I went to mass this Saturday and they used the wrong powerpoint so the words to the song weren't there yet everyone knew the lyrics. That's how you know this song is in the top charts within the catholic church.

Today, our God-children, Bountiful (age 11) and his younger sister, Benedicta (age7) are making their First Communion. Upon awakening a few moments sgo, this song came to mind, for truly this is a day to REJOICE and BE GLAD! We are SO VERY HAPPYto be blessed with these beautiful & loving children. Today, May 4, 2024 is a day to REJOICE and BE GLAD, as you receive your First Communion.

wonderful song and I am PRAYERFUL for D. Haas....and all involved.....I am a retired Baptist pastor who during my service in upstate NY was lucky to have been befriended by a RCC leader..... the late Monsignor Peter Owens who was serving a parish in Johnson City NY....we served together in the local Council of Churches...this was the lead song for his funeral mass....I know I will see him again in HEAVEN....I so appreciate his influence over me...Truly he was a man of GOD

Thank you for posting and sharing this. This song in particular is so bitter sweet for me, because it has always been a favorite and a comfort to me, but it has also been sung and played at the funerals of so many people that I have loved and lost. Every time I hear it, I think of them, but it reminds me that sadness and suffering doesn't have to be a net negative, and that even in despair you can find hope. This is a beautiful rendition of Blest Are They.
So nice to see so many enthusiastic singers praising God! May God bless them all!
I pray that our youth will remain close to God and hear God’s call. May God watch and protect them and may they find their heart’s desire.

As I listen to these young students grateful.
On March I lost my disable son, we took care of him until God called him home. I know he safety at home but every day I missed him so much. We pray every night for comfort and strength. God is so good .
Warms my soul hearing this... and seeing people partaking in communion... God be praised!
I have to say this choir is the best yet.. the music is very reverant... The young men and woman have the Lord in their hearts...I always get a warm feeling all over listening... I feel god is truly in my heart and my deceased love ones are up in heaven enjoying the beautiful choir of angels....I also feel God and my guardian angel are watching and protecting me..I attend mass everyday and adore it... I remember this song since I was a little boy, I'm in my 30's now.. my church would sing it all the time. It's been a long time since I heard this song 🙏🏼✝️
And you won't ever hear this song sung live again since composer David Haas admitted to abuse last year.

I think eliminating the art that Haas produced is so wrong. Its beautiful and a staple of Catholic music for the last several decades. Yes the man is a sinner and every penny of the royalties should go to victims, but can you imagine if we banned art produced by sinful artists from the Church, regardless of the truth, goodness and beauty that may be reflected in the art itself??? Our churches would be barren. You’d have to pretty much tear down all of St. Peter’s and much of Vatican City.

Yeah; the COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions gave survivors the chance to report David Haas' sexually predatory behavior spanning decades; which prohibited him from traveling to churches

We were very blessed to have Notre Dame graduates in our church choir here in South Texas a few years ago and also a retired literature professor from Notre Dame who sang with us for a few years. We considered them part of our family. Music is alive and well at that university.

This is my all-time favorite hymn. This choir is awesome. The first that can be heard clearly with the lyrics to the song. I love the repeat at the end and the female's voice going up an octave as it comes to a close. This is the most beautiful version of BLEST ARE THEY that I have ever heard. I want this played at my funeral, and so it it shall be. This version. I downloaded it and now have it on my funeral song list.
Flew into Houston summer of '18 and saw that this choir was on final stop of their tour, performing in The Woodlands, so I drove north instead of home. Glad I did. Tremendous concert. At the end they invited alumni in the audience to come on stage with them and sing the Alma Mater. Could barely make it thru for the tears in my eyes. I love your plan. I also noticed that one women’s voice which is so beautiful. And she can be heard distinctly from the others yet she doesn’t make her voice stick out too much.
