I'm a testament to "started watching baseball because of Shohei Ohtani". I'm so glad I got to learn about him last year because he had a great season (winning the MVP award). And now the Angels are being so good I hope they continue and get a chance to play in October. :)
As an Angels fan, the fact we get to enjoy a once in every 100 year type of player is truly incredible. He is still the mvp in my eyes just because no one can do what Shohei can do, not just in the MLB, but at any level of the game. Remarkable.
I learnt the rules just to understand the game he plays. Baseball doesn't even exist where I am but I still stream and wait for the highlights just to see how he did it. He is such a great player.
The most beneficial difference of the 2022 Angels team against the 2021 Angels team is that Ohtani now has more support both in the bullpen (with the addition of Noah Syndergaard and Michael Lorenzen, and the impressive improvements seen in Patrick Sandoval) and in the lineup with amazing hitters and fielders. This Angels team is a team to look out.
