      No, no one has done better than Shohei Ohtani. Someone mentioned Barry Bonds, but Barry Bonds and everyone else could not do what Shohei Ohtani is doing. Shohei Ohtani had done both pitching and hitting at elite levels.

    📢📢📢 MVP, MVP, MVP!!! Shohei Ohtani, in his start last night, was simply mesmerizing, especially against the Astros, one of the most potent lineups in baseball. 6 IP, only 1 ER, 12 K; 2 for 4 at the plate with a 2-RBI triple, a single, a walk and a run scored. He is truly remarkable! Sugoi, Ohtani-san! I am very happy to be alive today to witness Shohei's amazing two-way skillset. He's a superstar, a unicorn 🦄🦄🦄

    I love that Shohei is also his own run support, hitting the go ahead triple last night. And this is not the first time
    And if we're comparing to Judge for MVP just from a batting perspective (ignoring pitching for a moment), although Ohtani is batting .201 in his last 13, Judge, in his last 13, is batting .191 and Yankees are 7-6, and in 4 of those wins Judge had no hits. So Yanks can win without his contribution too.

    Ohtani WAR should be 8.46
    Rate him as one player and not two separate players, everyone would agree with you and all those ignoring that he pitches + hits will be silenced.
    Most games by position player is 90
    Most games by starting pitcher is 18
    ...18x5= 90 games
    Ohtani as position player is 84 games
    Ohtani as starting pitcher is 15 games
    ...15x5 = 75 games
    84 + 75 = 159 games
    159-90 = 69 more games than any player
    Ohtani WAR = 4.8
    4.8/90 games = .053
    69 x. 053 = 3.657
    4.8 + 3.647 = 8.46 WAR
    Give Ohtani credit for his Play time as one player, stop rating him as two separate players!!!

    I wish somehow it were possible to calculate something called a team's defensive stats and include them in the calculation of earned runs. Playing for the Angels, there are times when earned runs are added in situations that would be unlikely for other teams.

    I don't think people quite understand the crazy awesomeness of what this man is doing. I was watching an interview, from last year's ASG...he was asked to pick one...and he couldn't because he's balanced by both pitching and hitting....like whet??? That's not normal, this man isn't the norm, and I really don't think people will truly embrace his greatness until after he's retired.

    to be mentioned in the same line as Nolan Ryan, is good enough. to be a Cy young candidate, he will have to improve very much so. he has no sinker, no change-up. and, he never throws the fastball high, up, out of the zone. these are basics in pitching, when it comes to dominance. he's able to surpass expectations via uniqueness; a slider that back-doors up and side-ways. a splitter that's nearly unhittable. and a fastball that's clocked at 100 mph. as per the hitting...he needs to think outside the box, again. that's how genius works.

    • @chengshuyan4311
      @chengshuyan4311 2 года назад

      I thought he is already a CY candidate with his current pitching stats without the sinker. Who told you a pitcher needs to do certain things to excel? Are you new to baseball?

    All true and all beyond comprehension. But I think you left out one of the most impressive stats (though maybe you used that in a previous cast): Ohtani has the highest OPS with RISP of any batter, and simultaneously the lowest OPS by opposing hitters with RISP of any pitcher. In other words, he produces best as a hitter with runners in scoring position and locks down opposing hitters better than anyone else with a minimum of 25 starts when he's pitching with runners in scoring position. Is that mind-blowing or not? Oh well, it's just one of the stats and records he has amassed so far.

    I’m not yet sure he’s the greatest player who ever lived, but he’s definitely the most exciting by a mile. If he wins the MVP this year and next year does he even need to do anything else to be a Hall of Famer? This guy is Sandy Koufax producing his own run support and a shit load of home runs!

    • @nonenone7761
      @nonenone7761 2 года назад +6

      I think this guy will be the greatest ever, when all is said and done.
      But more importantly, he’s doing something the Yankees, the Cubs and Red Sox couldn’t do: Making people watch.
      After the 94 Strike, this is the first player to legitimately make people curious again.
      He’s the most valuable because he’s making people interested in MLB again, something no one else has been able to do.
