I used to be a huge meat eater and a very outspoken opponent of vegans. Once it had to go vegan for medical reasons I was awoken and realized the true key to build lean muscle with endurance was vegan. I was wrong the my whole life and I’m vegan now and not looking back.
By the way I’m 6’0 310 pound vegan.

@@theredgoatviking4686 I'm very almost there, I started eating just veg every other day for health, now I'm eating vegan apart from I have about 3 week of whey protein which is diary but I don't like waste so I'm going to finish that and then I'll be a fully fledged Vegan haha 👍
I'm 6.2 & 160kg and I have never met someone who eaten as much meat as I did so literally anyone can change.

@Katherine Jackson I am quite sure that is a myth, '''Isoflavones, which are found in soy, are plant estrogens. High levels of estrogen have been linked to an increased risk of breast cancer. However, food sources of soy don't contain high enough levels of isoflavones to increase the risk of breast cancer.'''

For health reasons, I chucked my traditional eating and became a vegan October 2019 and haven't looked back!! I am always looking for information, recipes, guidance, etc. to broaden my horizons. I have to say, out of all the videos I have watched, books I've read, and lectures I have listened to thus far, I find you to be among my top 3!! It is clear that you don't have a hidden agenda and that you are not trying to force knowledge on anyone. However, you share what you know from your prospective and those are the people I look to help me on this life style change. I'm glad I came across your page and THANK YOU for your videos.

Sweet potatoes are higher in vitamin A. Trader Joe’s also has organic sprouted tofu which is higher in fiber that is easier to digest. Also, for people sensitive to beans it helps to soak water over night.

Try slightly caramelizing or browning tempeh in your favorite oil, put sliced tomatoes on them after cooked, drizzle some more of your favorite oil, and use McCormick Garlic Salt. It's a ridiculously amazing food combo. Another great combo that tastes great together is black coffee and Whole Foods macadamia nuts.

You talk more in terms of ''more nutritious and less nutritious'' and ''more or less precessed'' not ''good vs bad foods'' like a lot of other youtubers. And OMG YES! Bread is not bad! Just choose whole wheat, mixture of cereals or sprouted. The vlogs are awesome. Absolutely love them!

Yams is actually a whole nother plant that’s common in African country’s. They are related to potatoes but a lot larger and they are mostly white on the inside. Since yams are hard to get people have been using sweet potatoes for yams. Actual yams are usually available in African or Asian markets.
    Try them.... really healthy

For maximum nutrient absorption/conversion from ALA to DHA of the chia seeds, they should be crushed/ground. You could pulse them in a spice grinder or buy them ground. I buy ground chia and flax seeds from Spectrum brand and store in the fridge to maintain freshness. Just another option if you don't specifically need the seeds whole :)

Miss shopping at Trader Joes since relocating outside of the US. When İ used to live in San Diego, my go-to for whole foods were Sprouts, (Fresh n Easy), & Farmers' Market on the weekends. İ intend to start a co-op Farmer's market with like minded ppl in our local community. This will promote healthy living so more ppl can begin to adopt a plant based lifestyle.

Over the past 2 years, I've transitioned to eating a vegetarian diet rather than a Vegan diet so I have kept eggs in my diet. During the process, I noticed great improvement in my performance with bodybuilding. I only recently discovered your channel and online information, so it's great to become aware of your approach. Thanks for sharing 🙏 BTW, I enjoy the TJs cinnamon crunch cereal sprinkled on top of a bowl of hot oatmeal. I get the nutritional benefits of the organic oats and enjoy the taste/crunch experience of the cereal without adding so much sugar to the entire bowl of food.

If you ever get the chance to visit Portland Oregon, I suggest hitting up OTA tofu. It is the oldest tofu company in the US, they still make it by hand. Several restaurants also use this as their primary Tofu. Once you have this you will never go back.

  • @junglejarred6366
    @junglejarred6366 4 года назад

Thanks for sharing. There is actually a better tofu using sprouted organic soybeans by wildwood. Even better is to make it yourself. I know you mentioned the packaging but for someone who grows and forages most of their food and bulk buys the rest it's fascinating to see how much waste is involved with store bought things. Absolutely fascinating. Do you have farmers markets? How much plastic is involved for a few ounces of greens? I can pick 10 times that much with no waste whatsoever and it's fresh and free. I could go weeks without having to remove trash from our house. I buy all the legumes by the 25lb bucket. I buy 20lbs of walnuts and make raw sprouted walnut butter and reuse the same containers. I buy chia in 10lb food grade buckets and use the buckets to make apple cider vinegar and such. Perhaps we should be growing our own food and eliminating waste?

Sweet potatoes are white inside. Yams are orange inside, but we tend to call them sweet potatoes anyway. Have you tried the purple Frieda Stokes potatoes? They are purple on the inside and outside. They are my fave.

That Soyaki sounds great. I’ll have to get it next time I go to Trader Joe’s.

Sweet potatoes and yams are actually the same thing in the states and Canada...all true sweet potatoes despite their labels. They use the name interchangeably for whatever reason but they actually aren’t even in the same family. That is why so many people get confused. Real yams can usually only be found in international markets. Whole Foods plant based is the best 💕 Thanks for sharing!

Yams are more fibrous than sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes have a softer and slighty creamy texture, that's why they make great pies!! Both are yummy 😋
