sin,
My hand will save.
I who made the stars of night,
I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear My light to them
Whom shall I send
Here I am Lord, It is I Lord
I have heard You calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if You lead me.
I will hold Your people in my heart.
I, the Lord of snow and rain,
I have born my peoples pain.
I have wept for love of them,
They turn away.
I will break their hearts of stone,
Give them hearts for love alone.
I will speak My word to them,
Whom shall I send
Here I am Lord, It is I Lord
I have heard You calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if You lead me.
I will hold Your people in my heart.
I, the Lord of wind and flame,
I will tend the poor and lame.
I will set a feast for them,
My hand will save
Finest bread I will provide,
Till their hearts be satisfied.
I will give My life to them,
Whom shall I send
Here I am Lord, It is I Lord
I have heard You calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if You lead me.
I will hold Your people in my heart.
William, check out the same song , sung by Scottish youth boys’choir at Dunblane Church
@@Randolph1233 Will do. Thanks
Thank you for your voices!
I love the Notre Dame Folk Choir. The singing is outstanding, the choice of music is excellent and the musicians are fantastic. Some day I hope to travel from Ireland to Notre Dame and listen to you performing live at Mass. Keep up the good work!
This Protestant Christian loves this ❤️🙏
As a Catholic I say I love you and welcome!!❤
Please do more Catholic classic music. I love your rendition of this song. Very angelic!
What beautiful music coming from our youth! My favorite is their “I am the Bread of Life.” So uplifting!
and Samuel answered, Here am I, Lord. Send me.

BEAUTIFUL!!! Angels singing!!
Great to see see the updated choir doing the classics. MORE
Thank you for singing this hymn so beautifully. Thanks also to the musicians for the wonderful accompaniment. Well done to everybody - especially the conductor and musical director!
This is so much expressive of a Call to ordained ministry. You instinctively know if you refuse that Call, part of you will be missing for the rest of your life. Oh, you'll have a "normal" life, but an indescribable "something" will be missing . . . and when you think of it, you just know you will be sad.
So very true.
Your comment struck me so hard.
Beautifully performed, ardent, prayerful.
I have loved this song since hearing it two decades ago on the old BBC TV show "Songs of Praise."
Well done even tho' a reminder of how far I fall short in helping anyone. Treating all as if I face Jesus....good luck!
wow what a beautiful song, I have enjoyed and share with so many. praise God. Amen.
For those folks discerning a religious vocation (even Protestant ministry), I recommend this hymn for Reflection. AMDG. 5/25/2919

Loved your work and this version of the hymn! I would like to know who arranged this version and where can I buy a copy of it?? Blessing from Mexico!
Hi, has this been commercially released? We would love to play it at my father's funeral but the crematorium are saying they cannot legally play this unless it has been commercially released. any help greatly appreciated
Call the publisher and get a one time release . . . I'm sure they would be doing it gratis. Might also be able to call the chapel directly. I am probably too late now . . . . Sorry for your loss .. . hard for us kids at any age when one of our parents die. Peace.
Love this and love your version of it it, but it is not written by Talbot, it is written by Dan Schutte SJ, and originally performed by the St. Louis Jesuits.
Mike Lyons This is the second time this week I have seen JMTalbot credited for a St. Louis Jesuit’s song. I don’t understand it.
What happened to Steven Warner? Did he retire?
where can I download these songs?
Hayes version Pls...
The Brady Bunch brought me here.
Needs an organ, but still good.
This is beautiful, but the verses you sang, one of them was not the one here.
Which is a Shame. It's the most moving part of the song.
"I the Lord of snow and rain.
I have borne my people's pain.
I have wept for love of them,
They turn away....
I will break their hearts of stone.
Give them Hearts for Love alone.
I will speak my Word to them..
Whom Shall I Send????"
My heart breaks for the Lord every time I hear it. Don't leave these words out of the lyrics. It's the part we need to Hear, See, and Live the most.
God Bless.
